As for digital games, both use similar bandwidth, however, Xbox Series X seems somewhat faster. However, because PS5 games generally take up less space, they take less time to download.

Yep it's great. He did one mistake aka apple to oranges comparisons though. When installing the disc of Judgment Xbox starts patching right away and you can see this in the video with the ~2GB download. Whereas his PS5 showed a message to start the game without the patch that was still downloading.
So he basically measured Judgement being installed and patches vs Judgment being just installed. Unless my spanish is a to rusty that is xD

I’m so sick and tired of the fanboys. Both are amazing, and that’s all that matters. This is the closest that two consoles have been since the 7th generation.
Agreed, honestly the only 2 reasons I chose the ps5 were because I already have a good gaming pc and because of the dual sense. Otherwise they’re equally insane, and they both have some great games (ps5 has the big narrative blockbusters and Xbox/pc have the best service ever being GamePass)
This generation is awesome for both sides. However we all know that the only reason the loading times are so similar is because most developers are not using the new PS5 storage API yet.
When we take a look at the loading times of Sony games like Spiderman or demons souls, it is easy to see that PS5 SSD is at another level

Good choice. I love my series X, switched from PS4. For now, since there aren't many next gen games, the previous gen One X enhancements have been a great bonus for older games

Personal advice, get a series s. It’s a MONSTER. Faster than the series x although graphics are not as great, but they rival the one X

@@theperson1133 I did have one but I sold it, I couldn’t stand the storage and I preferred to use discs. Those are honestly the only issues I had everything else was great.
In short, the Xbox has a faster booting speed while the PS5 has a faster loading time. Both are great consoles.

@@b0b203 No, the thing is that the Xbox UI is still in 1080p, so if you have a 4K tv you'll still see an upscaled 1080 UI to 4K.
You can kinda notice it sometimes, if it looks blurry that's the reason.
Still, it would really impact the boot time.

I love both, and they are definitely similar on this gen. I prefer the PlayStation only for its exclusives games, but I really want both. This gen is really revolutionary

Console wars are about the dumbest thing ever once you're past the age of 11. Brand loyalty is selling your soul to corporations that don't care about you.
Much better for us consumers to compare and contrast and have thoughtful discussions about which is the better product for our hard-earned money.
This generation is different. Both companies are releasing a massive amount of exclusives but the genres are different. Xbox has rpgs and fps locked down but ps5 will have more single player story games. Xbox has a subscription service worth subscribing to as well. Load times and graphics on both consoles will be negligible. We are looking at a return to the 360 and ps3 era of competition with Xbox really using Microsoft’s tech to reach multiple platforms with streaming.
Xbox is only getting the most popular rpgs, but most of the rpg and jrpgs are on PS5 and Switch. What u say is only marketing.

@@kevinbarbeau The problem with mentioning the Switch in topics regarding Xbox/PS5 in general is how some people have a kind of trigger to mock it. No one denies Nintendo has a reputation for being kid friendly, nor having less power. Yet it does surprisingly well sale-wise. I'd much rather play Zelda, Super Smash, Xenoblade and Fire Emblem than what these consoles offer, but some people can barely believe anyone who's not a kid can enjoy Nintendo games as they're fully entranced in their incessant need to confirm their own "adulthood" through video games rather than having fun with them. It's a damn mystery why they are this way, but I doubt you'll get anywhere arguing with them

Normal, PS5 has a compression algorithm that makes games take up less space. On the XBOX it is normal the time it takes. It is what it takes on a PC to dump a backup from the blu-ray disc to the SDD disk.

@@fredyandressuarez8587 the ps5 and series x are almost the same, it's not like one x and ps4 pro, and generally, it's the same graphical quality, 200p above the ps5 resolution( in some games, specially ray tracing ones) and lower fps when compared to the ps5( in some games, specially those where xbox uses higher resolution), so that does not really justify the time.

