- It's always entertaining to watch marquee production talent whip up impromptu instrumentals in episodes of "Rhythm Roulette," but an underrated aspect of our series is how much of a challenge it can pose. You never know what you're going to pull out of the crates when you're blindfolded at the record store-and the results aren't always optimal.
Herein lies the beauty of "Rhythm Roulette,' and Beat Butcha's efforts in our latest episode. After blindly sifting through tons of records, Butcha emerged with "Midnight Energy" by Mantus-which "looks like it's going to be some sort of disco shit"-Raphael Saadiq's "Instant Vintage"-a gospel record that Butcha admitted would be a tough sample, despite its likely 'dopeness'-and The Dells' "There Is," the record most likely to contain 'the heat,' according to the producer himself.
Producing records for grimy street poets like Prodigy, Lloyd Banks, Jadakiss and Sean Price during his career, Beat Butcha may not have deep experience dabbling in disco and gospel. But you wouldn't know it by the way he whipped this track up. Enjoy the latest "Rhythm Roulette" above.

Dope arrangement. I like the fact he took elements from all 3 albums, and then added his own herbs and spices.
Those were ‘erbs and spices... fire!
It's called producing...lol
BEAT BUTCHA has the illest drum kits and the most grittiest consistency, Salute!
Amazing. shout out to recognizing the mastery of the string arrangements. that's the work of Benjamin Wright, who coincidentally was the music director of the Dells. bless!
Sampling def an art. As a multi instrumentalist, I’m happy I can pick up an instrument and hit, but butcha has a unique blend. Fresh
Really dope beat. Simple and clean. Jadakiss needs to drop a verse on it.

That Raphael Saadiq joint is a classic
Raphael Saadiq's "Instant Vintage" is a R&B/Soul album, it was released on GospelDelic/Universal Records. GospelDelic was the name of Raphael's imprint at the time.
He has a strong british accent, i didn't know he was from UK. One the best producer and his drumkits are crazy!!
That snare roll is hard as fuck. This guy rules
That was the craziest thing that I have witnessed all day. This man kept adding more and more stuff on like nothing. That's is pure talent.
