Alastin regenerating skin nectar before and after laser procedures. Alastin regnerating skin nectar claims to enhance treatment outcomes and reduce recovery time; it is designed to complement skin-rejuvenating procedures (e.g., laser, microneedling, IPL).

    I agree with you 100% this should not be used as a standard moisturizer. Have you seen the research where they did biopsies of the skin pre/post nectar use? That's what convinced me that this really works in helping build new collagen.

    I used this after my co2 ablation and it is 100% worth it. Having said that , I spent over a thousand for the treatment. I had a subsequent laser treatment and did not spend the money again and I should have. Petroleum breaks me out and is very, very drippy because your skin weeps ( gross ) while your healing, so this product does not add to that weeping. The ablation was the best thing I have ever done for my skin besides Retin A.

    I wanted to know more about this product since I had recently undergone a laser treatment on a burn scar, it was given to me by my plastic surgeon and honestly has done wonders for the scar reduction and healing. I would absolutely talk to your dermatologist/ plastic surgeon about using these treatments after procedures. I think they really aided in the recovery and healing process. I also fully agree this probably shouldn’t be purchased for everyday skincare use either

  • @NNeva10

    The Nectar is meant to be used 2 weeks prior to a treatment (laser,peel, etc) and 2 weeks after. The restorative complex is the “sister product” of nectar that can used after 2 weeks post treatment onwards. The ultra light moisturizer is the moisturizer that is post-treatment safe and for regular use. If you don’t plan on doing laser or chemical peel treatments, the nectar wouldn’t be your product of choice. The restorative complex would be a better option to help improve your skin. I’ve done the training for all of their products and you really need to understand the purpose or each product and its benefits. You can mix and match some items or cycle them depending on what your lifestyle is like. Skin care lines design their products to work in congruence with each other. You can’t just review one product.

    Hi Dr. Dray, I have used two bottles of this very pricey product because it was recommended by my dermatologist to use post Infini Microneedling. I didn't really see any results from the product, but also had no negative side effects from the procedure. I would purchase again for use after a procedure only if my derm recommended it. Thank you so much for your review. Please say hello to your mom and Tybee. Have a great weekend!

    My dermatologist advised me to acquire this product as a complement to my microneedling sessions. I've undergone three treatments so far. During the initial treatment, I did not purchase the skin nectar, but for the subsequent two treatments, I acquired and applied it two weeks before and after the procedure. I observed a notable difference, particularly in terms of recovery time, when using the skin nectar. I highly recommend it.
    However, when it comes to integrating this product into my daily skincare routine, I align with Dr. Dray's perspective and opt to pass definitively. The cost is too high, and I believe it may yield similar results as an over-the-counter moisturizer from a drug store.

    I just bought the Alastin restorative skin complex from the Alastin Co and I literally had an allergic reaction to the serum!!! I was shocked because it made my skin itchy with red spots and it dried my skin out! I had wondered if Rosehip seed oil was in it because I am very allergic to Rosehip seed oil! Rosehip seed oil causes my skin to get real red and rough and tight crinkly skin. The Alastin restorative complex caused me a similar reaction to the Rosehip seed. I guess I'm the rare person where I had the opposite effect!! I know that Alastin is a fantastic skincare line and most people do well with their products but for some reason I had a negative reaction to that one product! Also Rosehip seed oil is supposed to be for sensitive skin and most people can use it. It's weird because I can tolerate some strong skin products like The Ordinary 30% glycolic acid with great results.

Would you be able to do a video on that sometime? I'm mostly just wondering about oils, moisturizers, body wash or any sunscreen recommendations that you might have? I am a licensed aesthetician and we carry this line in our medspa. This isn’t a moisturizer so to categorize it as such is wrong. It is a treatment “serum” to use prior to these invasive treatments to aid in the healing and building of collagen. It is meant to be used 2-3 weeks before the procedure and 2-3 weeks after. You can then transition to a normal serum or skin care product. To discount the recommendation of an esthetician or other service care provider just because they aren’t dermatologist preforming the treatment perpetuates the idea we are less than. We all have a place in the skin care community. We go to school and do continuing education to help our clients with their skin. We aren’t just recommending products because we want commission. I agree it is a very high price point and can recommend other products if price is the sole factor of not purchasing it but we also have to manage expectations with the less than products. I like it I’ve used it myself and have recommended it to my clients for various invasive treatments and they also love it and see a difference. It’s not for everyone but if you can afford it it is a great line/product

