Sport Sambo is more like Judo than wrestling (I have some medals, so have an idea of what it is and isn't) and most of the highest level guys are Judo players too. Combat Sambo is pretty sporty in some regards, it's not as similar to MMA as ppl think, and scoring points with grappling is still the primary way most ppl win. Military/Combatives Sambo is another thing entirely, but the military is known to hold competitions similar to Combat Sambo such as Armeyskiy Rukopashniy Boy
@@thatindiandude4602they are easily a top 10 judo nation, maybe top 5.....it's hard to say because international judo has an incredibly deep talent pool.

Not really. I mean, seems like y'all think that Russia is that unforgiving wasteland where everybody just survives on a daily basis. You could say that was the case in the 90s, but now it's a normal country with normal stuff.
@nettlecarrier8259 It's far from a normal country, it's a country on the decline economically and is being further isolated everyday bc a senseless war that's killing all their young men. Think about it, growing up in difficult and harsh environments with limited job or career opportunity to break through SES economic barriers, with access to top notch training from early childhood with a singular focus of becoming the best at the sport/discipline, refined through years of multiple daily training sessions. These guys didn’t become so dedicated and good because they wanted to, it was because they had to in order to have an opportunity to make something of themselves and get better. Things like school or career or “doing what you want to be happy” are not readily available options.
Well actually Russia has more job opportunities than Europe just limited career opportunities, however that’s likely to change with the mass minerals in the north artic
don't forget the way these guys raised: discipline, humility, respect, dedication, family values. It's like a social minimum there. To live a "celebrity lifestyle" would be a sort of a shame for them. Once they become the best, they either wrap it up and go for a social activity or train even harder to become even better.
unstopable?caio borralho alone has defeated 5 russians and he's not even in the ranks. No one talks about THEM because no one can even remember their names. What happens is 90% of the russians fighters fail hard, they dont even reach top 10 in the UFC but the ones that do become memorable and people think all russians are like that. 30 + years of the sport sambo has only made 3 champions, so i wouldnt say they are unstopable. Considering the fact that they all come to the ufc with 20- 0 cartels fighting tomato cans in the middle of nowhere, roided up to the bones and later cant reach top 10 i 'd say they are highly overated.
Their life is fighting it’s like teaching kids how to be good at something and making them do it 24/7 growing up of course they will be good at their craft. combat sambo. Im Nicaragua special forces, ive been to Russia and trained with spetsnaz, did courses with them. they also come here to train certain phases of our special forces. friday and saturday was fight days, we would have matches against our combat buddy and against anyone, maybe 15 or 30. Im pretty good with it but i remember a lot of times when i tried to take down one of these russian guys and it was like hitting a brick wall. you just have to accept the mauling youre about to receive.
Turned out they couldn't sambo their way out of 155mm shells.
where did you see this?@@ChucksSEADnDEAD
Sport Sambo is more like Judo than wrestling (I have some medals, so have an idea of what it is and isn't) and most of the highest level guys are Judo players too. Combat Sambo is pretty sporty in some regards, it's not as similar to MMA as ppl think, and scoring points with grappling is still the primary way most ppl win. Military/Combatives Sambo is another thing entirely, but the military is known to hold competitions similar to Combat Sambo such as Armeyskiy Rukopashniy Boy
That sip of coffee was joe curious if guy was on the sauce
Now wait until the Mongolians start to focus on MMA. They'll dominate it like they're dominating Japanese Grand Sumo.
Aren't they making headway in judo?
Y
There is shavkath from kazkahisthan
Let's not get carried away now. You can't compare Japanese sumo and MMA
@@thatindiandude4602they are easily a top 10 judo nation, maybe top 5.....it's hard to say because international judo has an incredibly deep talent pool.

DC is such a class act.
Both of them are legends of the sport like Sonnen. They helped for the understanding and notoriety of the sport. Great analyst and fighters
Sonnen is only a legend in his own mind
The thing is most olympic wrestlers do not compete in mma because they don't believe that they can do well in a sport with mixed disciplines.
Same for boxers and kickboxers, it’s fairly difficult to round out your game enough to just stay at the best range against elite fighters to utilize your primary skill, let alone become a well-rounded threat.
Did they personally tell you that? Lol
They have no reason to compete in MMA, it isn't super high paying either.
The ones who actually went to MMA became world champions easily, DC 2 division champ Cejudo 2 division champ
Brock wasn't even Olympic level but he managed to win the title and defended it lol
D.C IS THE MAN. SO HUMBLE. LOVE U BROTHER
DC forgot to mention how many of these guys popped.
Jones is the most obvious tho and "the goat"
same goes to American athletes, in fact Americans are the most suspicious athletes knowing that they have the much better technologies to cover their asses from getting caught
@@maymunadamget on your knees bish
3:33 that was a wholesome account from both men

Talent is nothing without hard work. Dagestan gyms brought this mentality to another level!
That’s the real secret; the dudes from Dagestan are just tougher and work harder.

