Actually if you push your battery back like I show in the video you really don’t need the flaps I can definitely tell you my settings but in all honesty it will come in at a crawl if you keep the nose up and use throttle management coming in
Rickey Nelson Jr they are suspension retracts made out of machined aluminum really nice basically like little shock absorbers. The new version of the freewing actually comes with them now
@@MerryBoozerRC thank you for replying. Like I said earlier, I'm new to this hobby but love it a lot. I want to go EDF but at the moment I have a puller propeller rc plane. I intend to use both types of rc planes but I'm clueless as to what radio I need that will work with any rc plane. I pretty much need a list of all the things I would need to be successful in this hobby while having fun. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Awesome flying by the way. I hope to be on that level soon. I've only flew my rc plane 2 times. Would it be stupid jumping to an EDF so soon?
I love the camo scheme of the Freewing but the E-Flite definitely seems faster. Do you use anything besides sub trim on these like Aileron to rudder mixing, Dual Rates & Expo or switched Flat throttle curves for slow flight and landing?
Or, buy the Freewing F-16 version that comes with the suspension struts and upgraded inrunner motor from Motion RC for $259. That would be a more fair comparison.

Morning Wes and Lori. You did a good job Landing the freeway F-16 certainly made up for your takeoff. I definitely agree there are virtually identical I think the E-flite has a slightly better flight time and a little bit more on the top end. I remember you saying from your F-35 review on Ryans show that you started flying in 1993 same as me believe it or not!
Oh ok, I just didnt want to miss them. The boozers need there Dave's Rc T's. Paul Hatcher is going to be in Portland tomorrow. @@MerryBoozerRC Ok I downloaded this Macross VF-31A for Phoenix sim and at 1/4 throttle its hard to land it. Maybe its close to accurate then if 15 to 30% throttle floats it. www.supermotoxl.com/projects-articles/ready-to-drive-fly-models/macross-vf-31a-kairos-phoenix-rc-simulator.html
Brian Scutt it’s an E-Flite but yes the freewing fits the large batteries better and now has a high performance version with the upgrade landing gear and I runner fan pre installed
@@MerryBoozerRC great ! That's the one Im ordering the high performance one. Only other upgrade I got is a gyro. The 21 dollar one that motion sells. You think the 4500 pack will effect the flight performance because of extra weight ??
The E-flite has a SAFE option - did you mention that? but no flaps and did you say flaperons are NOT an option?..... is that because ailerons are y - harnessed together ?
lw216316 you can’t program flaperons with the stock as3x receiver. Yes it has safe but in my opinion if your buying a 100mph plane you sold be past needing safe. It’s a great tool but I feel it’s allowed people to fly things the shouldn’t.
So - for flaperons, its a software restriction by the receiver and not a mechanical restriction by a y- harness. I have put flaperons on an AR620 receiver - but did not know it won't work on a 636 (or 636a) whatever is in the F-16. As for the safe option - since a wide variety of pilots watch your review, I suspect there are some who would like that option and others who will not activate it during the bind. Even if it is activated during the bind it can be programmed to a switch and used or not used as desired. Not all safe options are the same. Some planes allow it to function like a beginner mode and some planes I've had allow it to function only as an emergency mode to get you straight and level - and you then need to get back to your normal mode quickly to get enough control surface movement to get the plane back to you. Here is a maiden flight on the F-16 by theRcSaylors who review lots of planes. He using safe on the maiden and it has a good amount of deflection allowed on the controls. ruclips.net/video/j7NA9mWZD98/видео.html I like using safe on a maiden if there is a good amount of control. After that I only use it as an emergency switch. The Marlin was my first jet. I'm planning to move up to the F-16 soon - so the safe option looks good to me.
Exactly if you buy the plug and fly and ad your own receiver you can do flaperon but to be honest you don’t need them on this plane the slow flight is crazy good
@@MerryBoozerRC That's a good option to consider. I could get an open stock receiver and add a gyro (with or without a safe option). I recently bought an A3 Pro with plans to try it in an old plane but maybe I'll try it in the F-16 ! So if I get the plug and fly then the leads from the wings on the F-16 are accessable so I can plug them into separate ports so I can set up flaperons ?
Should be but if I’m being honest I put them on once and never took them off so I can’t remember.... but buy the BNF with AS3X trust me this bird doesn’t need flaps. Truly it is the best jet on the market currently in my opinion... not fancy but best flying

