I dont see why they would make a studio version. It already has an Audio Interface, LCD Screens and better pads. The Mk3 combines the portability of the the MK2 with the power of the studio
Mitch Delaware no it’s not ur still tied to the fuckin wall my man. Stand alone my ass you still got wires hanging off it. And if you gotta studio ur gonna have other gear anyway. The standalone argument is stupid for maschine because the whole point of maschine was to use ur comps power with a super fast hardware workflow. That + having plug ins integrated and lol the fuckin thousands of presets and sounds ni has made over the past two decades at ur fingertips. Ur booboo stand alone Akai piece don’t even have plugins!!! Lmfaooo what’s the point of that? In maschine I can the finest itb compressor, eq and tape emulations at my fingertips mapped and ready to go! You can’t say Akai is superior sonically. Maybe standalone woulda maybe been a thing back when maschine was at version 1.1-1.5 but when 1.6 came out with plugin support it became a whole new fuckin animal!
Mitch Delaware and another point why standalone is fuckin retarded. You are just gonna wanna mixture finished beat on the computer any way lmfao. This ain’t the 90s
Same too with PUSH2 - IMHO you need to power to light it up, and it is lively colour with the Push, it maps directly to the Ableton tracks, so you know exactly what tracks or scene you are working on. It too has pedel input for when you wish you have 3 hands. Push2 is well pimmed that is for sure. What you cant get over is the number of pads between the Mk2 and Push2 - but then they cant copy each other with the - Me Also, you need unique differentators (Patent Pending - yawn) . So with the MK2 you have less choice which could be a good thing, it makes space for other stuff. With Push2 you dont need to look at Ableton, which I guess is the plan for MK2 and Machine. I quite like the look of the studio version. There are advantages and disavantages to touch surfaces versa a precise knob. We are used to iphone touch, to pinch or expand a waveform, to zoom in to just the rich bit. Then trigger start on the right bar. For me I am more interested in sound slicing and building sound scapes. You have to consider the affordance offered when playing live - its Loud/Noisy/Dark and Cramped and Shakey. Is this going to be desk mounted or hung with a gitar strap? Both these look desk mounted, Push2 is for sure.
it switch between either on or off, or off and on, i can never remember which it is. its basically the same thing as a light switch, only theres more power
And editing midi notes and velocities is a fucking sham in the software. But they don't care about that, they care about selling us more plastic garbage. They can take a flying fuck.
NIs rep is really informative and intelligent, i can tell hes really immersed with this product and loves its design. Other companies should take note that this is a really good way to sell a product because it makes me want to preorder it now, not only that but now I feel as if I am more in tune with the minute details of this product as opposed to what gimmicks could be had. That being said, i am probably still going to buy an op-z instead of this.
Sold. Take my money. There's at least 10 things this adds to my workflow vs my current MK2. So glad I resisted the temptation to get a Jam or a Studio.
I wish folks would just stop trying to compare this MPC and/or Push. They're all different beasts that are great in their own right for their intended purpose and audience. It's a dumbass argument to have.
I am something of a beginner with controllers and DAWs; will this help me to actually create something, rather than simply buggering around with sounds? If not, what will? Thank you.
Surprised by the amount of hate here. They added better screens and a built in sound card for the same price! The touch strip is clearly a useful addition too. Imagine what they might do if they replace the Maschine Studio. Combo jack inputs with phantom power? Phono inputs? Standalone? You never know.
OG Jawdinz As a boom bap maker and original music composer myself, I have to agree. But in all honesty, they probably don't really need all the stuff they are complaining about. I think it's just snobbery and the egos of sucky music makers running rampant.