The other one is already in Bellator now. Elite striking, Elite grappling.
Coming from Dc in a wrestling match yes that Russian fighter could beat Jon in a wrestling match. But when it comes to mma Jon is something else. We have to see how he does against contenders before thinking he could beat Jon.
Failure has different consequences in places like Russia
It's ran by a murderous dictator who doesn't give af about the people and literally has his political opponents murdered. These are the facts
@@nettlecarrier8259 It's not.... It's north korea 2
@@johnsnow5393 no it's not.

Anyone that doesn't appreciate DC hasn't heard him speak a single minute outside of a interview or commentary
Zabit was even cooler than these wrestling dominant guys. Imagine Zavit with good health and motivation.
he's the most complete fighter i've seen.
Those kicks bro,like a ninja
@@surfingtothestarshe was gassing too fast He would never do 5 rounder. Flashy= not energy efficient.
It’s amazing how humble and likeable DC is in general but then whenever Jon Jones name is brought up he becomes so salty and snide lol
DC just wishing someone on earth could beat JJ😂
DC is constantly looking for who s gonna beat John jones is hilarious. Bro let it go.
😂😂👍👍
DC is the fkn best! Love that dude!
You see all these guys in mma, boxing who struggle to be ferocious and you see DC who normally would have put to sleep most of them and he is so genuinely easy going and normal person.
DC used this guy in camp, training for Bones... and lost.
DC casually talking about Gutsalov beating Jones is the height of disrespect. All these wrestlers have technique and cardio... but to switch from a grapple to an MMA fight with Jones...? Stop it. They don't have the heart for hamd to hand warrior combat.
DC humble nature is beyond refreshing.
I always felt that Russian and Croatian guys are the toughest in the world, there's something about them 🤌
They are actually related
Croatians? Lol. Those are dagestani’s. Not real russians either
@elbb6623 Russian. And Croatians I added because of their history in the sport and overall. What are you being salty about? Dagestan is in Russia you plonker
@@elbb6623who r u trying to fool😂😂.. we got Google nowadays... Dagestan is part of Russia, Dagestanis holding Russian passports r Russian citizens... So they r Russians by definition.

Daniel Cormier just coming up with these hypothetical scenarios and fantasies so he can imagine Jon losing. He's coping bad. 😂
Remember when we found out that Khabib and Islam were on steroids since young boys as part of a "vitamins" program? Or is everyone just gonna ignore that?
They will I lived in Ukraine over 10 years I know they all on steroids if you competing even for universities they make you take steroids now you tell me what they give olympics
Steroid babies + inbred brain + no striking while wrestling UFC makes them successful.
Jon Jones was caught with PEDs 4 times... Soo.. Its OK for others to do it.
There is also a Senegalese wrestling tradition. I've watched some of it, and it doesn't just involve grappling but punches as well.
Greetings from Russia, guys). Thank you for the kind words. Удачи и успехов вам👍
That's a pretty special thing to do Mr cormier godbless lots of respect to you and Dagestan people
Think about it, growing up in difficult and harsh environments with limited job or career opportunity to break through SES economic barriers, with access to top notch training from early childhood with a singular focus of becoming the best at the sport/discipline, refined through years of multiple daily training sessions.
They are all on "Vitamins" from a young age.
Wow DC you said that!
DC is such a straight up no BS guy with great stories.
Guy just randomly pulls out russian accent from time to time 😂
DC really had his ass whooped by this Gusalov guy 😂
As a Muslim my two favourite Christian MMA fighters are DC and Dustin Poirier ❤
It would have been nice if dc used his wrestling against Jon and stipe. Instead dc thought he was in a kickboxing match
Mashallah! What a wonderful guy he is! Not nationality, but humanity matters. DC for foreign minister! May Allah guide him! ❤
0:41: He was a Monster! Monster!
Dc always mention and compare Jon
Answer: the "vitamins" they get from a young age.
In m interviews khabib had said they train for dominate position vs bjj in America spends time on bottom.
That's BJJ in the whole world.
He literally just beat hugs people till submission every fights. He wins the same way everytime
DC is a legend
I need to watch the full episode.
unstopable?caio borralho alone has defeated 5 russians and he's not even in the ranks.
Agreed
You really can't say _anybody_ can beat Jon Jones unless they do actually beat him.....on paper is not in the cage.
Their life is fighting it’s like teaching kids how to be good at something and making them do it 24/7 growing up of course they will be good at their craft. The Dagestan formula is hard work and discipline, also they’re super competitive and have an iron will. Pretty much sharks, reminds me of how talented black peoples are at sports in general and the Russians are talented in terms of fighting
I used to work in Russia. It's literally like going back in time 30 years. They have nothing. They have to fight to survive.
Let’s not forget they’ve been juicing since childhood
already showing you’re mentally weak, steroids don’t teach skills and technique 😂
