body heat usually generates about 7 degrees centigrade to the heat sensor, so subtracting 7 from the watch reading should give you a good ballpark figure for the temperature of your surroundings.
Unfortunately, no. I always need to take the watch off for a while to get a proper reading. That's why some watches are sold with a carabiner attachment for climbers.
If it were truly 37 degrees C out, and I was also at 37 degrees, then I am pretty sure the watch would read 37 degrees. If I follow your suggestion, then I would subtract 7 and assume it is actually 30 degrees out.
@P_Ezi Why would the sensor suddenly become accurate at a body's core temperature? And, of course, your skin temperature can be higher than your body's core temperature in certain situations.
@@TheShotenZenjin Because the sensor _will read accurately_ if it is off of your wrist for several minutes, and when it is on your wrist it will read somewhere between the ambient temp and your core temp. If ambient temp were the same as your core then the true answer would have to be somewhere between 37 and 37, which means it will read 37.
I have loads of casios that hardly see any wrist time anymore, BUT this is the one piece that I constantly go back to as my secondary travel watch. Truly a great piece.
I agree it's a watch you can just put on before you leave home and pretty much not having to worry about it until you return no matter what you are doing while traveling.
I liked this review so much I went to the Amazon site and bought the one reviewed the Casio SGW-100-2BCF. All you said it was sir! I too am going to love it wear it use it ! Thanks for the Great advice !!!
I bought the SGW1000 (yesterday!)which is almost identical to this one! It has the triple sensor and positive display. The backlight is like wearing a torch on your wrist and fits my 7.5in wrist perfectly. I already have a ProTrek in my collection which has almost the same functions but cost a whole lot more.
Just received my SGW100 and I must say your videos message was very accurate (not that I doubted that). This is a gem, and a bargain. Dare I say it has touches of the Mr.G range with the colourful metallic bezel and polished screws. It hugs my 6.75” wrist and is very comfortable. LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Had this one in my collection for a few years now. It is the only Casio I own that I prefer the negative display model over the positive display model.
I had seen this when trawling Amazon but was put off, like you because of the negative display. But on the back of your review I jumped and bought one quick. As you say, for 45 nicker, why not.....😊
LOVE your videos. I actually bought the SGW-100-2BCF about 2 months ago. Like one of your comments, the negative turned me off so much I sent it back. HOWEVER, seeing your review again, I may have to add it to the collection along with the SGW100B-3V version as well. Where can I get one of the Casio Corner shirts like you wear? I MUST have one. If you HAVEN'T seen the, take a look at the AE1500WH, GBD-100/200 and the new GD-010. I accidentally bought the orange GD-010 with the negative display and returned it. Just unreadable. However, definitely going to go back for either the black or green version of it. And, JSYK, the 2BCF is $47 US while the 3V (Velcro strap) and 1V (resin strap) are $41 US. Just AMAZING! Thanks for your content and delivery! Spot on!
Casio used to have a triple sensor watch that looked like a pro trek for $50. I can't remember the model number but I gave it to my Dad about 5 years ago as a gift and he still has it. It's the only budget Casio he's owned that hasn't needed a new strap after two years.
This is the best alternative to a Pro Trek for sure, as a matter of fact this is my go to beater now. This really is a fine watch and looks good on small or larger wrists. Really nice watch and it's hard to believe how much watch you get for under 40 dollars.
Best Casio ever the SGW100!!!! The positive display (grey screen) makes it even better. Mine is about 15yrs old now and I still wear it almost daily. 3 battery changes and it still holding up. Yard work and went swimming a few weeks ago with it. Never needed a gshock. It’s a beast watch!!!
Only one I use... I've been using pro trek 340t as my daily use watch and the digital / analog 6600 model as my more fancier version when I want something that's not all metal... and the one you were showing here I have used before but I gave to one of my kids, but a soil entry watch into the protrek series... 😎✌️
That's an absolute belter, Russ. Thanks for finding and showing-I hope it is as easy to buy as I would like. Casio are very good at leaving people wanting more. If it is available at £45 in the UK I'm going to be very bold and put it in top watch of the year territory.
Very cool, and it’s an insane value for the price! Love how the wife punted the Tudors across the pitch but “liked” this one. Congrats! I think… how much was that Tudor again? 🤔
I've own a sgw 100, positivee screen, in green, for 11 years, great watch for the money. Very funcional, nota just the compass but also the world tiene, cause You can see two time zones at the same time.
Best outdoor Casio that isn't part of the G-Shock family! I had the black and silver version until it was stolen from me on a camping trip, along with all my fancy camping/bushcraft equipment and tools...not the nicest memory but whatever lol.
Casio Lineage (JDM) LCW-M170TD-1AJF: titanium, sapphire, MB6, 100m WR. Good looking ana-digi with much functionality. Buy in Japan, mine cost GBP 160. Bracelet isn't much, but put it on a strap and you'll be fine.
Lucky I am an early riser. Your video was launched shortly after midnight in Australia. I viewed it at about 7:00am and 5 minutes in decided I wanted one. Not a common watch in this part of the world but found one “as new” in Sydney and grabbed it. It has an orange band, with an orange keeper, and that logo. Many thanks! This hobby keeps on giving.
I had two TS-100's as a kid. Always on the look out for another as well as a W-750 marlin like my Grandad had, But they are both mental money in a decent state now! The SG is cool but some years ago when I lost a G300 somewhere in the engine bay of my MBG never to be seen again I replaced it with a tough solar AQ-S810W which really *is* a cheap and cheerful G-Shock in all but name. My son, who is younger the the watch, wears it now and I have replaced the lost G-shock with an AW591 that does have the negative display which yes makes it very hard to read but does look the nuts especially on a black webbing zulu I nicked off my garmin fenix. 🍻
Reminds me of the Casio WS210H-1AV - Moon and Tide Graph, and solar powered for about $35 USD! Another Casio that is almost a G shock that is great value for the money.
That is a very cool watch you found there... like a hidden gem. Good job! :) Will there ever be a *Seiko Corner* in the (near) future as well? I think what would be awesome!
That's funny coz other week I'm checked pro trek for buy and now is vid about this watch.😊 They even exist with triple sensor or even with solar power.😀
I have this one in the positive display. My most worn watch because I wear it for a several hours every day. I put it on when I get out of bed in the morning and it has coffee and reads the news and checks out RUclips. Then goes for a walk with me and times my breakfast cooking and lives on my wrist til I shower and decide what to wear and what watch I will be wearing for the rest of the day. Sometimes I just wear it all day. It has been in the pool and done a lot of yard work and looks like the day I got it. Closest thing I have to a beater.
For reals, I was sporting my green and black version today, no cap. Gonna have to get that negative one, now, ain't I! You know 😂I am gonna get another. CASIOOOOOOOOH
Well Mad Watch Collector....i wouldn't want everybody to miss out on the Casio Tough Solar .... Model AQ-S810W-1A2VEF ... currently on sale from Argos priced £34.99 would i !!!! ..... I'm orf to order online right Now 😊😊😊😊
I have that watch and used it in various army navigation trainings. Everything about it is perfect BUT the timer on its light/compass. Its compass does not track long enough so your constantly hitting the button to get a read. In the dark its worst because your trying to hit the light and compass buttons to get a read. I wanted to love that watch SOOO bad but I just got a protrek
Hi great channel and thanks for your hard work,.I'm thinking of buying a gwg 100 or possibly gwg 1000 can you tell me if all mudmasters have a serial number stamped on the back, I'm wary of buying anything that might be a fake. Thanks very much. P.s I've tried to research this but getting conflicting messages on the web.
This watch has been on my cart for a VERY long time. I need to sell some watches before I buy any more haha. Though it is a beauty & functionality for such a small price.
I have this watch with the orange and black bezel. I removed the six screws for a more stealth look and nothing fell apart. Thin-wristers can wear this one. Have you any experience with the full-lume dial G-Shock?
im kinda laming the duck on gshock atm because they really need a new mrg. at least a g series. like mrgg3000. the last ones still got the 10 seconds minute hand tick.
I love your enthusiasm for everything Casio!
MWC, you are so good at convincing me to add another Casio to collection. Of course I had to buy it. Cheers from USA!

