• CORRECTIONS Episode 57...
Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth
The Cousteau bit has provoked a new breed of Jackals: the Jacquals.
Jacque le bleu!
As soon as I saw "Jacque-Ass" I thought that someone here was a real "Jacque-Al"
Oui, oui, mon ami
The Correctionism Schism
Yes that is the obvious and very good pun imho!
I’m just waiting for the correction to come next week of “Turns out, my family DOES watch this show…”
Sister-in-law Ariel / Ursula is going to be waiting with a rolling pin.
I, also.
To the bank, not grave, lol
🙃
Seth just loves making enemies in corrections. At this rate, by the end of the year he'll have his own rogues gallery.
"These days while not happy are still days" is an oddly inspiring thought.
I want that on a shirt so bad!
this needs to go on a mug. all jackals need this
Awww, my Jacque-ass comment got a mention! Thanks, Seth!
EDIT: the "Quit your Twining" end card was chef's kiss.
Congrats! I too have had the experience of Seth reading my comment during Corrections and it's great fun! But I can save you and your post office some trouble: there is no check coming, so don't ask.
(I added a "LOL" and realized that's the comment section equivalent of a laugh track, and laugh tracks are lame).
@@jimschleich8753 yeah... I didn't expect a check 🤣
this jackal is genuinely happy for you! love corrections like no other 🐾
Lmao that was great. Kudos!!!
@@jimschleich8753 rofl so true with the laugh track lmao
Seth, I'm requesting an urgent correction! Not to anything you said, but to the NBC Store. The jackal mugs are currently only shipped to the United States and Puerto Rico. We need international shipping! Sincerely, a Finnish jackal
I, a Dutch Jackal, second this
@@Cpt_nice a Hong Kong Jackal "thirds" this sentiment
Yay i need to come to brazil!
fourthed from an aussie
I know (from previous communications on here) there are quite a few jackals in/from New Zealand/Aotearoa)
and dare I, (yes I dare), speak for my ANZAC cousins - Australia too!
ps - hopefully next time i'm in Oz, I can redeem this anzac goodwill for some drop bear repellent
That Xanax joke was a beautiful thing. This segment is solid gold.
Agreed. That was a really sly joke. Very well done
@America Project was that even intentional lmao
".. because she is more of an Ursula." And then to have that song! My dear friends, this is why we love this show so much!
he is nuts
I literally laughed out loud when he did that!
He better HOPE none of his family see this episode! 😂
"she's a great producer: fast, thorough, sharp as a tack" really got me
Loved it.
I didn't get it at all, so I'm guessing other people won't. Turns out for any others who don't get it that "I want a girl with the right allocations who is fast, and thorough, and sharp as a tack" is a Cake lyric (or "are Cake lyrics"? idk).
@@kypzethdurron, thank you! Please feel appreciated.
I'm so glad someone else caught that! There was a criminal lack of laughter from the audience.
CORRECTION: You can take what Wanda Sykes says "TO THE BANK" not "TO THE GRAVE". When something is truthful and ironclad, you can take it to the bank; if it's a secret, you take it to the grave.
Pretty obscure reference that maybe twelve people got: Seth describes his CAKE-loving producer as "sharp as a tack," which is, of course, a lyric in "Short Skirt, Long Jacket."
Thank you for this. My CAKE knowledge begins at "Never There" and ends at the cover of "I Will Survive".
@@cobrasys ditto! And I saw other comments referring to Seth saying “sharp as a tack,” but that’s just one of those comments that asking for it to be explained to you will just result in more than a little roasting. So I wasn’t willing to ask 😂 So *THANK YOU @Memo2Self!*
@@cobrasys
_My_ CAKE knowledge begins at what is cooked for your birthday and ends at what is made for a wedding reception. :)
Not familiar with the group.
@@Bill_Garthright Not gonna lie, I like _that_ kind of CAKE a lot more... 😆😆
Only Fonz sounds like a service where you pay $5 a month to have someone send you pictures of Henry Winkler giving you the thumbs up, and when it starts... I will sign up for it.
💯
I can't believe this was the only "Only Fonz" reference in the comments! Did no-one else get the reference?!
I fkn lost it at "if you like burgers get in my van kids" I was listening in my headphones and my wife asked me why I was laughing hysterically.
*respect* to the jackal who came up with the Russian 'days' lyrics - *thank you* on behalf of all of us
I want Seth singing it as my ring tone
@@MariaVosa Search 'how to make your own ring tone from a video'.
also the Only Fonz joke was great
Étienne-O was subtle and well done. Chapeau monsieur.
I assumed it was Étienne-Eau, sticking to the water theme.
@@makiburgess5733 even better!