Thanks Wes, I’ve really been torn about these since the artic camo is really my favorite but really like the entire package with the E-flite, however I’m glad to see that Freewing now offers the F16 in the pro edition with the upgraded motor and retracts now which may help with my decision, if the offered the camo in a 90mm I wouldn’t have to decide, I’ve really been thinking about getting the 90mm Freewing F16 in the grey and just doing what you and I love to do.....an artic camo airbrushing repaint. BUT WAIT....then I go to the HSD F16 camo which I’d get in the turbine frame and set up with a high proformance JP fan and all would be right, but by the time you do the jet, retracts, ESC, and fan, oh and let’s not forget the receiver/gyro, now my wallet is going, ouch. Man, the struggles....thanks for a great video Wes and showing us 2 really sweet birds, another awesome video👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👍🏼
Jeff’s Custom RC ok in my personal opinion the 70mm freewing is the plane for you. The 90mm F-16 is a brick and doesn’t fly anywhere close to as good as the 70. Also get the V2 freewing I linked in the description for $259 with the in runner motor and upgraded re-tracks right out of the box you can’t go wrong
Merry Boozer RC thanks Wes, that’s the one I’ve been really looking at, so...you think I’d really like that better that the 90mm with the upgraded 1835kv ??? I would do a repaint on the 90mm to have the artic camo. I’m so torn, just not sure if I’d be happy with the smaller of the two since I’m used to flying 90mm.....damn the struggles 🤔🤪😖👊🏼👊🏼

Nice review! I have both and I have to side with the freewing. They both fly great, but I have to say that the eflite has a slightly artificial feel with the gyro compared to the admiral. The freewing slows to a crawl as does the eflite. I feel completely connected to the freewing and the eflite I feel like I’m telling the gyro what to do. Finally...the eflite canopy kept coming off in flight. I’d say it’s an anomaly, but I’ve seen others with the same issue.
If you look at scale though, freewing has it on the spot because the eflite F-16 has too much ground clearance in the rear for scale. The freewing has the right height and ground clearance.
Great review! Thanks a ton. What were the battery stats after the 3 minute flight? Did they both come down with similar voltage values/amps drawn, or can one fly longer than the other due to more efficient system? Thanks again, keep 'em coming.
Jorden Epps The E flight just barely edges is out I set both timers now to four minutes on these aircraft and I’m coming down with about 3.8 to 3.83 but if you fly at full throttle most of the flights four minutes is Max Always good to leave a little room to land
I have the E Flite the front landing gear are week and poor in designed, dont just take my word for it ! so many replacements are needed that they cant fill the order!
Nice review. They both look pretty nice, but in your last shot where they are both sat on the ground in front of you, the Freewing has a much more scale sit on its gear. The Elfite looks a little toy like on its tall stalky legs.
Also, if I may offer a tip for video recording of the airplanes in flight. Disable auto-focus, and use manual focus. Before recording, with manual focus enabled, focus on an object off in the distance. For example that white house next to the tree that is seen right after take off (1:34 mark). Additionally, in order to have a chance at keeping the fast close-in passes within the shot, you have to stand a few yards back from the flight line, and use zoom (sparingly) in and out as needed. I learned all of these the hard way when I was recording at events. One of my favorite videos I shot a while ago: ruclips.net/video/cXDysFb_BR4/видео.html
My free wing f-16 went in the garbage. After having it accelerate to full throttle and having zero control over the model twice and trying to replace parts to get it to work, I just threw it away. I was sick of dealing with it. The avanti is the way to go!
I would buy another F16 90mm if it came in camo. The 70s are to easy to lose orientation especially on cloudy days. 80mm would be even better if they made them.