Just look at your phone

Bought one a couple of weeks ago, it's a Pro-trek without the branding, and mine cost me £30 😄.
Model no. Plz
@ayushhhhh1133 SGW-100
Where from???
My favourite digital is w218H. It lacks functions but it's extremely legible and has "normally" placed seconds and is the loudest watch I ever had

I've had that exact watch for years and have always enjoyed wearing it. Great choice, and great show!!!
Wow! I’ve never seen this Casio before but I really like it! Major G Shock/Pro Trek vibes but for a much lower price!
Awesome show as always MWC!
Just placed my order this evening ⌚️, can’t wait !

Got the same on the green nylon strap that is amazing quality for the price and very durable
Peach of a watch
Hello mate. Love your reviews. You got me into seiko . Now I need a long run up with the misses to get one more. Cheers.
Cheers Garry!
“She hasn’t seen a purple one before…” You did very well to keep a straight face after you realised what you had said 😂😂
Had one of these for a few years. Great watch.

I have the positive display one, great watch.
The best episodes on your channel when talking about Casio
Russ this is really cool, it is a gem! Great review, love it 👍

I've got the positive display version with the fabric strap. Awesome watch!
Great video !!! Buying one for myself. Keep up the great work !
I got the positive display version imported to India for around $70, and I absolutely love it.
Very cool, and it’s an insane value for the price! Love how the wife punted the Tudors across the pitch but “liked” this one. Congrats! I think… how much was that Tudor again? 🤔

Thank you MWC for bringing this Casio to everyone’s attention.
I bought one halfway into the video, godtier!!!
Me too!
What an awesome find! 👌 Thanks for sharing this one 🤩
Just bought one, thank you for bringing this lovely beaut to my attention!
That’s awesome love it. Going to buy it now
Just bought one - no brainier. Thanks, Russ!

