Dude! That thing is so sweet!!! I love the radio calling everything out. It makes it so realistic. You are a great flyer. Your brain works very fast to talk through everything and fly it. I bet you would love an F-86 (that was my first jet then an F-16). Very impressed with this model and especially the orange lights in the thruster! I also read that the F-16 was designed to slide sideways through the air so it could shoot as it slid to 180 degrees flat.
Thank you so much for posting this video, it really makes me excited for my e flite 16!!! I especially appreciate the setup portion, now I can feel confident on setting it up for its maiden flight! Love the content!
Thanks man! Let me know how it goes using my setup. Just remember, the cheapest insurance you can get is several preflight checks before committing to takeoff. 130mm is a nearly perfect CG point even for someone new to an F-16.
To fix the nose gear trim issue, I set one channel for rudder and another channel for the nose gear. Then I remove the trim on the rudder which we dont usually need so I can trim the nose gear without any affecting the rudder.
Great content Jon. I think I speak for many of us when I say your videos, more than other content creators, give us the insight and confidence to progress in this addictive hobby. Thank you.
Would you be interested in a step by step write up on how you do your setups? Especially tailerons and as3x landing rates. It would help immensely. I have the Freewing 90mm F16 and it does the best flat spins off all my jets. It’s a must to add to your hanger. It’s my favorite to fly. You will enjoy it thoroughly! Thanks for demonstrating what these jets can do! It’s pushed my skills to a whole new level.
Just an awesome display Jon and such a great model. I have had the same thing happen where I was taxing back and the e-clip popped off one of the mains. I thought I must of hit a rock perfectly for that to happen but now I'm hearing others experiencing it as well. Very weird. Ya, just a dap of CA cured it.
@@TwoBrosRC Yeah, I suppose you could unclip the trailing edge of the stab corners. There might be overall dimensional differences too, I’m not sure. I never flew anything but Blk 42s (P&W) at Luke and Blk 40s (GE) operationally. They were both blocks of the F-16CG, originally LANTIRN until we brought the first Fighter implementation of NVGs online. You can tell the NVG generation F-16Cs from the older ones because the old gold tinted canopy was not NVG friendly. We switched them to the new and improved smoke color tint after Hill and Misawa lost jets to poor light transmission and disorientation with NVGs on. So I only heard stories about the agility and G-onset of the F-16A model being absolutely brutal. Some Flight Safety Officer class going through the AFSC at Kirkland did an anonymous survey of all USAF F-16C pilots, and more than half of us said we thought we had G-LOC’d in the jet. That’s with the reduced stab. The F-16 was a masterpiece from General Dynamics. Even in RC form, it’s a sensational flyer.

@@TwoBrosRC Ha, it’s good to relive a little. I wonder if he knew how far we would ultimately take that laser? I remember the first time I sat in a Viper at Luke and saw the red guarded “Laser” switch. I was young and stupid and had no idea the jet had a laser. Originally, it was for LGB guidance and plucking accurate coordinates, but it evolved into so much more, including an radar emissions free (so RWR immune) air to air targeting system that also reaches way back there, behind the 3/9 line. Can only imagine what the new Targeting Pods and F-35 integral lasers can do. It’s been 20 years since I flew the Viper. Hard to believe. Crap.
Super video as always!!. Besides the beauty of this Jet, is so strong. I have crash 6-7 times (2 big crash) No big damage and still flying perfectly. After some glue and tape. 😬. 100% agree. My favorite so far.

Great flying and tips as always Jon. Really looking forward to your comparison with the freewing 90mm F16 and if your on the fence with colour scheme Thunderbirds version please. Been looking at these 2 for some time as I fly off grass and tarmac and love my 70mm eflite one.

The eflite Habu SS is the easiest jet to fly and flys on 4s and 6s, it’s way more fun with 6s. It can fly super slow and is so easy to high alpha. It was my 1st EDF
Hey I been doing some research but I still can’t find it out, what are the things you need to see gps, speed, elevation, etc on the spektrum rx, awesome flying btw
Hey man - you'd need a Spektrum GPS and a compatible receiver. Any new receiver with an X-bus port will work. I use tinyurl.com/SpektrumGPS - just bind with it plugged in and it will auto-populate the GPS info for you.