The E-FLiteF 16 is better because if you pair it with the MLP6DSM 6CH SAFE Transmitter 2.4GHz: 180 QX HD a beginner can use it because it limits the tilt. He said he spent $44 on the receiver but an as3x receiver costs $80. So the e flite is cheaper. This comparison is still not equal

Thanks! So doesn't that imply that the fan in the E-Flite produces more thrust? Or is it a combination of the ESC, gyro, airfoil, and the entire circuit?
@@cwwisk I don’t really know what it is that makes this plane high alpha so good but there’s really no plane I’ve ever flown that even comes close to this one you can hold full up elevator on it and fly around with just the throttle and it will not dip a wing or anything
@@MerryBoozerRC I guess that will probably be my next plane. Thanks for the help!
@@cwwisk one of my favorites goes with me all the time battery all the way back on this one
Nice video, I have both and couldn't agree with you more on the differences. Both fun birds. Great video!
I can't believe I missed this video when it first came out, I must have been sleeping. Great video, I just ordered the E-Flite version.
Well don’t forget there’s another one if you enjoy this one here is the link ruclips.net/video/-dg69KV7c3o/видео.html
Does it come with a transmitter and everything u need to fly??
No sr you will need a spektrum transmitter batteries and a lipo charger
@@MerryBoozerRC can I use the spektrum dx6e transmitter?? Or do I need the dx8??
Can I ask why this comparison is important as the eflite model has not been availible for almost 10 years..Are they putting out this model again?
??? There out now for like 3 months
Yea I looked it up..the older ones used a 55 mm fan..
I can tell you the E-Flight is my second favorite jet I’ve flown all year
Hi wes I've just bought the freewing and upgraded the retracts as I fly off grass I'm planning on the maiden in the next couple of days ! Could you tell me the flaperon settings you have dialed in as I've been told they come in quite hot without them ? Great video as always guys 👍
Actually if you push your battery back like I show in the video you really don’t need the flaps I can definitely tell you my settings but in all honesty it will come in at a crawl if you keep the nose up and use throttle management coming in
I'll give that a go first wes as I fly my freewing hawk without flaps coming in ! Thanks for your advise buddy 👍
What are the "upgraded retracts" I keep hearing about? I'm new to the hobby and know nothing..... yet.
@FPV ersity awesome.... are you in the central Florida area?
Great review. Just getting into jets. I’m really enjoying your videos. Very helpful!
Flaperon settings?
I love the camo scheme of the Freewing but the E-Flite definitely seems faster.
Do you use anything besides sub trim on these like Aileron to rudder mixing, Dual Rates & Expo or switched Flat throttle curves for slow flight and landing?
I like 15% expo and I set up dual rates no mixing
Great vs video! Congrats!
What flaperons mix are u using? Thanks a lot!!
Just a standard flap mix. Sorry that’s a bit vague of a question 🥰 but glad you enjoyed the video
@@MerryBoozerRC sorry about my english!! And thanks! I'll buy the e flite!
Or, buy the Freewing F-16 version that comes with the suspension struts and upgraded inrunner motor from Motion RC for $259. That would be a more fair comparison.
Thomas Ellison but the receiver is still $40 that’s where the $295 price came from in the video