Let me see if I understand this.... This is the Machine mkIII (3)but the Maschine Studio was not mkII (2) right? So there is still a chance that a new Maschine Studio mkII (2) will be announced in another 6 months or so??? I'll just keep banging out with my Maschine studio... My MPC-X just arrived from Fed-ex 2 weeks ago so it doesn't matter but I hate the MPC 2.0 software.... Akai really needs to get another company to design their software for them, in stand alone mode it's great though....Reminds me of my MPC 4000 just updated.
thinking of buying one of these for on the road purposes i have the studio but i prefer to keep it in my studio and this new look and upgrades have me pushing to get this new maschine 👍
Nice if it worked with Ableton. Like the jog-wheel selector. Now all Push2 needs is to add a joy-stick jog. Like the IO, which is moving close to stand alone device, so I have the headphone plug into the device not my PC. But you are wondering is this for a performance or production or jack of all trades!
I saw another video where they demonstrated using the joy-stick jogwheel thing to select tracks and mix in Ableton. Apparently they designed to integrate pretty closely with Ableton.
To me it looks like a worthy update, really like the styling it looks to be reminiscent of the Ableton Push II. It definitely has improved functionality over the mark 2 and a couple of features the current Studio version doesn't have. Which makes me think what will they do to the Maschine Studio Mk 2 as most users would expect the flagship machine should have everything the cheaper models have and more. If I didn't already have a Maschine studio I'd probably go for this as in truth I'd prefer the form factor was the same as the Maschine Jam. On the strength of NI's recent updates it would seem that the Maschine studio 2 will make an aggressive challenge against the AKAI MPC platform. They seem to have packed a lot into the Maschine mk 3, maybe they are about to take the leap of producing a stand alone version of the maschine which would be direct competition to Akai's 2K flagship and most probably cheaper.
HP outputs drives all of your headphones very very very confidently, i get it. Glad you have so many headphones. Use them with joy. My questions: - Does it have phantom power? - Mic input seems 1/4" why not XLR? - Is there HiZ option for instruments? - Is there phono input? - Can mic and line in be used at the same time or they are canceling each other? - How about adding couple of USB ins? Novation did it. Shouldnt be so hard to add 2 more USBs no? So someone explain why would i pay for this soundcard which i have better?
MK1, II, Studio and Jam. I think I have my share of controllers! Now I need a program that does not take forever to load, libraries don't go missing and the pads follow the scenes so I can easily see where I am in the project. "Ideas" mode just confused the whole arrangement panel. Any thoughts!
I own Maschine Studio & Jam, and I know and use the heck out of it. I know this question is quite subjective, but would it be worth purchasing the MK3 knowing I have the Studio? Any responses appreciated, thanks.
Damn it! I am currently awaiting the arrival of my new Mk 2. I soooo wish I would've waited a month. Go figure. I can't believe it's gonna be the same price too.
I'm just wondering 'cause with the keyboard they are talking much about it, and the Ableton integration seems to be really deep, but no words on that when taking about Maschine MK3.
Why not stand alone man? I love my mk2 but mpc is going hard with the stand alone. I thought this was it the next maschine I get will be when the stand alone mk comes out I hate that I have to take my laptop every where but the built in interface feature is nice.
But does it actually match the form factor of other Maschine devices? Maschine Jam sure didn't match Maschine mk II. And is it the same size as previous versions?
I used the RS7000 in the past as it was new. Wish they would re-build as MK2 version or RS9000 or something like that. (Also waiting for the Pioneer to update the Toraiz )
I got a mpc live and I'm going to get thing sorted too. I don't know why people keep sticking to their own guns with one brand, I got many Akai samplers that are all different n do different things. So why not build up ure arsenal to get the best of both worlds. In the synth world or you don't see this kind of snobbery. Which is what it is, Akai or machine. Do you, add a theromin and some bagpipes and don't be a nob
Ok, this thing is sweet and I've held off with my MK1 for years waiting for the MK3 to drop, but MAN it would be the shit if it had CV outs! Nonetheless, it's still amazing and I'm upgrading.
I've got both Maschine Mk3 & Akai MPCX. The Maschine does not work with Logicx very well at all, the latency is unusable. To fix the latency you have to switch it back and forth to midi mode but it drifts back out almost immediately which is a real shame.
scyhte82 The product specialist also knows that the vast quantities of this piece of gear are going to be sold OUTSIDE of Germany and that it would be to their benefit to pronounce the anglicized version of the name so as to not alienate the large numbers of non German speaking customers they have around the world. Plus calling it Maschina sounds weird to the English speaking ear.... It sounds like Nick trying to make it sound fancy or something.