So your airspeed, distance from home, and altitude telemetry comes from your SPMa95870 right? Is it plugged straight into your RX or do you have to go through the TM1000?
It's plugged into the X-Bus port on the receiver. The GPS has to be present when the receiver is bound to the transmitter before it will be recognized.
Hello Jon ! Very instructive video !!! I've just bought this f16, and I was wondering if I could use the flaps without tailerons? Like RcGeek channel with a 60% differential. The elevator to flaps mix is interesting too! By the way, what deflections do you use for your take-off and landing flaps? Thank you ;) Antoine ( France )
I wouldn't recommend setting up flaperons without the differential stabilators to assist with roll. It'll probably end up feeling mushy in the sky with the stick response you'll get. You may also find that you could end up needing that roll assistance only the stabs can provide at low airspeeds. For flaps: I'm using 100% throw for landing and 50% throw for takeoff. There's a slight up elevator compensation for both. My throws probably won't match yours so I'd recommend you adjust it to suit your model's pitch response in the sky.
@@TwoBrosRC Yah, it is manageable when flying smaller packs. Not so much when flying heavier packs. The reverse thrust is a must have if I don't want it to roll into the grass. But I always worry about wracking the EDF if I use it too many times. lol
John great content as always. Hey I'm having trouble finding the ix20 setup file you have for this jet. I literally just get what jets you have now since they are set up so beautifully. Thanks a million buddy.
Great flying for sure. Just maidened the T-Bird version, however the motor kept pulsating at full throttle in the air with a fresh Pulse 6s 5000 45c battery. I have since recalibrated the ESC and will see what happens. I also didn't seem to get the thrust that you have. I also have the Viper F-16 as well and have the same experiance even after recalibrating the ESC. Any Ideas?
Contact Horizon - our 100a Avian that came with the first 80mm F-16 we owned did the same thing, which is why our F-5 (which used the same ESC) was underperforming. They should replace it for you if it persists after calibrating the throttle.
I zoomed in and noticed @1:32 into video as you're holding jet pointing downward straight across from right side of the W you can clearly see bigfoot's face looking at you from the bushes😳 have you ever had any sightings of it in that area?
We haven't heard anything good about it, so we had no plans to spend money on something we might only fly once. We almost never make the money back from RUclips that it costs to buy an airframe, so we buy Freewing jets that we're certain will be good and worth flying off-camera.
Hey I live in Black Mountain, NC. I heard you say North Carolina heat in the video. Any chance you are close by the Asheville area? Would love to come learn from you. I am completely new to the hobby and would love to be able to learn from you guys. Thank you!
We're in Cary, right outside of Raleigh - but if you're ever in the area, feel free to hit us up and we'll help you out. Or if that's too far, we post video tutorials regularly!
Hi Jon how are you? I kust wanted to ask, so with the settings you made on this olane i can still fly on Safe mode? Because im still new with jets thats why I still fly in Safe Mode. Thank you
Happy Fourth of July Jon just wondering I have the freewing F 16 and I also have the e-flite F-16 I have the NX 10 radio and I want to set up flaperons but also want to use AS3X on all surfaces can you explain how to achieve this... Thx Bob
Hey Jon, I ended up here from your thunderbirds 80mm video. I have a few questions, 1: Do you have to jail break the receiver to get these enormous elevator throws? I set my iX20 to 150% and they just stop moving before the sticks have achieved full travel. 2: My thunderbirds is running the AR8630T, I was going to move the BEC to the bind port and free up the channel so I can utilize Tailerons, but the bind port has a Y harness, I am assuming its powering the lights on the aircraft. Can I use the Y harness in conjunction with the BEC and the lights? Or would this make the BEC inoperable as it needs to be plugged in directly to a port by itself? (side note, running RC geek afterburner so that takes up its own channel too). Thanks for making awesome videos, I'm currently programming my F-22 using your setup guide as well!