Chapeau!
"Tuesday, Wednesday, Again...are days" Was a brilliant segment.
also the way so many of us feel
Honestly, Corrections made Pizza Hut relevant to me again since I haven't thought about eating there for years until Pizza Hatz. 😂
Real Detroit style pizza is awesome. The national chains can't do it right.
Authentic Detroit-style pizza is made with 10w-40 weight motor oil instead of olive oil.
@@dahawk8574 - LOL!!!
The same place that gave us MC5 and Iggy And The Stooges only uses the "hard stuff".
Little Caesar's has it all the time. And cheaper. You can make it at home with an oil pan. That's what the style is, pizza made in an oil pan.
Likely what have reminded me back then, that Pizza Hut is sadly one of the better options around here. I am not a fan of the Pizza's around, and there are so many places. All terrible.
Seth deserves an Emmy for his performance in these.
Now I want a T-shirt that says "Subscribe to my OnlyFonz"
That joke did NOT get enough crew appreciation lol
I want Corrections filmed with a 360 camera so we can look at the crew reactions to all of this!!!
I would love a crew reaction shot!
It was not three months ago that you had Wanda Sykes as a guest on Jokes Seth Can't Tell and declared that "black women who are lesbians are liars".
Hey! Does that mean white men are liars!?! 🤯
Obviously Seth is also a liar. Even without being either black, female, or gay.
It was a lie.
I would be heartbroken if corrections ever went away.
I feel the same about you. Seth...Hey Seth.....I found another one!
You and all of us for sure.
I made this comment last week to a different post, yet here we are again - Jackals have hearts?
Everyone Friday I scroll and if I don’t see it right away I get this bump of anxiety…
Well it will. Everything ends. Some day, long after our sun has died and boiled away the last drop of water on earth, the last star in the universe will burn out and the temperature of everything will drop to absolute zero, leaving the universe cold and dark for the rest of eternity.
"Fast, thorough, sharp as a tack" You go Seth with your Cakerections!
Was he really that excited about it though? I know all the Cake fans are 🤣
You can take what Wanda Sykes says “to the bank”. What you “take to the grave” is the fact that you secretly love Pepsi.
Crystal Pepsi
Seth, you regaled us with 2 songs! What a wonderful singing voice you have! Of course this means you'll be the lead for Cicada, Cicada, no?
Maybe you meant "You can take that to the bank" instead of to the grave? Unless it was a secret.
Correction: you said Black lesbians are honest on here but when you had Wanda Sykes on the show you claimed "Black women who are lesbians are liars"
I also thought back to this
Seth got it backwards. Wanda Sykes is a lesbian who is also a black woman.
Aha! Who is the liar now?
Also to really be a jackal: Seth suggested if Wanda Sykes tells us something we should “take it to the grave”.... you usually take secrets to your grave, not all truth needs to be taken to your grave lol
@@madisonbaron6670 Yeah, it should've been, "take it to the bank."
Love the card back at the end while Seth takes the slightest sip of what is obviously the gin that the English Breakfast tea bag floated in since last week! Subtle brilliance!!
One of the best parts of Fall is the return of the show and, especially, Corrections.
SSIR I knowhowyoufeel.
💙🐾
The wait was horrible!
Thank you Seth and the whole crew for making this. It is a real bright point in my day. Thank you all in the comments section as well, it's half the fun just scrolling through all the happy comments and witty jokes.
The very first correction was one I pointed out last time. Now I can retire as a jackal, and hang up my.... jacks?
Congrats! Have your paws dipped in gold! 🐾
Sorry but you can not retire. Once a jackal, always a jackal.
This has MAJOR 'my ambien is kicking in' vibes. All over the place but somehow it all ties up neatly in the end.
I was woken up by an annoyingly early text message this morning, but then realized I was able to get up and have a coffee while I watched Corrections. Things are looking up.
I love that he's still doing the "you see me next week" thing. :D
At 10:45, you reference searching a document by using "open apple F." The correct term is "command F." The open/closed apple nomenclature is an antiquated term carried over from the Apple II computer series where the keyboard featured both an open (hollow) and closed (filled) apple keys on opposite sides of the spacebar, each of which performing a different function.
“She’s fast thorough sharp as a tack” 😂
I screamed when he said "fast, thorough, sharp as a tack"
I have been singing last week's "these are days" all week!!
so have I!
So many good bits today. SIL Ursula; family doesn’t watch corrections; sponsors or not. Just everything. I look forward to this every week. I think because it’s a more intimate look into the minds of Seth and his crew. I’ll see you next week. ❤
This segment brings me unparalleled joy - thank you for keeping it going!
