The 69 body style of mustang is and always will be the best looking chassis. That start up was fantastic and that idle my goodness. Hands down if I grew up in that era THAT would have been my car. Even the 66 GTO lol awesome video
It’s not really that, it’s just that an engine is usually louder and more raspy/rough upon a cold start. You get this effect even on the most modern cars. But perhaps nostalgia does play into some of these older cars that are, in fact, harder to start
69 was always the best to me. Had one for a short time, Red, 351W Auto. Now a 13 S/C’d, Tremec 6spd somewhat 69/70 tribute. Cam phasers kill the dream of lumpy idle! Enjoy your ride!!!

My first Engine Swap i did in my 86 probably close to 20 years ago was an Original 69, 290 hp Windsor Engine that my Dad had laying around for awhile, we just Freshened it up, and also put in a Mild Hyd Flat Cam, some Headers, i think i went 12.9,s with that Combo in the 1/4 Mile, then i built a couple different Clevelands for it was going Low to Mid 11,s, then i Finally did my first Big Block, i don't think I'll ever go back to Small Engines, I'm at 521 now, still Stock Block, N/A Unported Trick Flow Street/Strip Heads, Solid Roller, Single 4150 Carb. Goes Low Nines on 275/60,s. Just curious your 572, Which Block you using ? A460 or Eliminator ? I'm looking into the Eliminator Premier Block, with the Billet Main Caps, will probably stay at 572 for now, so it'll last me a while, and can always go Bigger if i need to.

My uncle had the same year car. He parked it in the yard because the transmission failed when I was a child. Then let it sit there and rot into the ground for 15+ years at my grandfathers property. A man drove by once and asked to look at it, then offered my grandfather $4,000 for it. The car was not even worth that in my opinion it was so insanely rusted out. Me and my grandfather relayed the offer to my uncle. He acted like it was worth a easy $10,000+ and then years later he just sold it to a junkyard for $300.
We knew a family whose son had a 69 Mach 1 red.Last time I seen it in the back yard on blocks under a china berry tree.Sad sight.It looked orange bc of all the oxidation.IDK what happened to it but I know it was cherry back in the early eighties.Damn shame
My old car would always fire right up, sold it late last year, drove it daily, ultimately it wasn't my dream car, but it ran real well and i took care of it.
Modern cars don't just start up and go in cold weather like this. Look at all the people stranded every winter when their electric vehicles can't hold a charge due to cold weather. At least an old gas hog like this can be started and driven.

Yea, because in those days once you hit 25,000 miles you better be looking for a new car because by 50,000 it was dead on the side of the road, the only reason why those cars are any good is because they've been rebuilt to today's standards. Find me an orginal car from that time period, that had nothing done to it, that had over 100,000 miles, you can't.

The flat paint on the louvres was intentional. Metallic would be dangerous, creating bright “hotspots” on every angle and edge when the sun is overhead or behind the car. It would make it more difficult to see the glass. In addition, the louvres were there to shade the interior from heat. Hotspots would defeat that purpose.
I'm working on an engine swap on a 1999 Mustang GT. I installed a trooper 2003 engine. While the engine was out I took advantage and also rebuilt the tranny. As of today, Wed. March 21st 2023. The engine has cranked and started. However, fuel delivery seems to be an issue. I believe the fuel system module is assed up. Nevertheless, I hope in short order I can have my GT rolling like this '69, which sounds like a demon.
Question on your Mustang ornament just behind the rear side window...the round Mustang ornament. I knew someone back in 1967, 68, or69 that just bought a new Mustang, and the side ornament was stolen. He always knew it was oone of his so called friends that did it, but no one would ever admit it. I've been looking at Mustangs and yours is the only one I found that has it. Was it exclusively on only one year Mustang, or was it included oon 2 years or more? I swear it was in 1969, but may have been 1968. Which year did that side emblem get put on? And it seemed at the time that it was just hooked on lke a framed picture on a wall without any strong glue, or screw, or fastener. It was just hooked on which was strange for a new auto.Thanks for your feedback, and THUMBS UP!!!

There was a pair of studs with what looked like a regular nail head welded to the C pillar that the ornament slides down over to lock in place. Easy to remove by just hitting the ornament upwards. Same studs as used for the window trim, if they're broken off and you don't have a stud gun to replace them, Auveco #9877 works well. It's a 4-24 X 3/8 Phillips flat head screw with a shoulder to tighten against the sheet metal unlike regular all thread screws that aren't tight until seated to their head.

Had mine from ‘91 to ‘01 when I sold it. I had in mind to do ‘39 deluxe coupe but it didn’t happen. All these years later I’d go back to the Mach 1, it’s a perfect car in a bunch of ways.
I love how it literally sharted in the beginning. But it's so beautiful I wouldn't care if it sharted me right in the face. And it purrs so gently like a Bengal tiger during mating season.
Nothing personal guys but don't you hot rodders ever use a choke I have an mg with a 302 in it and I have a choke and I don't have that problems where it tries to start and fart and all that put a choke on a fast title for up until it warms up it'll be just fine
Sometimes choke isn’t enough especially if you don’t have a strong or right vacuum, if the carb bowl is dry from not having started it in a long time. Several reasons it may take a couple pumps and a couple tries to get these high compression engines idling on their own.

The louver should be painted in something like metallic black because it just looks off on such a wonderful machine
That's literally how they came from the factory, those are the original louvers, the matte finish on em is concourse correct.