Barring a post-procedural situation, I have to avoid any silicone-based skin care/sunscreens, since I use water-based foundation and primer, and silicone and water based don't layer well together (silicone based makes my face feel suffocated/worsens my acne). It is so challenging to find products I can use, much less a product line, because so many products are silicone based, and some websites don't even list their ingredients. Thanks for this informative video Dr. Dray. Have been following your channel since last 2 months and you are doing such amazing work to explain minute details. So I have been booked for Face Subcision + PRP for my Acne Scarring and the Physician has recommended Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar and Alastin Sooth + Protect Recovery Balm for recovery. Do you recommend I use only Nectar and mix it with Cerave Healing Ointment, as both above Alastin Products are extremely pricey here in Toronto.
    Appreciate your knowledge and help

I use Panoxal’s benzoyl peroxide on folds of the skin and my chest and back for odor and mild acne. If I use the product all over, could it replace the cleansing I have to do with the loofah? I love the texture and feel of this product. I think it’s worth the price if you can afford it, and definitely after a laser/cosmetic procedure. If you’re spending money doing lasers at a derm for $200-$1000 then you should have no problem paying for this product. @Dr. Dray what moisturizers on the market have this texture and feel? I think for cosmetic treatments it’s a must have: gentle, clean, and non-irritating. I would love to find a moisturizer with this same texture and feel of matte dry silicone. It almost feels like Supergoop Unseen SPF. Anyone on here have any recommendations for a clear, clean, fragrance free, silicone, matte moisturizer? Please share! 😉

    @t.sarvis9140 Год назад +10

    Ok, this is just my experience with Alastin, so take it for what it's worth. Sorry if it's a little long.
    I had my first Morpheus treatment 6 weeks ago and was given a small tub of nectar to use after. I was lightly swollen except on the neck which was quite inflamed. Small dots scabbing, nothing major. I used the nectar and within 3 days my skin was much better. I was concerned about a small patch around my nose so they gave me several more pumps worth. I had only intended to do one treatment this year, but the results on my neck were impressive, so I found another credit card and signed up for two more. I had read that using the nectar before treatment was recommended so for four days before my next treatment I applied the nectar. When I went in for treatment this time, it was much more painful than the first time and there was more swelling and bleeding. I realized ( too late) that I had scheduled it on r last day of my period. I got through it, looked in the mirror... Baggy around the eyes, neck red and inflamed. A few raised welts around the mouth and cheeks. The office gave me another product to put on my face after, but I still had a couple of (tatcha golden spoon) scoops of nectar left so I used it that night and in the morning. Amazingly, within 24 hours, all the swelling was gone, and most of the redness. The only thing I did differently from the first time was applying the nectar beforehand. I am hoping they come up with a trial size nectar before my next treatment because I don't want to pay $200 either!!

    So happy to have seen this. I had a laser procedure done a couple of years ago. I used the Soothe and Protect recovery balm. It was great post-procedure, and i use it as a moisturizer for any laser or surgical procedure (it's Vaseline+ it appears). I was "told" I should use the whole line as my permanent skincare regimen (sunscreens, facial cleanser). I dropped a few $$$ before i decided that it just wasn't sustainable on MY budget. Glad to hear I'm not missing out! Love your videos. FACTS FACTS, plus, the real teller that you have integrity is that you don't only discuss high end brands but all affordability ranges. YES. Yes it is worth it. I had several RF microneedling treatments, and my skin ended up looking rough even months later. On the last treatment I bought this. At the same time, I had major chemical irritation on my face from where I went overboard trying to fix a new breakout. I put it on my face, the areas I had previously treated with rf microneedling, and the latest area, and it worked INCREDIBLY. I even put it over an active breakout, which took a major leap of faith, and the next day it was flattened out. I was worried about covering my face with dimethicone because I had to pause on the actives while my face was so irritated, and I didn’t want to break out even more. Would I use it when my skin is in perfect, non irritated condition, NO. But my god, during a skin crisis, YES.

    So I just bought the Alastin skin care line . I’m getting laser treatment in a few weeks and I researched and heard this would help the procedure before and after. I’ve been using the products for about 5 days now. My skin has been getting more and more itchy and red and tonight it’s swollen as well and it looks like I have a sunburn. I don’t understand cause this is supposed to be good for sensitive skin. What should I use if THIS causes me problems? I’m glad I found out before my procedure…that would have been TERRIBLE if I used this to heal me and it caused me an allergic reaction. Anyway, hope to hear from you.(and I’m not using an retinol or exfoliants. I’m using the cleanser, the nectar, eye treatment, moisturizer and sunscreen)
