I hope. I built the v-boards and silhouettes to use with my floaters and build numbers. Since I built them, NY state messed with our daily limits. The regular season and late season daily limit in my area and most of the state is 1 goose/day which makes it hardly worth the effort. Our early September limit is still good, though. When I built them, I had visions of making a video of them in use but that hasn't happened yet. Hopefully, I can get better documentation this year.
Sorry for the delay in my response. Before I replied, I wanted to conduct some "research". You aren't the first to express concern over waterlogged and sinking v-boards. I've never had them in the water for more than hours while using them. For my research, I put two v-board assemblies in a pond on Friday morning with the intent of leaving them there for a couple days and monitoring the result. As it worked out, I wasn't able to get back there until this morning. So this morning, after four days in the water, the assemblies were floating just fine. However, I would not recommend leaving the in the water, especially if the silhouettes are a plywood laminate. I also would not recommend storing v-boards outside, mine are stored in a shed and were very dry. I also have spray painted the arms of the v-boards on three sides to hopefully camouflage and make them blend better with the water, but that wouldn't seal them. I hope that helps answer your question.
@@hookedonquack perfect thank you! I want to run my divebombs out there but was worried about it sinking. Would you say cheap pine would work the best or what kind do you use?
Awesome video thank you! I would love if you would share your technical drawings with me. I'm trying to bulk my spread a bit more. i shoot Mallard, Canadian geese and Paridise ducks at lake ellesmere New Zealand. unfortunately the university budget doesn't allow for purchasing masses of floaters
This is like watching Bob Ross making decoys. It must have been neat to be in one of your classes. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks. No happy trees, though.
@@hookedonquack No, but happy goose decoys. Even better.
VEry nice boards, recommend darkening/ camoing the runners though
Agreed. Thanks for the feedback.
Great video and great work! Can I get the drawings for these? They are awesome
How do you want to make that happen?
Look good. Do they work on honkers?

Amy updates?
@@ryanholtmann9013 Not yet.
do you have any issues with the wood soaking up water and sinking?

I used pressure treated 2 X 4s and ripped them in half. The pressure treated lumber is rot resistant. Regular SPF 2 X 4s would work.

I guess if it was for your own personal use. How do I make that happen?
@@hookedonquack Could I please get the technical drawings as well? I'm definitely going to build a few of these

Great video, pretty much only one on RUclips. Are you able to send me you’re design drawings so I could build some myself?
Send how?