I really enjoyed your singing this Corrections, especially when you sang about your family as Michael McDonald. More of this please.
honestly, this episode was truly dedicated to the jackals, and seth delivered his praise exquisitely.
Seth used my Ariel correction! I can die and go to Jackal heaven now!
I'm embarrassed to say the vegan gin joke took me a minute... Worth it.
It could have been morphed into another Werner Herzog installment...
Bee'feeder Gin.
"The number of bees it takes to make just one bottle of gin is reminiscent of the colonial slave trade. And when their queen dies, the bees ...oh, the bees. They become destitute alcoholics. They are no longer just Killer Bees. They become Grizzly Bees. I watched the video of what these bees did, but I cannot show it to you... Suffice it to say, please, for the love of God, drink Gordon's Gin instead."
I'm embarrassed to say it took me all the way up until reading this comment.... extra worth it.
My mental process was "What could possibly be replaced in Gordon's that is used in Beef... oh. Haha haha!"
Dammit I just this second got it.
a Lot of brit beer is Not "vegan" not even vegetarian Be Careful and look up "isinglass"... horrible.
6:04 A wise man once said, "You're only bored if you're boring."
Ah, yes. The very wise Harvey Danger.
This is true in my book. I'm NEVER bored and am baffled when people are. Is there REALLY nothing in this entire marvelous world that interest you to learn or read or do at this moment???
I was bored for what felt like 30 minutes running, the day before Thanksgiving in 2001, while flipping through a magazine and waiting for my then-roommate to get ready for a planned dinner out, and it took me half that time to identity and name the unpleasant emotion i was feeling. "That's it! I'm BORED!" It's that rare.
Now, I may well be boring too, but people who whine about being bored lack imagination and are expecting others to make the fun happen.
Correction to corrections. The air contains moisture and clouds also contain gasses among the droplets and ice so da air was actually correct to begin with. Unfortunately, this makes it a bad Lindell joke because it makes sense.
yes, there is plenty of air between the moisture particles. They ARE full of "da air".
The problem with the joke wasn't whether or not clouds were full of air, the problem was that it was saying the "big fluffy pillows" aren't even though they clearly are.
"Fast, thorough, sharp as a tack..." Don't think I didn't catch that "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" reference, Seth!
Yay! It's my favorite news of the week:
A new episode of Corrections ❣❣❣
"Take it to the grave" is not a phrase that refers to validity. It is a phrase that means to keep something private to yourself. #correctiontocorrections
Probably confused it with "Take that to the bank"?
@@noelrhys1367 Most likely
Now I have the mental image of Henry Winkler asking people to subscribe to his Only Fonz.
And he's such a sweetheart, people would! 😅
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
@@andybaldman It is. I'd be a simp and lose all my money.
Correction: I know it's not your song but Happy Days was set in 1955 to 1965, Stalin died in 1953, if they were using the same years like you said it would make more sense to reference Nikita Khrushchev in the title song rather than someone who was already dead.
So you just Jackaled (a word right?) a Jackal. Does this make you a mega-Jackal?
@@carolz5090 Jackals do feast upon their own here.
@@FriedrichHerschel So you’re saying Corrections is like a Jackal buffet?
Josef Stalin had many stetue. Kruschev, no stetue. Song would be for Russian leader with stetue.
@@ericminch there’re more statues of Lenin than Stalin and every town in Russia have streets named after Lenin. so it makes Lenin more relevant then?

"Fast, thorough, sharp as a tack" ... I see what you did there 🎂 🎶
Wait, what?
@@andybaldman when talking about the Cake correction, Seth referenced lyrics from their song, Short Skirt/Long Jacket
Somebody has to show Seth's family Corrections.. That way we can have Jackals in his house.
This summer was so weird that I still feel a little surprised to have Corrections 2 weeks in a row 💁♀ Edit: I know it's three but I'm not changing it
3 weeks in a row, actually 😝
you think your summer was weird - my winter was worse!
@@tspander I know this is illogical but the first week back didn’t register as a surprise to me bc I’d been looking forward to it, so my mind has them catalogued like emotionally the Labor Day weekend episode is separate from the next two lmao
@@tspander Jackal on jackal correction.
It’s technically fall.
today im glad this uploads at 3:30am
*5.30pm actually.
In reality, at half past midnight
@@rd6203 3:30 EST, where Seth’s at. Aren’t time zones fun?
Sebastian called her Ariel not Ariel. So both are correct.
I kept trying to figure out how "her voice is like a bell" was supposed to to rhyme with "our sister Ariel" until you cleared that up
Disney did not create the story or the character so any mistakes they made are not officially Cannon for how something is supposed to be pronounced... Ariel comes from a very old book written by Hans Christian Andersen. So the way he wanted it said is the correct way.