You do need to unlock the receive and reprogram it to get full throws. Using tinyurl.com/B13DLM servos in the stabs will also help significantly. The lights can be Y'd together with the aux BEC cable into the bind port.
Hey there love the videos! I have an f-16 on the way to my house now. I just wanted to ask a quick question. I could get my jet to operate like this with my DX7s can’t I?
You'd need an eight channel receiver and would have to give up the eighth channel, and you wouldn't have the ability to change gyro gains on the fly or switch between full manual, AS3X, or SAFE. But you could get most of what I've flown here.
@@TwoBrosRC I mainly would like the aerobatic performance with the stabilators and a separate switch to control with Flaperons for landing. Not sure if I could do that with my receiver currently.
Great content.l 👍👍👍 Not sure you got your hands on the new F16 80mm thunderbird, but would like to see your shakedown and the differences between this jet and new F16 80 mm thunderbird. Thank you.
Price is in the link in the description. It flies about as long as you're seeing in the video. No idea on how many kilometers it can travel, that's not the intended purpose of the jet.
I wish people wouldn't do that level inverted "test" in SAFE mode. The fact that the ailerons go nuts as the plane passes through level inverted proves nothing. The ailerons will do that even if the gyro is backwards. I'd rather people tilt the plane 30 to 45 degrees from the level upright position, look at which way the controls are deflected, and think about what the airplane is going to do.
It wasn't done to prove anything, it was done just to show that SAFE is working as-intended. I already performed the tests you were mentioning prior to flipping it upside down. ;)
Super nice flying! Ordered my first rc plane yesterday fms f18 70mm. Little afraid to be flying it with no experience at least it has a gyro. Maybe ill pick up a cheap rc plane just to practice before i fly the f18. Any tips?🙈 thanx for the nice video
If you want to fly jets before you learn how to fly, go with a Habu trainer: amzn.to/3N8UE16 You'll get a lot out of it and learn about how jets fly without risking a very expensive airframe. It's also durable and can take hits well. It's a good jet to work with if you want to exclusively fly jets - but definitely remember that speed is your friend and jets fly best with throttle management. However, this jet lands best with no throttle at all, otherwise it will glide endlessly.
My E flite 80, it's not nearly as nice as yours. I do not have the ventricle fins anymore, I think it flies better. I have 3 other F16. They have the ventricles. I like the way the tail slides without them.
dad was watching your hands/fingers on the stick n ur thumbs on the say aileron stick are jerky n the model is fallowing that jerkiness a bit. dad wanted to suggest try to be smoother with your right thumb/ail stick try to relax a lot ur nervous n its showing lol over all dad said good flying n understanding of the flight control surfaces. the real aircrafts flight control computer mimics alot glider control surfaces. the flaperons ailivator r a must to get f-16 to fly the way they are designed. it was the first fighter that's fly by wire n operate servos connected to the flight control surfaces. when u find your hands are shaking from nervousness try to relax and breath which is hard to do and talk lol . make sure ur blood sugar isn't high from like having a Cinamon roll lol its also important blood sugar isn't to low. dad fly's everything I try to keep his blood sugar around 100/80 he is a diabetic so diabetes is a pain n the ass. dad mentioned to try crow ailerons up above the wing still acting like ailerons/crowerons lol normally the f-16 flight control computer uses this config at the same time it couples in all the other flight control config ur already using so its possible to setup a switch using the flaperons as crowerons which on the real aircraft is speed sensitive n if u setup a a switch to couple this with the alleviator if u don't ike it u can simply turn off the switch keeping n mind the real f-16 uses brute force to fly some configurations like dad was talking about but he liked your flying just relax a bit so ur fingers don't jerk as much the throttle its normal to lets say with a prop aircraft during hoovering maneuvers to blip blip blip the throttle but be smooth on the flight controls like flying a pattern ship Rc model etc. remember ur having fun so don't be nervous causing ur hands to shake n keep up the good flying n f-16s truly own the flight envelope when the flight controls are setup correctly which is a must. to bad u don't live n Okla ud have a blast with dad he really good at flight controls n loves his huge Rc hells but he fly's everything especially turbine f-16/rafale/Saab Draken etc.
