Professor Messer and Jason Dion for Security+
Great resource!
Dion training all day. I would also encourage everyone to make a home lab and set up a sandbox. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. I am on my journey into Cyber from help desk. It sucks feeling trapped but the skill gains from making mistakes and working on things is 100000% worth it.
Are either of these free?
@@raalo7136 sandbox?
@@bearcircusnotjaims2109Professor Messer is 100% free, Jason Dion's Security + course is on Udemy. I would stick to Prof. Messer, he covers all the course objectives one by one and in order, he always updates his courses when a new version of the exam is released, and his group study videos and practice exams are a great way to test your own knowledge as you progress through the course.
I've read some things about Jason Dion's course, even though I get Udemy for free, people say he's all over the place, has some wrong information, and some of his material and terminology are not up to date.
Really good Video Nicole! Keep up the great work. I got my A+ back on Sept 17th, 2022, now I'm studying for Sec+. I've had my Help desk job now about a year and 4 months. I've done really good in it, though I want to really level up my career. I came from the automotive field of 18 plus years of experience. Made a career change at 40 which is scary and very fulfilling. Though I will say with my 5-year plan, this is the best decision I've ever made! Keep up the great videos Nicole!
Thank you!!
Congrats on the career change, I'm in my 30s trying to do the same thing. How do you like help desk?
Thank you Nicole. I'm from a non-tech background and recently gained interest in Information & Cyber Security. My current line of work has elements of TPRM which I really find interesting. I have been watching your videos for about a week now and this video gave me a lot of clarity. I feel GRC is where I want to go. I'm going to dive in to this big world of Cybersecurity in a few days to essentially learn and see how its like. Starting with the Google IT support course. Very excited!
Thank you and keep up the good work.
If you could do a specific video, especially for people from non-tech background and basically break down the complete basics to start with, that'll be great!
Many thanks,
Cheers.
Thank you for this insightful content my love. Nice to see you once again

What tools aka packages would you suggest we use/download to put together a lab?
What type of job do you want in cybersecurity? Once you figure that out, then you create a home lab around it to gain hands on experience
@@chasehadley5230 It definitely depends on what you are trying to do and the cost you are interested in shelling out. You have the option to virtualize everything or have a physical server set up in your home. Me, I enjoy the journey of learning and having a fine balance. So I do small things in my sandbox environments and I play around with Kali Linux. I also have invested time in looking at TryHackMe and HackTheBox's alternatives to "home labs" Better than anything I can spin up from a financial standpoint. So I would say to cut down on cost do research on the positions in cyber and maybe see if you can even speak with some professionals in those fields. Then chase what sounds FUN to you. If you love compliance chase it, hacking chase it, Infosec chase it, or if you enjoy paperwork doing like BISO chase it. There is so much information out there it gets overwhelming.
This is gold. I believe you may have compiled here exactly what I've been looking for since I developed my interest in the subject. Thank you :)
Glad it was helpful Cha Rel

Question about Bootstrapped Bootcamp class progression, specifically the Intro to IT section...Would you recommend completing the Google IT Support Course before moving on to any of the other courses in this area or should I just complete them in sequence as recommended in the Intro?
Thanks for the video. After getting into defensive security, I am trying to learn about GRC. Could you recommend certain sources to get started?
Gerald Auger is a great source. You can find him on Linkedn and does daily youtube videos
Can you recommend a resume company geared for cyber security ? Btw love your content.
Would you consider making a best 2023 tech jobs for entry level ? Regardless I appreciate your videos

Finally something that works
Nicole! 😊
First Arnold!
I will be taking my ISC)2 CC Cert exam soon, what are your thoughts on that Cert? As good or better thank the comptia sec plus?
It's a great cert. Anything by ISC2 is legit
Ok that’s good to hear , thank you
What degree would you suggest if i waana do undergraduate degree?
I regret getting the Google IT cert i also have the A+ But the reality is certs are overall meaningless and only for resume marketing and the A+ is more known and therefore worth more even though the Google IT teaches way more
Independent learning and labing is your best friend, certs are just cherries on the career cake
Which app are you showing, to see those jobs
Indeed
thoughts on unlv cybersecurity bootcamp?
Eh, they are overpriced for what they are.
Looking for Computer forensic in MacOS operating system can you help me?
I have a video about digital forensics....
can you please make video about linux tools
maybe
Hey Nicole! would you recommend getting a degree in IT if you already have a non related bachelor’s degree in economics? If so would you recommend another bachelors or masters in cybersecurity?
I have about 4 years of Help desk/desktop support work experience and looking to get a cybersecurity/soc analyst role.
@@kadeem070 No, don't get another bachelors degree. I would aim for certificates & home labs if you already experience in IT. A masters in cybersecurity would be nice, but more if you want to go the management route
I am very greatfull for you doing this for us. You might be the very reason I might build up the courage to switch career. 10Q!!!
Hey can I talk to you more about this?
Hy iam nihad iam bcom graduate and currently looking to MBA ..but i like to do a course in cyber security...is it okey for me to do..is it tough for a commerce student and does it have maths ....please tell me