I own both systems, but I’ve noticed that the PS5 fails to actually load or omits to show the studio loading screens on game start ups. If they did I’m sure game loading would be much closer. However the PS5 SSD installs disc based games twice or even three times as fast as the Xbox series X. In any event both are major upgrades over their predecessors by a long shot.
I think showing the studio loading screen the first time booting up is enough.

As far as I know, Quick Resume in Xbox is like you can switch between the games you already launched without restarting them. For example I can pause in Yakuza in a boss fight and switch to DOOM, play a little bit, and switch back to Yakuza to continue the boss fight from exactly where I paused, no progress lost.
I remember PS5 doesn't have this feature...or does it now?
As someone who has been playing a lot of Xbox, hopping back to my game's last second has been a blessing whenever I decide to hop back to a game
To my knowledge the PS5 doesn't have Quick Resume but knowing how faster the SSD is, no doubt it should

Resident Evil 8 also wow that game is using Cerny I/O is very very fast.
You think Resident Evil loads fast on PS5 check out Astro’s Playroom, Spider-Man Mile’s Morale, Returnal, Ratchet & Clank, Sackboy’s Adventure & Demon Souls..etc
All of them almost instant load times.
That's because the xbox was downloading a larger file.
The Xbox disc was 31GB and the ps5 disc was 20GB
@@Brentt777 So? The other guy mentioned that the XSX file was 31GB while the PS5 was 20GB, so let's do some math here. PS5 disc download time was 13 minutes (rounded) and XSX is 31 minutes (rounded). Xbox installed at a rate of about 1GB/m, which is amazing but the PS5 installed at a rate of about 1.54GB/m. If XSX file was also 20GB, it would install in about 20 minutes, which is still slower.

FYI: At the Disc Install comparison, I think you are comparing PS5 (install only) vs Series X (Install + update download)
Correct me if I'm wrong but for the Xbox, when the progress bar reaches the green triangle symbol, it indicates the game is ready to start. Any additional time beyond that point is the Xbox downloading and installing update data.
At exactly 5:00 into the video, you can see at the top right corner of the PS5 that 2 additional update data were sent to the download que. Those updates have not been downloaded and installed yet.

Indeed, but the strange thing is that there are some friends of Xbox fans who consider that this difference is what makes the Xbox better than the PlayStation 5, but they are wrong and the other thing and most importantly is the time it takes to download the games. On the PlayStation 5, it took 12 and a half hours to download the game Only half a day, but the Xbox Series X took 31 hours, any day and a quarter of the day here decides the difference

@@mytoys25 so the ps5 is faster. The comparison is more apparent when it comes to first party titles. Final fantasy 7 intergrade literally loads from the ps5 UI to in the game in 9 seconds whereas it took 50 seconds or 1 minute on the ps4

Obviously X-Men’s Quicksilver is faster. The Avengers version doesn’t even dodge bullets! PS5 SSD is indeed faster. With additional Kraken compression, this is not even a competition.

Assassin's Creed on PS5 is an entire 17GB smaller for some reason, and the disc install test was 11GB smaller. I did some digging and it appears the PS5 uses a different type of file format that allows for higher compression to reduce the overall size of games. It explains why the Xbox is quicker during startup and loading the home UI, but slower for installations and loading games. The PS5 just has smaller files to deal with.

AC Valhalla is poorly optimized for the new gen consoles, and takes forever to boot/load. Meanwhile RE8 is a good example of optimization imo, at least in terms of taking advantage of the respective console's SSD.

@@kaichristensen7984 quick resume is good, but if you want to do a different thing in your playthrough you have to backtrack from when you left on QR. That's when the Activities feature on PS5 shines because you can jump to any part of the game from the console OS.
Why did resident evil take 8 years to show screens on xbox while ps had none? Is that just loading or what.
The title should be "boot times" not loading since loading implies what is happening on the software end

@@gamersmudngrubshow6119 when it comes to loading once the software is running is where the ps5s i/o stack starts to be used by developers is the only reason i mention the difference. MS did a great job optimizing their OS to account for things like faster cold boot system times and things like quick resume. They caught sony flat footed with that, and i guess vice versa for games proper(ofc devs have to actually optimize their games for this as well which is extra work for non exclusives that may not be considered worth it)
"Boot" is when the power cycles on. The rest is "loading" handled by either the OS and/or devs in-game _loading_ instructions to memory ready for use by the cpu. Edit: no os or software need to be running for a boot.

