Another life-saving video. Just got a job of serializing 500 padlocks with fiber and once again, Laser Everything with the answer! Appreciate what you do!
Glad you got value out of the content! Sounds like an absolute perfect use case for this!
FANTASTIC TIMING!!! Just came across your channel a week or so ago, just ordered a system yesterday and just started finding info on serial numbers in Lightburn this morning before Day Job. First projects are customer logo, Made In NY-USA, part numbers, SN’s etc. So much to learn, but so happy to get product marking going. Thanks for the content!
Glad I could help! Welcome aboard!
Thanks, that was just awesome, because I was looking for this for a while now. Excellent teaching work you did here (for a newbie like me)
Awesome, thank you! So glad it helped you!
I missed this video and found this tool. Thanks for the info on all the different options
Thanks for watching!
nice easy to follow video yet again
Thanks for watching Steve!
Great, thanks very much
Glad you liked it!
Great video! Interesting choice of caps/lower case for date/time notations. In time, the only caps are hours , while in date the only caps are month. Time is HHmmss while date id ddMMyy. Why not be consistent and make time all upper case and date all lower case just to aid in keeping things straight? ddmmyy and HHMMSS would be much more intuitive and easier to remember.
Agreed. I'm sure Jason has a reason but I definitely don't have an explanation haha your way makes sense to me.
Another awesome video! How would the CSV/Merge work with a jig with multiple parts? For example, business cards with inputs pulled from CSV but loading 4-6 cards to ablate on the same job.
Good question! I didn't really cover it in the video but it should work just fine. You could use different columns for each jig location. When you advance by 1 it will advance all columns by 1 row.
Sorry, I know this isnt related but will you be doing a tutorial on setting up the Lightburn Camera for Fiber? Started the process last night but didnt get too far :) Thanks for the great tutorials as usual!
Yep, mentioned it in this episode actually, should be just a couple episodes away. :)
I've been enjoying your content and learning a lot from you, so I hope you'll be able to answer a 'noob' question for me. Here it is:
When doing wood inlays using a CnC mill / router, one typically cuts at an angle so the pieces fit seamlessly when glued together. I'm sure you already know this, but my question is whether there is an existing way to laser cut at specific angles / bevels to achieve the same result? Or would one have to 'jury rig' something? Thanks and keep up the great work!
Nothing to my knowledge on the market right now could facilitate that easily unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
@@LaserEverything Thanks for taking the time to reply. .
I have a Radian Fiber MOPA 3D laser and I was wondering if LightBurn will work with it. One example that I can do with it is offset the focus through software. The software seems to be some version of EZCAD2.
Lightburn doesn't currently support 3D function, and it doesn't support EZcad 3 at this time. Keep an eye out for updates from Lightburn.
Not sure if anyone noted this - but the system has been updated, and now the L character gets the device name (upper case only)
Please is possible to do a sample using a serial number and QRCODE to work and update togheter? im having dificults to do it.
Is there a way to do a variable vector? Let's say I have a folder with 10 vector files, is there a way to pull them into Lightburn automatically?
Not that I know of off the top of my head but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I would have to do some research into how light burns art library management works.
Is there a quick way to automate multiple files? I have 100 unique tags to engrave, the client is supplying a 100 page pdf file set to size. Can lightburn automate the importing and hatching in any way?
You set the hatch once and that should apply to all parts of the project.
If you put the batch number on another line does that work?
Unfortunately it is on another line, they're just positioned closely to one another.
I need to engrave a statement with 200 words for my college project. How do I align as we do on Microsoft Word? All center, or all to the left? Any suggestion? Thx
What is the engraving going on? Typically I will go center justified for that much text.
@@LaserEverything I will engrave it on thin plywood; I create the text on Microsoft Word. When copied and past to lightburn the entire text comes in one line only, did not find a way to modify it; I was thinking JUSTIFIED too. It is a little over 200 words
I cant get QR-Code with serial number to work in Lightburn. No Problem in Ezcad2. as soon as i go further than SN: it says it cant understand the QR code. So SN: 123-123 is unreadable. Ok, i put a ' at the front, and seems to work then.
Back to not working. I even tried from a CSV file, It does not like the SN: thing at all. is there a way to get QR-Code to work with Serialnumber in Lightburn? because its not working for me. Everything is AWSOME in Lightburn, except this QR-Code business.
When we've tested generic serial numbers as QR codes, we've not had an issue like that though. Generate it on screen, and then de-select it (so it isn't shifting the edges as a selected object) and test it with your phone/device to confirm it can be read first. If its not working after being burned, it may be a contrast issue, or overburning / losing necessary detail maybe. I'm not sure I can think of anything else based off the description, but if that doesn't work, I'd suggest making a thread in one of our support communities (linked in the description) and that way the moderators/staff and community can help work through it together via discussion thread