To all you MPC fan boys, do you realise NI changed the game when the original Maschine come out, It was only then Akai decided to jump back into the market.
Developing the integrated OS, custom hardware and software for a standalone version would cost a huge amount. Including essentially a full computer within the device would also make the retail price rocket (MPC X is almost four times the cost). As crazy as it sounds, iMaschine does everything I would need when I'm on the move. I can't see myself whipping out Mk3 on the bus to make a beat. If I am going to be using it, I'd always have my laptop with me anyway.
Stand alone would have been nice I agree, it's not hard to do but manufacturers do everything around price point, when they know that consumers will buy product x whether it's from NI or Akai or whoever, companies try to perfect what they can offer at the competitive price range. If they offer a stand alone product and the price goes up but it has less features and it will have to have less features b/c features are CPU intensive and this requires more R&D which takes more time and money, but if what they offer is perceived by the consumer as less functionality per dollar spent it will flop so companies shy away from pushing the envelope when they can just perfect something that people already like. Unfortunately.
Amazing, to this day they still won't let you record your own chords. A feature that was around in many keyboards since the 80's. But of course, Ni is much more interested in you adopting their closed proprietary system and buying their content. The software its self-needs soem work but they bascially haven't touched it for two years. have you tried editing multiple velocities..but of course, they dont care about that, they care about locking you in and selling you more and more sounds and samples you will rarely if ever use
2 years later, still can't find any support for Linux. Is there something like the MK3 that does provide good functionality with Linux? I'll just buy that instead then.
Is it my imagination or is NI really pushing Maschine towards the Hip Hop market?I remember a time when this was the product for EDM music. If so, then they should pay attention to the forum and help us guys & girls out! I still never got my expansion pack for purchasing Jam!
Native Instruments is patenting a twistable joystick? Ok then... What a wonderfully great idea there, good thing it hasn't ever been thought of by anyone else in the world before NI. It looks like a really great midi controller, but that kind of "on a computer" patenting bothers me, even if its different because it's "on a music device."
I kind of get lost with these controllers. So many layers upon layers upon layers of control and so much complexity with all of these modes. Despite this controllers don't control half of the things you want them to. I often feel like I have to learn controls to get to my controls which is just putting an unnecessary layer or intermediary between direct instant control of every the parameter. Like I have to learn and remember so many things just to get to things I could easily do with a mouse. A mouse is another 'intermediary of control' though. I wish for a touch screen future.
The Maschine presenter is very professional and knowledgeable.
this guy is the cenk of Native Instruments and I love it
The lock and snapshot is an awesome feature!
This will be my very first Machine purchase! cant wait to get it!
As soon as you buy this a standalone one will come out
kb productions yup
kb productions already waiting
YA BUT ITS COST WILL BE SO HIGH, U MIGHT AS WELL GET THIS ONE
I dont see why they would make a studio version. It already has an Audio Interface, LCD Screens and better pads. The Mk3 combines the portability of the the MK2 with the power of the studio
Still waiting...
If you got one of these then gotta pair it with a keystep mini keyboard or some such too for the best results from a musician point of view
Just start my the MK3 ( in fact 930 pages manual) .. awesome... welcome to future sound
Wow, truly amazing!
Realtime warping and pitchshift needed!!!
Also standalone so your not tied to your pc
Mitch Delaware no it’s not ur still tied to the fuckin wall my man. Stand alone my ass you still got wires hanging off it. And if you gotta studio ur gonna have other gear anyway. Step into right direction NI! Cool review as always with Sonicstate! :)
Savage bit of kit
What about Pulse Width Modulation?
You can probably do this from the mk2 hardware. Load up massive, select Pulse PWM as a wavetable and adjust the position right from the Instrument.
Will they add a Studio, Mikro and Jam version of this? It would make sense to have Jam integrated in the new Studio version.
Wait...can you explain what a power button does again?