Thomas Ellison I feel this was a fair comparison both planes fly great and at the end of the day it’s still your choice on what to buy lol
Thomas Ellison I didn’t realize they had a new version of the FW I have updated the description and I apologize for that thanks for bringing it to my attention. At the end of the day I’m not payed for this and just trying to bring the best content I can on my budget.
So u have to buy a receiver as well ??
BNF planes come with the receivers PNF don’t
What an awesome review, I’ve liked both of those for a while know and agree on the whole depends on what paint job you like. It’s awesome that you evened them out for the review none had the upper hand....excellent comparison video 👍🏼
Thank you so much ❤️ we really are trying hard to be as impartial and honest with all our reviews here on the channel they really are awesome jets and you can’t really go wrong with ether plane
Yeah I'm going with fms. Their F-16 runs on an inrunner and i get 4.5-5 minutes and its awesome.
I like the agressor scheme a little better.
Great job boozer, hey quick question. Has your dad made it to Maine yet?
Oh ok, I just didnt want to miss them. The boozers need there Dave's Rc T's. Paul Hatcher is going to be in Portland tomorrow. I'm going to meet up with him at some point to give him a shirt and his ESC that he won. Talk about cheap shipping. I should start making all contest winners come pick up there prizes in person. Sure makes it easy on me.
Thay are in D.C. so far getting closer every day
Nice flying as usual Wesley! Lori great camera shooting.
What throttle % do you come in for landing, same as slow flight?
It’s not really a set % but it floats around 15-30%
@@MerryBoozerRC Ok I downloaded this Macross VF-31A for Phoenix sim and at 1/4 throttle its hard to land it. Maybe its close to accurate then if 15 to 30% throttle floats it.
www.supermotoxl.com/projects-articles/ready-to-drive-fly-models/macross-vf-31a-kairos-phoenix-rc-simulator.html
Hi can you fly the fms on a 4500 mah lipo ??
Brian Scutt it’s an E-Flite but yes the freewing fits the large batteries better and now has a high performance version with the upgrade landing gear and I runner fan pre installed
@@MerryBoozerRC great ! That's the one Im ordering the high performance one. Only other upgrade I got is a gyro. The 21 dollar one that motion sells. You think the 4500 pack will effect the flight performance because of extra weight ??
Brian Scutt not bad it just won’t be able to fly as slow with the heavy pack the plane will handle it fine should have a nice flight time with it
Great review and video.
Nice landings.
Glad to see Eflite can hang with Freewing.
RCWeaven FPV it really is a toss up on this one. After flying them it really is hard to pick between them. Guess that’s why I have both lol
He using safe on the maiden and it has a good amount of deflection allowed on the controls.
ruclips.net/video/j7NA9mWZD98/видео.html
I like using safe on a maiden if there is a good amount of control.
Honest review! Thanks for doing this.
Actually the plastic retracts are actually better ,I ordered the plastic re tracks and put them in my e-flite not a problem since
Thank You Team Boozers, great stuff!
Let's see a 4 point roll down the runway also using rudder and keeping it axial without the 60 degree pitch up.
Ok I can do it for you I just like the arch looks cool to me

