Folks might be interested to learn that The Dude was based on a real person. His name is Jeff Dowd. He was a producer that helped the Coen brothers get their start. He had such a unique personality that they decided to make a movie centered around a character based on him. I had the pleasure of running across Jeff Dowd several times, got to know him a bit. And yes, he's just like the lead character in The Big Lebowski.
Walter is John Milius. Both Milius and Goodman are from St Louis.

For anyone who doesn't know, there's a 2004 'remake' of Reefer Madness that is a self-aware musical comedy. It's absolutely fantastic and I recommend it to anyone I can.

The paradox with Reefer Madness is that the majority of people watches it high.
There is also a musical version for reefer madness from 2005. Very recommended

The license to grow hemp that is shown in the video reads, "Producer of Marihuana."

I actually laughed so hard that I had to wipe tears. Lebowski was definitely one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. The toilet seat though...

I would have expected a Reefer Madness: The Original and Reefer Madness: The Music joint trailer.
The original sucked but, the musical was fantastic. They should have just done this using the Bell musical version.
@@ErikGarrett completely agree with you! Going through comments to see how many fans of the musical there are and if im not the only weirdo who was OBSESSED with the movie at one point. My college years were spent merrily singing my favorite songs from the musical. To myself obviously.
Watch the 1937 version of Reefer Madness and then compare that to the 1942 USDA film, Hemp For Victory.
First time I saw RM was in a sociology class on addiction in college. We laughed thru the whole thing -- our professor had a great sense of humor.

I recently saw "The Big Lebowski" for the first time last year and the line about needing the flowchart to follow the plot was basically me when I watched it. And my mom was laughing so hard when I described my experience because it's one of her favourite movies.

OMG, I love that movie so much that I made my kids watch it (they were all over 16). They were not impressed. I watched Little Nicky with them....like 15 times and they give me grief. I actually like Little Nicky but am sure not going to tell them that.