Brighter lights

zebble ganubi your profile pic looks like it's probably offensive to black people
I got one of these recently, (I know, behind the times ) and I haven't even scratched the surface of all the possibilities yet
It's basically a 4x4 Push 2 + sound interface.
And that's a really good thing. Pretty sad it's not actually a 4x4 Push 2 for Ableton.
Clark's Bowling Club yeah Push 2 is a bit too complicated to me & im a native Ableton user lol.
All this is great but did I miss something.. What about updates to the software we still need real time time stretching, etc..
Exactly... like wtf? Imagine having to manual stretch in Traktor?
And editing midi notes and velocities is a fucking sham in the software. But they don't care about that, they care about selling us more plastic garbage. They can take a flying fuck.
@@harrymerchant8944 Calm down, b-tch. Relax.

Just got Komplete 12 Ultimate and I'm buying an MK3 tomorrow. So much production to be made 🙌🏾

Crispy, juicy displays. Now I'm hungry.
Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3 will be sometime?
I have to admit, I'm a little impressed.
Maschine is fun af
i like it!
I own Maschine Studio & Jam, and I know and use the heck out of it. I know this question is quite subjective, but would it be worth purchasing the MK3 knowing I have the Studio? Any responses appreciated, thanks.
Boris is a talented guy
These 1/4" cables sir...Where can I get those?
Does the same integration to KKMK2 apply to the Maschine studio, or only the MK3?
so it has fx now will we be able to still do modulation with the new fx on the old controllers when they update the software?
Thank you.
Maschine Studio version is coming wait for it wait for it!
This is incredible!
Any idea if NI has something new in the making in 2020?
Does it have a flux capacitor ?
Wow that's pretty sweet. The audio interface and midi ports was a very good move. Push killer? Haha
Fuck no
Total push killer, Ableton is dead. :)
This seems like a good time to upgrade from the Maschine MK1 I've been using for 7-8 years.
I sold my maschine 1 so I'm going to get this I have the mpc renn this will be a good addition to my studio
Damn it! I am currently awaiting the arrival of my new Mk 2. I soooo wish I would've waited a month. Go figure. I can't believe it's gonna be the same price too.
Richard Farabaugh cancel it or send it back.
I'd return it.
Richard Farabaugh Guitar Center had MK2s for $400...not $600, so I'd send it back regardless & either wait for this or buy the MK2 for $400.
MPC LIVE....ALL DAY!
Can you record into the Maschine without use of a computer?
Can this nudge notes like the studio can?
Are the chords outputted via midi out?
These look good to me. I don't understand the negativity around them
Will there be an Ableton Tamplate, like on the Keyboard?
I'm just wondering 'cause with the keyboard they are talking much about it, and the Ableton integration seems to be really deep, but no words on that when taking about Maschine MK3.
Stupid question which maschine is better MK3 OR MK STUDIO ?
Did I hear a slip where he said NI was coming out with pads on a keyboard??next??
Why not stand alone man? I love my mk2 but mpc is going hard with the stand alone. I thought this was it the next maschine I get will be when the stand alone mk comes out I hate that I have to take my laptop every where but the built in interface feature is nice.
Dre Post Ecuador standalone is retarded and the whole opposite point of maschine
Ipad??
Welp. 🤔
hilarious
Ave Mcree will they have ghost notes like FL???
same
Nice controller. Software is still unable to Change Tempo between Scenes.
But does it actually match the form factor of other Maschine devices? Maschine Jam sure didn't match Maschine mk II. And is it the same size as previous versions?
not gonna lie. This is so damn fresh, especially for live performance :D
I have MK2 I really like it but I think maschine is dropping waaaaaaaay to many in too short of a time. My question is why?
Do you hear seagulls at 8.50?
Yeah, it was hot and we had the window open!
I don't understand what this with the lock is. Why can't you do that without the lock?
(I don't understand most of it to be honest)
Good video.
System requirements are actually quite high. Anyone have problems with this aspect?
Yamaha RS7000 had 5 scene memory (similar to Lock here) and mute memory slots... This seems more "Live" to me than Push :)
And standalone - I wish Yamaha would re-enter the marketplace and blow these out of the water - RS9000 anyone?