Thanks for watching my friend! Appreciate the support and soooooo glad I’ve increased y’Casio collection!!
I have casio timber cruise tic 103 🔥
Crazy underated watch💪
Instant buy. Could use a compass when hiking. I trust it works better than some cheap Walmart one plus i get a watch, timer etc
Casio is a awesome watch by far the best of bang for your buck. My Casio diver has been bullet proof for over 5yrs 40us$
Very cool find...looking for it right now. Casio makes some really fun tech.
Thank you!! Just ordered one.
Nice watch but negative display and lugs to lugs are a no go for me 😮 Nice video Russ 😀
I had two TS-100's as a kid. Always on the look out for another as well as a W-750 marlin like my Grandad had, But they are both mental money in a decent state now!

Bought mine in about 2010. My go to beater watch and on it’s 2nd battery.
Love this watch!
Definitely entertaining! Keep on keeping on!
I bought the 3VCF version & love it. But like that model I’m also outdated!🤪🤣👍🏼
I’m wearing the green version of this watch right now.
Me too!
@ looks much better in person than the pictures.
I'm not but i like it. 👍
I too have the green version
Always loved this watch Russ!! Great pic!!
That's funny coz other week I'm checked pro trek for buy and now is vid about this watch.😊 They even exist with triple sensor or even with solar power.😀
The Casio SPF-201 has a similar strap fixing method. If you did not see tese type. Thanks for the video🥰🤗
Love your channel. ❤.
Question: How do you choose what watch to wear each day?
I actually like the look of that. Nice find, MWC 👍
Have both the negative & positive versions. 😎
How legible is the negative display?
I have this one in the positive display. My most worn watch because I wear it for a several hours every day. I put it on when I get out of bed in the morning and it has coffee and reads the news and checks out RUclips. Then goes for a walk with me and times my breakfast cooking and lives on my wrist til I shower and decide what to wear and what watch I will be wearing for the rest of the day. Sometimes I just wear it all day. It has been in the pool and done a lot of yard work and looks like the day I got it. Closest thing I have to a beater.
Love it. Just ordered one via Amazon.👍🏻
Nice watch Russ! I love it
For reals, I was sporting my green and black version today, no cap. Gonna have to get that negative one, now, ain't I! You know 😂I am gonna get another. CASIOOOOOOOOH
For me,this was the first Casio. From here its started the madness for me ; ]]
Almost perfect except for the 60 minute stopwatch. Casio is clever that way so we keep on looking at new models.😂
This type of strap mount was used in several g-shocks actually. The cult classic G-056 for example.
Nice find 👍
Orange, purple and green are complementary colours :)
LOVE IT
Cheers RAYRAY!!!!!!
Me, too.
The GW-056 had a similar springbar mounting design
I bought this last Christmas for 11$ from the walmarts. It’s a good’un!
Well Mad Watch Collector....i wouldn't want everybody to miss out on the Casio Tough Solar .... Model AQ-S810W-1A2VEF ... currently on sale from Argos priced £34.99 would i !!!! ..... I'm orf to order online right Now 😊😊😊😊
I upgraded to Casio G-Shock GBD-H2000. It's satellite updated, Bluetooth updated, solar, USB, and MIP screen.
This is as 45 nicka!!!
I did have one. The ND was pretty good too. Sold it and kinda regretted it.
I want one of them f91 W Casios with your picture on it ! Casio should make them !
I was JUST thinking about buying this watch! TMWC reading minds?
I love my Casio watches. Now I need to turn back all my watches for the end of Daylight Savings Time. Except my Casio Wavecepter. It changes itself.
Can you see the inverse display well?
Fair play mad man, you do find some gems 👍🏻
Gonna go buy this "Puppy"...right now!!
I got this 2 months ago, yes baby!
And then there's me collecting mdv107s... 🤣
Hi great channel and thanks for your hard work,.I'm thinking of buying a gwg 100 or possibly gwg 1000 can you tell me if all mudmasters have a serial number stamped on the back, I'm wary of buying anything that might be a fake. What a bargain, Casio still killing it after all these years
Added to my Amazon watch list :)
That really doesn’t look like a 44mm watch, and definitely not 50mm L2L.. it’s a nice looking watch! Good find!
Love it!!
Wow I just bought this watch last week from Amazon.
This watch has been on my cart for a VERY long time. I need to sell some watches before I buy any more haha. Though it is a beauty & functionality for such a small price.
Very similar to one of their Protrek models I had about 10 yrs ago, but that was about 300 quid
I have this watch with the orange and black bezel. I removed the six screws for a more stealth look and nothing fell apart. Thin-wristers can wear this one. Have you any experience with the full-lume dial G-Shock?
Have one of these but I don't love the negative display
I loved my TS-100
OMG!! This seems like a must have. What’s the model number
It's the giggle when he says the wife hasn't seen a purple one 😂
Doubling the budget gets you a Gshock MTG-M900 which has a similar screen layout but ditches the twin sensor in favour of solar and multiband 6.
im kinda laming the duck on gshock atm because they really need a new mrg. at least a g series. like mrgg3000. the last ones still got the 10 seconds minute hand tick.
This watch is nearly 100 € here in Germany. That is too much.