Me gusto el video, esta claro que ambas empresas se dieron cuenta de la importancia de nuestro tiempo, con que ambas consolas tengan SSD es un paso enorme para el jugador, si hay tiempo mejores y otros peores, pero no deja de ser una gran verdad que en ambas consolas ganaron los consumidores.
Siendo partidaridario, me encanta lo que hizo sony con PS5.
Respeto que te guste mas la ps5 sin embargo a mi me gusta mas xbox las dos consolas son buenas y eso no hay que negarlo

Lo unico que me detiene es que tengo una muy buena PC, osea, no tengo la necesidad de una consola de microsoft, en cambio sony como explime el hardware para entregar software unico, para mi, eso lo cambia todo.
Lo mismo nintendo, tiene un hardware obsoleto, pero el software que entregan exprimiendo cada rincon de sus componentes es increíble en muchos casos.
A mi me encanta el sistema de game pass de xbox, es incomparable com el de otras consolas

@@tristaaaaan if you want to play other game you can and do not need to close the last game, you can switch to games instantly they keep running in the background so only takes 2 sec to back to the last game you played

Same for me I love 3rd person action adventure but I love shooters and MP just as much so I had to get both pieces of fantastic hardware the Xbox in particular I bought just for the hardware.

It’s crazy how fast the PS5 downloads are compared to the Series X. Last generation Xbox was quicker than PlayStation, but Sony really kicked it in gear with its installation speeds this generation.

Own both consoles but i do prefer the PS5 myself. The Dualsense controller is leagues above the Series X controller and the loading times on games are super fast. Quick Resume and Game Pass are the only things i like about the Series X.
Its crazy, Sony has kept updating the controller and still some people are calling it trash what more do they want? Batterys? Every other controller now feels outdated to me after using dualsence it really adds more to the experience.
Me too... i own both of the consoles but prefere clearly ps5 atm, the pad is just freakin' amazing. But i cant wait on horza fackin' horizon 5! 😄

@@doomslayer1210 The pad isnt just better cause his vibration. The ergonomic is much better. Sometimes, i play 1 hour on my ps5 and after that i play on my series x and the difference is that big! Before the dualshock5, the xbox pad always was my favourite but that one owns everything easly.

File compression on PS5 is way better which is why despite having less storage space, may as well fit more games than the XSX

I will just say resolution and framerate are not absolute measures of performance, whats important is IMAGE QUALITY (post processing effects, advanced lighting, particle effects, etc) The more you have of thise things the more resolution and framerate you have to sacrifice, on PC, PS5 or XSX. Take for examole The Medium. It runs like crap on XSX and also on PC, even powerful ones because it is not well optimized and has a lot going on. Read about this stuff and don't fall for marketing buzzwords. Peace

First you have to start one game then another game then when you switch to that previous game it comes in work so that's why that didn't do it
Me encantó el ancho de banda que tiene la PS5, en lo que es velocidad de instalación le da la vuelta completamente a Xbox y eso me gusta ya que odiaba los tiempos de copiado de archivos en la PS4.
En lo que es a velocidad de encendido ahí es puro sistema operativo y Xbox esta muy bien optimizado.
Pero en fin, compraré la PS5 por sus juegos, todo lo demás lo tengo en PC y no necesito la Xbox por ahora.

La verdad que xbox lo hizo muy bien con la retro y muchas cosas mas pero me parece que cuando las cosas se hacen bien hay que decirlas y con respecto a playstation se nota muchisimo el sistema de compresion y velocidad del ssd. Ambas son consolas next gen sin dudas.

If a game is developed to use the ssd, most of the time if not all, the Ps5 will load it much faster. If not, most of the time the xsx will load it faster because it has a slight faster cpu clock
The same can be said for Xbox honestly . There has yet to be a game made specifically for it.