That says 117mph but I highly doubt that is correct. My guess {100mph at best!} is from flying and testing speeds on EDF jets and this jet is nowhere near the speed of the Eflite viper which does 120mph and will appear much faster than 3mph in the f16 comparison.
Im confused. You say it is your maiden, but constantly referr to a lot of previous flights you did with this particular airplane. It is either a maiden or not!

The information on programming this jet is found on the back end. Check the setup section for more info.
👞
Did that come factory with the SW (Shaw AFB) tail markings?
It comes with decals to place them.
Love mine.
A man with good taste, I see.
Nice... using the thrust reverse lol. It's crazy cool huh!
Definitely helps get the rollouts to be much shorter!
I love your setup!!! Man I want to do the same to mine!
Very nice too! :D That Cobra looked coool :) You´re landing with flaperons to loose speed more quickly?
Flaperons are for landing flatter in a more scale like manner. That's all.
@@TwoBrosRC ok! 👍🏼
Hey Jon why haven't you reviewed the Freewing F16 90mm. ?
I can tell you its a beast and would to see you tame it!!!!!
Thank you
Im just truning off safe when in the air trying to get the confidence flying jet
You could, but I wouldn't recommend it. There's cheaper F-16s for that kind of flying.
@@TwoBrosRC thanks jon
@@TwoBrosRC by the way is your remote receiver is a spektrum brand? I cant find the model number. :) thank you. Im trying to copy your set up.
@@rexramos1090 Yeah, it's a Spektrum remote.
I do want this jet to compliment my E-Flite F-18 80mm Blue Angel
It's a good choice. Flies better and has more potential too.
Happy Fourth of July Jon just wondering I have the freewing F 16 and I also have the e-flite F-16 I have the NX 10 radio and I want to set up flaperons but also want to use AS3X on all surfaces can you explain how to achieve this... Thx Bob
The setup guide at the end of this video should contain the info you need to get it functioning.
Hey Jon, I ended up here from your thunderbirds 80mm video. I have a few questions,
1: Do you have to jail break the receiver to get these enormous elevator throws?
@@TwoBrosRC Thank you! Will these servos work in the F-22 as well on the elevator? The Hi-tec
servos are no longer available you recommend.
@@dalewalton4897 B13s can't fit in the F-22. All control surfaces are 17g servos. You'd need Hitec D85s (bit.ly/3ANJkEA ) for precise control.
@@TwoBrosRC Rodger that! Thanks again for the help, it’s greatly appreciated!
@Dale Walton Sure thing. We edited the links so they should work now.
@@TwoBrosRC Unfortunately I only have a DX7s that only has 7 channels
@@TwoBrosRC I mainly would like the aerobatic performance with the stabilators and a separate switch to control with Flaperons for landing. Not sure if I could do that with my receiver currently.
You can't, which is why I mentioned that you'd need an eight channel receiver and would need to give up the eighth channel.
@@TwoBrosRC appreciate it man. Keep up the videos love watching them!
Great content.l 👍👍👍
Not sure you got your hands on the new F16 80mm thunderbird, but would like to see your shakedown and the differences between this jet and new F16 80 mm thunderbird. Thank you.
Covered this in the last upload on the F-16 we recently posted. Check it out!
@@TwoBrosRC awesome, thank you !
I am torned between F16 80MM and Viper 90 🙄 any suggestions or advise ?
This video is awesome
How much does it fly, how many kilometers can it travel and how much does it cost?
Price is in the link in the description. It flies about as long as you're seeing in the video. No idea on how many kilometers it can travel, that's not the intended purpose of the jet.
@@TwoBrosRC Where can I find it? Can you give me a link to buy it?
I wish people wouldn't do that level inverted "test" in SAFE mode. The fact that the ailerons go nuts as the plane passes through level inverted proves nothing. The ailerons will do that even if the gyro is backwards. I'd rather people tilt the plane 30 to 45 degrees from the level upright position, look at which way the controls are deflected, and think about what the airplane is going to do.