@@squirrel8185 This would only count for the Danish dub of the film. Cultural translation includes making names speakable for the language it is translated to!
@@squirrel8185 canon.
@@squirrel8185 Normally I'd agree, but Danish is never the correct way to pronounce anything. It's debatable whether anything Danish can be called pronunciation.

These just keep getting better and better
Fun fact: producer Emily Erotas changed her name from Kitty to Karen before settling on Emily.
And she is 100% correct that prolonging the Magic is the best album :D
Lost it over "jacque-ass" 🤣🤣🤣
Bien. Tres bien. 👏👏👏
I think Shoemaker needs to host corrections one day. We deserve his side of the story.
How this isn't getting an Emmy is beyond me!
Rigged voting machines. Mike told me.
Corrections is always hilarious🤣🤣
Just the best one ever! I was crying with laughter. You lot should get together more often and get pissed and record it all... Corrections is like, 'Day drinking with Seth' but in the evening, with the crew. Superb! 🤣😂
Quit your twining. Hahahaha
Gotta say that's one of the most effective bits of advertising I've ever seen. I was intrigued, had a thought about ordering some, and then once I realized the joke I literally went back to watch the whole thing again and laughed my ass off. A+ job Seth
Fun fact, the Mac tonight moonfaced guy was played by Douge Jones, the character actor who played Pan in Pan's labyrinth and the fish person in shape of water.
Doug Jones played just about every lanky, heavily costumed, usually terrifying creature in every movie ever, and also was about the only interesting character on the rather depressing most recent Star Trek reboot, in which he actually got to show off his formidable voice-acting talent.
@@stillhere1425 he was also the clown that Batman blows up with dynamite in Batman returns.
Correction: Doug, no ’e’. 😃
But very interesting fun fact!
@@mikezarzo7483 not quite. Batman takes the dynamite off Thin Clown/Doug Jones and attaches it to the Tattooed Strongman. He survives till the end of the movie, running away when Batman makes it to The Penguin's Lair.
(I watch this movie every year while wrapping Xmas presents. It's my favourite festive tradition.)
One of the best corrections ever. Costco what a total joke.
Beautiful as always. I hope next week's title card reads "Only Correct"
damn this is such a good comment
"Ya gotta relax." Well said.
Definitely have purchased cheese balls at Costco before. And Sebastian pronounces it are-ee-ell. Jackie back!
But not in a bucket. They come in smsll barrels.
I just love Seth.🐨
Obviously, Corrections is Seth's guilty pleasure.🙃
The Russian Happy Days bit is hilarious.
Fast, thorough, sharp as a tack? But does Emily also wear a short skirt and a looooooooong jacket?
Seth, you are criminally underrated and I will twine about it until you get that Emmy.
I am so so so so so so so so thankful they continued making these after the fact, they are simply the best part of my whole week they are the best and how it didn't win an Emmy I do not understand and will not ever understand.

Seth you have space for Costco stuff - you have an attic, and I’m pretty sure it recently got some space freed up.
Where the hell have I been for the last 3 years? Detroit pizza this weekend, baby!
Congrats to the jackal who wrote the "These Days" lyrics, living the dream!
Thank you Seth for making these! Corrections always brings me 100% joy, it is my favorite part of the week.
Correction: That's 'Mac Tonight', not 'Mac The Knife'.. though he is a play on that song.
That's right. One of them is a horrible knife-wielding murderer, and the other is the subject of a classic Jazz standard.
There was an unsuccessful attempt to make him a white supremacist meme, I can only assume because of the vague resemblance to a hood.
Bravo, Michael. They should use that!
"... That's why the impressions are so good..."
Hey Meyers, give us a fall dinner gathering with said host of characters!
He just did the 10 days of Christmas with Kevin Smith last week. He's exhausted

Detroit style pizza is always available at Little Caesar's. And you can make it at home with an oil pan.
I also miss the over twenty minutes of corrections.
After that song, I think Seth can add Andy Samberg to his list of impressions.
I want some Pizza Hut now...unfortunatley I live in rural Germany. Guess I Jacque'd myself with that decision
Seth slipping in Short Skirt/Long Jacket lyrics with no one noticing. You're both wrong though, Comfort Eagle is the best Cake album.
The top item on my bucket list is going to NY and seeing my favorite shows in person. But Seth just told me it’s not fun so I guess that’s out. 😂
He’s probably just trying to discourage jackals 😂
I can't tell if the Pizza Hut plug was real or fake. Dear god Seth is either selling us out or is faking us out. This is so good you should get your family to watch maybe you will get that Emmy you wanted.
