    I'm definitely no expert on lease purchase programs BUT I'm smart enough to understand things and know when something seems legit or not. In my opinion, based on my conversations with Angie at Ascend Transportation, and what I've read and learned from a few of their drivers I've spoken with, this place is offering a real, very straight forward path to ownership on their Lease Purchase program. You're not a glorified company driver, you're actually treated like an independent contractor and you're mostly left alone.
    It's definitely worth looking into and learning more about the program, if you're serious about finding a good lease purchase opportunity with a real path to ownership.

    How do you make momey on $1.50 per mile

    • @truckingenius
      @truckingenius  4 месяца назад

      If you're grossing $1.50 per mile you're not even close to making money. BUT, if you're putting $1.50 per mile in your pocket AFTER all of your expenses (Truck pymt, maintenance, insurance, taxes, etc., etc.) then you're making a living. You'd take home $1500.00 for only 1,000 miles per week so you'd be making a living driving 2500-3000 miles per week every week.

    It is always a bad idea to lease a truck from the same company you depend on for your revenue, ALWAYS

    • @truckingenius
      @truckingenius  10 месяцев назад +1

      Not necessarily. That company has a BIG incentive to keep you rolling so you can pay for that truck. Sadly, that's the objective of many, meaning they don't care if you make a living they just want you to pay for that truck.
      Like WEL Companies for example. They actually have it in the language of their contract that they're to make sure you earn enough to make those payments each but but they don't guarantee you'll make a living

    • @truckingenius
      @truckingenius  10 месяцев назад

      So, it's kind of good and bad at the same time. You have to be sure you read and understand the contracts before you sign anything

      Look, everyone wants to complain about how “but you’re leaving money on the table”..
      Look…
      Unless you own your own truck OUTRIGHT, no payment at all. Own your own trailer. Have your own authority, and have contracted freight. You will ALWAYS be leaving money on the table, period.
      Sure financing your truck seperately from the carrier will get you a better deal. But you’re still paying on a truck.
      Picking your own loads on a load board and getting ratecons from the broker is a more straightforward deal than relying on the freight from your carrier, but that broker is the one telling you the rate and you have NO idea what the TRUE rate is, all you can do is go off what they’re telling you on that ratecon.
      This is the ONLY way to ensure you are making every cent possible and frankly most guys don’t want all that. That’s why Landstar and Mercer are as popular as they are.
      Someone will always get SOME cut of the pay. Stop worrying about what everyone else tells you to do with your business and work YOUR business to what suits YOUR needs, even if that’s leasing a truck from the carrier.

      You're not leasing the truck from ascend on the lease purchase it's thru a 3rd party TEL transport enterprise leasing. In addition to the lease purchase they have a straight lease thru Ryder or Penske you will never own the truck thru the straight lease but you aren't responsible for maintenance. I've been here a year and love it.