Hey Guys , I need to know the AS3X settings for this Plane , bought the pnp version . can anybody help me ?
You can contact horizon and they can sell you an as3x receiver for it. Otherwise you will need to buy a receiver and download the settings.
RC Airmarshal knows all about programming them check out his channel
@@MerryBoozerRC Thanks for the Info! on the Spektrum Side I downloaded the SRM file for the F-16 : had to copy manually the settings on my AR636 Receiver . The Spectrum software is not so smart as they always tell us . I already had some serious problems with the software in the past .
Very good and fair review, nice flying too.
You will definitely not be disappointed in the 70 mm arctic camo free wing F-16 get one and thank me later. Just tell them who sent you.
Jeff’s Custom RC I have the 90mm F-16 and I’m really not a fan the 70 flys so much better
@@MerryBoozerRC yea the 90s are not that quick in talking about a few 90s too and 70s 80s are the best for speed performance and easy on batts I love the 70s 6s jets f16 is real good viper jet is good hawk ain't bad.
With a gyro, your not flying the plane, you're flying the gyro. I don't use them in anything. Don't like them at all.
Where can I find this Admiral gyro?

@@MerryBoozerRC Is this receiver better or as good as the Lemon stabilized rx?
I like them so far I haven’t had any problems out of the them. Anyway I like it get one give it a try
What kind of transmitter do you use?
Ché Hamilton Sr. Ix12 Spektrum

Cause it’s trailing link if only Eflite did that
Nice review. They both look pretty nice, but in your last shot where they are both sat on the ground in front of you, the Freewing has a much more scale sit on its gear. The Elfite looks a little toy like on its tall stalky legs.

Great review man!
Cheers Great vid ,great flying but WTF was that ??Was that a drone that dropped down behind the plane at 8.42 ,very strange any body else spot that!

Awesome review and great video👍🛫👌
The e flite it does high alfa easy too
Yep
6s?
My free wing f-16 went in the garbage. After having it accelerate to full throttle and having zero control over the model twice and trying to replace parts to get it to work, I just threw it away. I was sick of dealing with it. The avanti is the way to go!
I would buy another F16 90mm if it came in camo. The 70s are to easy to lose orientation especially on cloudy days. 80mm would be even better if they made them.
Your final verdict assumes that everyone is flying Spektrum radio and want a gyro in their plane. That is not always the case.

DeucesWild RC only the best for you 😉
The E-FLiteF 16 is better because if you pair it with the MLP6DSM 6CH SAFE Transmitter 2.4GHz: 180 QX HD a beginner can use it because it limits the tilt. He said he spent $44 on the receiver but an as3x receiver costs $80. So the e flite is cheaper. This comparison is still not equal
FREEWING sounds more like a jet...
Looks better too I think... Although, im partial, because I own a FREEWING F-16 90mm with afterburner!!!, F-86 SABER, AND MY FAVORITE, MY FREEWING BAE HAWK 70mm!!!! Can’t go wrong ether way brother both great planes
we need to see the cobra
What cobra are you talking about?
Merry Boozer RC it’s an aircraft maneuver invented by boyd and used by the russians. it’s when you put the plane into a high aoa and still fly level across. it’s pretty complicated but they had it in the reveal trailer for the e flite 16
I gotcha I know what your talking about now you will enjoy the video coming up on them I actually posted a video to Instagram of me doing it 4 ft off the ground lol. But you will see it in the future episode
As an owner of both these fine brands. Eflite for ease of use and good quality components. Freewing for detail, terrible components.
Blame USA haha I wouldn’t say the freewing has terrible components specially if you get their new aversion now that comes will be in runner motor and the upgraded re-tracks right out of the box
Fms for better motors and gear freewing for more variety and choices but I love fms too they have the better gear now
The Freewing definitely more scale than the Eflite.
Chris Gaalen I agree thee freewing is more scale.... but after about 10 flights I actually like the E-Flite just a hair more. That being said there both awesome
The Freewing looks so much better.
Love the f16s . Prefer the white one (more lively) to avoid being too militaristic.
So you want a non militaristic f16 jet fighter.
Maybe next you can get a not too fast top fuel funny car?
$259.00 for the Arctic Camo.. love the looks of that one.. hmmmm
I have several new unused receivers setting in my build room right now, with and without gyro! LOL
is one easier to see while flying vs the other?? (say the camo version... LOL)
Depends on the day on a cloudy day the E-Flight was easier for me to see. But on a cloudy day I like the Freewing. Haha my honest opinion the paint jobs on the freewing is better. It’s just a hard choice. Just remember tell them the boozer sent you whatever you choose. They both fly great 👍
Thunderbirds were always my fav show on earth I lived by offut airforce base in Bellevue Nebraska and they had an air show every year I wanna get into rc planes
Vape Clouds901 and you should but I definitely recommend you start with something other than the F-16. Unfortunate you won’t have a good time if you start with this you will crash it. I recommend starting with something cheaper and easier to fly. What have you flown?
