    On makita website you can tick up to 4 devices and compare them. Very useful as makita name few drills same way. DHP 458 I found like 4 or 5

    got DHP453RFE and it's got more than enought power(drilled 20mm holes in steel) , maybe twice a year when I need more I simply use corded drill. We also have five 453 at work for about 4-5 years and they are working hard. All five stil works without any problem. The only problem is, that you should buy a set with 3ah accu, because 1.5ah is not realy enought.

    Excellent review. Really helpful with the summery at the end and placing the drills on the table in spec order.

    Interesting. It would have been nice to know what the difference is in the lettering of the models (DDF or DHP). Considering they were both mentioned several times it is rather a glaring omission. Still a useful guide; thanks.

      DDF is drill driver and DHP is a combi this is the only difference from my research

    I make a constat at makita belgium and was not a pleasant surprise.They want charge for repair 80 percent of a new body or buy a new one .I refuse because i don't trust animore in makita ,,brand"and pay just the constat,and they sent the machine back without some screw incomplete.This is awesome makita.

    i have a question about the dhp480, when i try to drill metal with high speed on gear 2, when it catches something hard the drill stops spinning and makes a slipping noise?

    • @Randaalcz
      @Randaalcz 4 года назад

      fast rotation = weaker output. Switch to gear 1 and you should be good (if the thickness and hardness of the material is in the range of your drill's capacity)

    Still running my 10 year old Makita 8413dw-ex 12v! I keep looking at the 18v range but hate to throw it away as it still works fine. I have the 12v sds drill to, is there a 18v sds drill to compliment the models demonstrated?

    • @its
      @its  11 лет назад

      Hi heavydiesel thats good to hear about your 12v stuff, Makita do make tools that last thats for sure. If you do upgrade to 18v then there is currently 3 SDS+ options, theres the BHR202, the BHR242 (brushless) or the BHR243 (brushless). If you want to know more about these models let me know!

      Makita are doing 3 years for any tool after 2012. Try contacting them, you might be pleasantly surprised, they have a very good customer service and after sales care.

    Jesus is "Brushless Motor" all he can say? - Like to hear him justify the Makita warranty on batteries. Where I am, due to hotter ambient temperatures and the "Locals" general misuse of tools (Makita's words not mine!) we don't even get a 1 hour warranty when we buy their batteries. So, 58 quid for a 5 AH - 18V battery and if it doesn't work out of the box you are stuffed!