I used the RS7000 in the past as it was new. Wish they would re-build as MK2 version or RS9000 or something like that. (Also waiting for the Pioneer to update the Toraiz )
Push 2 vs MK3... Thoughts?
I got a mpc live and I'm going to get thing sorted too. I don't know why people keep sticking to their own guns with one brand, I got many Akai samplers that are all different n do different things. So why not build up ure arsenal to get the best of both worlds. In the synth world or you don't see this kind of snobbery. Which is what it is, Akai or machine. Do you, add a theromin and some bagpipes and don't be a nob
How much does it coast. Money? thanks
Am I correct in stating this piece of equipment is mainly targeted to EDM producers?
Ok, this thing is sweet and I've held off with my MK1 for years waiting for the MK3 to drop, but MAN it would be the shit if it had CV outs! Nonetheless, it's still amazing and I'm upgrading.
I heard it comes with a copy of ableton live. Is this true at all?
I've got both Maschine Mk3 & Akai MPCX. The Maschine does not work with Logicx very well at all, the latency is unusable. To fix the latency you have to switch it back and forth to midi mode but it drifts back out almost immediately which is a real shame.
Kaaaabooooom. Shame there's no cross grade option for us but hey. What a great controller and with an interface included......... Nice work
Why is Nick saying "Maschina" when NI's own rep says "machine"??
he tryin to make it a thing xD
no, it's actually the correct pronounciation. it's german. and the product specialist should know that since he is german.
scyhte82 The product specialist also knows that the vast quantities of this piece of gear are going to be sold OUTSIDE of Germany and that it would be to their benefit to pronounce the anglicized version of the name so as to not alienate the large numbers of non German speaking customers they have around the world. Because people do what they want and like, not what you think they should do.
To all you MPC fan boys, do you realise NI changed the game when the original Maschine come out, It was only then Akai decided to jump back into the market.
This thing looks stunning. Just get the 3.0 software up and this thing is gonna rule.
They should have made it operate standalone with its audio interface!!
Needs way too much resources, but we're getting very close.
Developing the integrated OS, custom hardware and software for a standalone version would cost a huge amount. Including essentially a full computer within the device would also make the retail price rocket (MPC X is almost four times the cost). If I am going to be using it, I'd always have my laptop with me anyway.
Its not for you on a bus haha. Standalone would be for on a stage/live environment where a computer is just an extra haste and risk.
Well, sounds like one of those MPCs is for you, then.
Stand alone would have been nice I agree, it's not hard to do but manufacturers do everything around price point, when they know that consumers will buy product x whether it's from NI or Akai or whoever, companies try to perfect what they can offer at the competitive price range. Geez a shot
this is like the NI version of ableton push, makes maschine look a lot more usable
Cool³ NI still rocks. Sometimes...
Maschine standalone had made my day. Good iteration but my Maschine 1 gets dusty because of that.
"Yes so basically we took the old Maschine and turned it into and MPC while we made it look more like a PUSH".
EightySix 😂😂😂
sounds good to me.
Amazing, to this day they still won't let you record your own chords. A feature that was around in many keyboards since the 80's.
But of course, Ni is much more interested in you adopting their closed proprietary system and buying their content. si!
2 years later, still can't find any support for Linux. Is there something like the MK3 that does provide good functionality with Linux? I'll just buy that instead then.
COMFORT FIT!!!
What kind of instrument is this
digital sequencer
Is it my imagination or is NI really pushing Maschine towards the Hip Hop market?I remember a time when this was the product for EDM music. If so, then they should pay attention to the forum and help us guys & girls out! I still never got my expansion pack for purchasing Jam!
Native Instruments is patenting a twistable joystick? Ok then... What a wonderfully great idea there, good thing it hasn't ever been thought of by anyone else in the world before NI.
It looks like a really great midi controller, but that kind of "on a computer" patenting bothers me, even if its different because it's "on a music device."
Nearly slipped out on Sonic Talk
No look PC?
do i need intel i5 to play maschina mk3