It wasn't done to prove anything, it was done just to show that SAFE is working as-intended. I already performed the tests you were mentioning prior to flipping it upside down. ;)
@@TwoBrosRC Reverse the ailerons, run the “Relearn Servo Settings”, and repeat that “test”. Then tell me what the plane will do..
@@txkflier Why would I want to reverse them? They're already functioning correctly.
@@TwoBrosRC To see that it acts the same, but will not roll it in the proper direction.
Someone needs to make a video showing that while it’s a cool thing to see, it’s not a valid test. I hereby nominate you..
Super nice flying! Ordered my first rc plane yesterday fms f18 70mm. Little afraid to be flying it with no experience at least it has a gyro. Maybe ill pick up a cheap rc plane just to practice before i fly the f18. Any tips?🙈 thanx for the nice video
If you want to fly jets before you learn how to fly, go with a Habu trainer: amzn.to/3N8UE16
You'll get a lot out of it and learn about how jets fly without risking a very expensive airframe.
It definitely flies better with them.
@TwoBrosRC i disagree, and I bet you have never taken them off...
where is a good place to buy 6s batteries
www.smc-racing.com is our preferred choice.
@@TwoBrosRC what is a good one for this plane?
@@MrL_5322 4500 and 5000 packs.
dad was watching your hands/fingers on the stick n ur thumbs on the say aileron stick are jerky n the model is fallowing that jerkiness a bit. dad wanted to suggest try to be smoother with your right thumb/ail stick try to relax a lot ur nervous n its showing lol over all dad said good flying n understanding of the flight control surfaces. the real aircrafts flight control computer mimics alot glider control surfaces. the flaperons ailivator r a must to get f-16 to fly the way they are designed. it was the first fighter that's fly by wire n operate servos connected to the flight control surfaces. when u find your hands are shaking from nervousness try to relax and breath which is hard to do and talk lol . make sure ur blood sugar isn't high from like having a Cinamon roll lol its also important blood sugar isn't to low. dad fly's everything I try to keep his blood sugar around 100/80 he is a diabetic so diabetes is a pain n the ass. dad mentioned to try crow ailerons up above the wing still acting like ailerons/crowerons lol normally the f-16 flight control computer uses this config at the same time it couples in all the other flight control config ur already using so its possible to setup a switch using the flaperons as crowerons which on the real aircraft is speed sensitive n if u setup a a switch to couple this with the alleviator if u don't ike it u can simply turn off the switch keeping n mind the real f-16 uses brute force to fly some configurations like dad was talking about but he liked your flying just relax a bit so ur fingers don't jerk as much the throttle its normal to lets say with a prop aircraft during hoovering maneuvers to blip blip blip the throttle but be smooth on the flight controls like flying a pattern ship Rc model etc. remember ur having fun so don't be nervous causing ur hands to shake n keep up the good flying n f-16s truly own the flight envelope when the flight controls are setup correctly which is a must. to bad u don't live n Okla ud have a blast with dad he really good at flight controls n loves his huge Rc hells but he fly's everything especially turbine f-16/rafale/Saab Draken etc.
Appreciate the advice, thanks!
If you have a perfect runway surface...
Our runway is far from perfect.
When will you fly that F14 in the corner
Wow a month earler THANKS
That says 117mph but I highly doubt that is correct. My guess {100mph at best!} is from flying and testing speeds on EDF jets and this jet is nowhere near the speed of the Eflite viper which does 120mph and will appear much faster than 3mph in the f16 comparison.
It's absolutely correct.
7:05 real footage
The whole video is real footage, not sure what you mean here.
😊
Bastante eficiente. Laturbina es totalmente electrico
English please?
Does a real f-16 have tailerons??
Absolutely. Almost every fighter jet with stabilators operates them differentially to assist with roll.
F- 16 80 que balor tiene
Any value you want it to have.
Im confused. You say it is your maiden, but constantly referr to a lot of previous flights you did with this particular airplane. It is either a maiden or not!
It's the maiden of this jet specifically. We had an earlier version of it that Tony flew into a piece of rebar last year.
