    Did you have to do any mods to the 70mm airframe to get the CG right for the 5000mah battery? I’m looking to buy my first edf soon and don’t really want to have to buy 4000mah packs. These 6s lipo’s aren’t cheap! I already have 2 spektrum 6s 5000 packs from my carbon z cessna and I’d prefer to use them on multiple airframes. Thanks!

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад

      Not that we can recall offhand. It just depends on the pack you toss into the jet. Though it should be flown on 4000 packs because 5000 is rather heavy for it.

    Hello Two Brothers. I am new to your channel (not new to RC flying) and really enjoy what you guys do and believe you two do some of the best objective product testing bar none. I fly several EDF jets including the F-16 70 mm and agree on it's excellent flying qualities. I recently put a Jeti reversing ESC on it but unfortunately too many cheater holes makes for great electrical energy conversion to noise but fails to produce meaningful reverse braking action. I believe the 80mm version lacks cheater holes and would work much better with reverse thrust? Keep up the great work guys and thank you for all your hard work producing these videos.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад

      Thanks man! The 80mm actually does have cheaters but the thrust reverse is rather effective on it.

  • @FFE-js2zp

    The 80mm looks super scale. The 70mm seems to have a little bit toyish proportions, but it’s hard to say why. You fly both great.

      70mm paint job is not that great. The white parts are the foamy natural colour, so it looks cheap but it's a light jet, that's why it's shaky under turbulence

    Good evening Jon,
    I would like your thoughts on my wish list for the E Flite 80mm F16 viper which also includes LED after burner, Spektrum RC S1200 G2 AC LiPo smart charger to go with the Spektrum RC 6S smart LiPo Battery pack w/IC5 connector (22.2V/ 7000mAh. I will be purchasing the Spektrum NX8 radio.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  3 месяца назад

      That combo is pretty solid for the transmitter/charger/airframe, but you can get batteries from SMC for less - and they'll hold more of a charge under the loads a jet will put them through. But if you want a Smart battery, they'll definitely work.
      We highly recommend the KMRC afterburner systems which are available from kmrcmodel.com
      In terms of the radio, if you'd *like to*, you can pick it up via bit.ly/3bA4dcA to support the channel with a small commission at no extra charge to yourself. Similarly, if you want the 80mm, you can pick it up via bit.ly/3PZUcEs as well.

    So, I live in Metro Phoenix and got the Luke Field (LF) and 560G / Air Training command tail art from Callie Graphics. She's amazing BTW. Luke AFB is just west of us and is the prim train base for the F16 and now F35 programs training pilots and crews from 28 nations! Gotta pay respect to them!
    I can see them, especially at night, on approach. You can totally just hear the difference between the F16 and F35. The F35 is so bloody loud! Military doesn't even know what noise abatme is...lol. So cool though having my Viper look exactly like the ones flying outta Luke AFB.
    BTW... F16 pilots call it the viper. None of them call it the falcon...lol. Only Military PR does.😉

    Flew my 80mm F16 yesterday had about the 30 flights on it everything locked in, high alpha, landings, flaperons everything felt great stock setup BNF. Take off was text book climb out to about 50ft up start left bank turn. Throttle seemed to cut off or lower and then it took hard right roll (even though I was full left turn on sticks) to nose dive with no control on transmitter. Checked battery connection everything no issues. I was in disbelief that it happened. I have DX6 and the stock receiver. As of this morning I ordered another haha. How can I avoid this next go round? Or do you have any advice to upgrade parts to avoid signal loss. Thanks again and awesome review could watch you fly all day bro

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад +1

      That's really unfortunate. It sounds like you lost signal and it held the last command it received until it crashed. We always use a remote receiver in our models - you might find this one useful on top of the AR8360T we linked in the description: bit.ly/3QXLIhe
      This is the same remote that's installed in our F-16.

    Great flying. The 70mm is a bit of a pig with a 5000 in it. It's best with a 4000. Have you tried to do a Cobra with the 70mm yet (All it does is a slow nose up climb and then a tail slide) Still fun to do.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад

      You can't really do a cobra in this jet. Not enough pitch authority.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад +1

      It's not really possible to perform a cobra with elevator tips on this jet. The best you can get is a wall where the jet flies upward quick, but a true cobra requires full moving stabilators. It can be done in the 80mm true to the maneuver which has strict requirements. Look it up and you'll see.

    • @ederdmann7347
      @ederdmann7347 Год назад

      @@TwoBrosRC with the 70mm it’s more of pull-up into a slow motion stall and into a tail slide. It’s not a true cobra. Have to work that rudder during the tail slide part or it looks ugly. LOL.

    My F-16 Thunderbird seems to be missing its top gear. I bought the 70mm Viper and the F-16 about a week apart. No comparison in speed. The Viper is much faster. It actually worked out for the best at the beginning. I didn’t need to go fast, I needed to land edf’s better. But now, the Eflite F-16 has become the “Cross-eyed, redheaded stepchild” in the Hangar of Death. Never gets taken out to fly. You’d think with my OCD, I’d spend an afternoon figuring out why it’s the little old lady in the left lane on her way to Walmart…
    If you tell me to calibrate the throttle I’ll punch you. LOL!

    • @TwoBrosRC

    You guys have a lot of birds. Not a big a deal for RC, but for full scale it could be. You might ask your lawnmower guy to raise the blades and cut less often. FAA Airport grass should be kept between 6-12 inches for bird control. AFB’s are kept at 7-14 inches.