The Series X fares extremely well considering the PS5's SSD is supposed to be doubly as fast. People will argue that Sony's first-party games will take advantage of the SSD, but so will Microsoft's!
PS5 has faster SSD, Xbox has better Graphics, both are awesome!

how did you get your series x to download so fast? i get max 480mbps on my computer and phone when running a speed test. but on my xbox i only get a max of 230mbps even when on the 5G wifi, or ethernet . ive done everything i can do to try to fix this issue, ive had this issue since i had my One S in 2018 when we switched to the 400mbps plan with my provider. it has always capped at 230ish down

Ay un pequeño problema al momento de la descarga se puede dar cuenta, que el juego en la play 5 pesa menos que en la Xbox series X, por eso también creo que tiene que ver con su tiempo de descarga más prolongado, es un factor que tienen que darse cuenta al hacer las comparativas ya que hay que poner a las consolas en las mismas condiciones, cómo por ejemplo los juegos y lo demás, por eso pienso que las descargas siempre van a variar tanto por el tiempo de descarga como el tamaño de la descarga que nos pudimos dar cuenta en el vídeo

Eso se debe a que PS5 utiliza un algoritmo de compresión de software muy superior al que posee Xbox Series X/S. Básicamente los juegos que sacan provecho de esos nuevos algoritmos tienen una reducción del 25% (como mínimo) en tamaño del software. Por eso pesan más en Xbox. En la anterior generación ocurrió lo mismo. La PS4 usaba zlib, y Xbox One no lo usaba, y eso marcó la diferencia.
Eso es parte de lo que ayuda a que sea mas rápida. Lo que vos decir es como decir que habría que hacer ajustes porque una Ferrari es mas rápida que un Camry, y que si no hubieran diferencias aerodinámicas y de motor ambos vehículos serian igualmente rápidos.

How can you compare Digital downloads with each other? It's dependent on the internet speed at that very moment, it's got nothing to do with the SSD speeds.
Idk why but whenever I download games in my Xbox it always download below my internet connection, when I download in PS4 or 5 it goes full speed, maybe a config, don't know 🤔
Also Ps5 version is 61GB and the Xbox was 78GB so 🤷🏻♂️

As someone who owns both last gen versions of these newer consoles im really impressed by both, I really feel like they tried their hardest to make load times shorter than their older brothers, which they succeded in doing that but sony went for the "games load faster loading" Approach and MS went for the "console loads faster" Approach, Still though im very impressed by both 😃

@@acrusader9834 PS doesn't need to fix its loading time on startup. I love seeing the extra animations PS5 shows. You only turn it on once, the game loading times is what matters. Almost all games load faster on the PS5

Acabo de comprobar en la store que el peso de judgment de ps5 es de 30gb y lo que instala en el video del analistadebits pesa 20gb. Los 10 restantes los intala mientras juegas. Igual que la xbox si le hubiera dado a iniciar juego cuando se lo marca. Total:
Peso en xbox: 33gb
Peso en ps5; 30gb
Tiempo de instalación hasta poder jugar en xbox: 13 minutos
Tiempo de instalacion hasta poder jugar en ps5: 12:45
Estaría bien una rectificación

Control Ultimate Edition: 25.7 GB vs 43.6 GB
Hitman 3: 61.9 GB vs 65 GB
Subnautica: 3.8 GB vs 8.3 GB
Crash Bandicoot 4: 20.0 GB vs 28.0 GB
He comprobado que esos GB son los que marcan en sus respectivas Stores.
Por cierto, fíjate en lo que pone el texto debajo de la barra de progreso de instalación en PS5.

And quick resume works basically instantly. There is actually 0 seconds delay.

Why would you compare the install game when on valhalla ps5 is 61gb and the XSX is 78gb ? and on judgment the ps5 is 20gb and XSX is 31gb ? The xbox is loading in more stuff..if you can't find a game the same size then leave it out..
