    Charlie,
Great tips. But I would like to add a couple.
First whenever I purchase high price (Metal) scenic details, like figures, I ALWAYS take a bit of modeling time to cast a mold.
In this CoVid-19 quarantine lockdown I have been experimenting with Silicon in water moldings. No I am not yet proficient. But Epoxy molds I have raised myself to a level competence. SO...
When I buy small scenic parts, before painting, weathering, amputating, or gluing, i make molds of them. Then when I need a batch of such items I just make my own model castings. First it adds to my modeling artisanship. It gives me something to keep my hands active while watching the TV. And it reduces my modeling cost drastically.
Lastly, Charlie to keep the damn Rivet Counters at bay. Before attaching the hacked off figures into your train cabs or coaches paint the severed ends the color of the seating or flat Black. With certain glues the paint may limit adhesion. Beware!
    Great episode, Charlie

Recommendation from a model painter: Use the grey primer from halfords, much easier to see detail. Thin citadel with water instead of thinners and apply in two thin coats. A diluted flesh wash on the "fleshy bits" and a black wash (Citadel Nuln oil) on the uniform will really help.

Plus what would you say are the pros and cons that you have found using them on materials to which they are supposed to bond i.e. plastic, wood, metal and card etc. With your comments about health issues and wearing protective gear. Another informative video, delivered in a down-to-earth way, warts and all! One suggestion regarding the CA glue - don’t use it....... As for the spray can of accelerator talk about overkill. If you use it get a small pump bottle of accelerator, it is the better option and apply using a small plastic pipette to put a couple of drops on the joint. Using accelerator makes the CA very brittle, was there a reason you couldn’t just leave it to set for a minute or two? To fix the crew just use one of the tacky craft glues, more than strong enough and easy to remove later. Anyway thanks for your videos Charlie, always interesting and entertaining.

Absolutely worth doing. Not so important on heljan models as few locos come with cab interior lights but for those models that do its worth picking out the bulkhead details with a bit of paint. Very satifying and easy if youve removed the cab anyway.
Those quartz light bars that heljan fit are horrible and easy to break. Thankfully they are moving over to LEDs as models get retooled.

A suggestion for removing the bodies I use a guitar plectrum on all the lug points. I find that you need to ease all lugs before the body will come off sometimes and using the plectrum makes it so easy, because the plectrum is thin it does not distort the body of the loco. Also they don’t fall out as you try to remove the body and the plectrum is stiff without fear of body damage

Hi Charlie... .glues!! I was reluctant to use glue on the worm's couplings (to the Heljan class 35's cardan shafts) because this area is always going to have lubricant around and I didn't want to repeat this procedure again if the lubricant broke down the glue..... So what I did with the worm shaft was to use the wire cutters to carefully score the end of the shaft with a number of cuts into the metal. This roughened surface which I found was sufficient to allow the plastic universal joint coupling to push back on while effectively stopping the shaft turning in the coupling. ..... I had 4 to do so it seems to have worked very effectively. I practiced on an old motor shaft first to check how much pressure was needed with the wire cutters to just faintly make several cuts into the metal without damaging or distorting what I was trying to fix...... .

Crews in front look great when examined close up, ditto on your very simple sound improvement - well worthwhile, however not keen on the mini flying saucer in the opposite cab window! Like you I have found you have to experiment with speakers - installation, location, baffling and type, there can be surprising results! I wonder will we ever see drivers being raised and lowered into position as the engine reverses at either cab end (got to use those redundant DCC digital outputs for something), or perhaps a holographic display!!! Already on it thanks to your good self and Anyrail I’m basing it on a midterm image loose representation of Botley in Hampshire with some modellers licence of course no 3rd rail and the former branch towards Droxford and the like will revert to a fully operational branch with the current bay being used as a terminal platform in the off peak whereas the adjacent line will be reversible also to gain access to and from the branch Like the real Botley the down platform ends will work into an up/dn single With modellers licence again I’ll be putting tunnels in at each end ( I just don’t like too sharpe curves) so only 25% will actually be scenic! It looks good on paper I may of course tweak as Anyrail allows us to do that magic easily. Thank to your good self and other inspiring modellers I’m gaining confidence in planning.👍

I think an important part of fitting crews is which end is actually the front, especially if you're only going to have it face one way? Personally I always consider the "front" whichever the big round roof fan/vent is closest to, so for this specific example, I'd consider the front of this Hymek to be the "1 B 2 8" end instead of the "3 A 6 1" end.

Great work, what a broad skill set this hobby requires / develops. They do look better. “Offline” locomotives with drivers still in can look odd, not a problem when they are down the helix and hidden in the levels of Hades down below.
Probably not a CV query but I have not installed lighting on a couple of Loco’s for fear of the adding them to the DCC system more than the actual practical installation piece.
