You are definitely the person behind some of the sweetest EVH lessons ever! I can’t thank you enough Robert. Definitely learning this lick tomorrow but I need to slow to a blues tempo. What a diverse lick. ❤️
Thank you kind sir. Love it! I always imagine Eddie smiling while pulling his solo each time I hear this. Would be awesome to see a full Jump solo lesson.. please :)
Love this, Robert!! I've always been a massive Eddie fan, my favourite player ever by a country mile, but learning his stuff has always felt so far beyond anything I can do. I'll definitely be giving this a go. More on this level please 😊😁😁😁👍👍👍
Damn Robert you've changed your teaching style up a little bit 👍 this is by far one of your best beginner classes. 🤘 I started watching you when it look like you were playing in your grandmother's Attic. & You did a unboxing of your first San dimas in the driveway and you hated it lol 🤘😂 preciate the years of time and effort you put into this 👍
It's just a lick but it's a friggin' great lick . . . awesome tutorial !!! The 3rd lick in Eddis's Jump solo is a real double tap crooked finger trap. Thanks from this 68 yr old who's still learning new shit after all these years . . . All the best & stay well Robert.
You can't play it like it's played on the album. NOBODY can, not even Eddie. It's a composite of multiple passes. Eddie got close live, but never did it EXACTLY like the album.
ive played drums for more than 11 years now palying shows then became a dad and now im at home alot..since covid 2020 i got a guitar to try something new...its hard as shit but im having fun and videos like this is highly appreciated by me so thank you for your skills in teaching...peace 🤘
I’d love to see more EVH style lessons, Robert. Even if it was a Patreon type deal. I know these take a lot of time to produce. Keep up the great work.
@@johnwmcmahon The thing with passionate people like me is that i can play the same lick for hours until my girlfriend gives me THE look then i go to my room😂
i’ve always love Page, EVH and hendrix and may because they will play from a da claws but also do things that no one else brain would ever work and they come up with such iconic sound guess why they’re the greats
A really good lesson for you to do would be a George Lynch flatted fifth thing. George can play any scale, and he incorporates that, and it sounds so sinister. It’s pretty tough. 🤘🏽
@@purgatory671 Gotta wait until I am home from work. But my guess is that it will sound crappy and slow for a few days and then I will be able to as long as I keep trying it LOL! I will keep you posted.
If you ever find the time, try doing Unchained, Panama, Runnin with the devil! They’re pretty easy to learn, especially unchained and Panama since they’re similar
Im impressed Sweetwater actually had a guitar in stock to send. I havent been able to find any guitar I want in stock there for 8 months. I gave up on that place.
I learned a lot of Trower back in the day. Very fluid pentatonic sequences...in that way EVH could have been influenced by RT. There's a recording of Van Halen on youtube, at a party, before the record deal, playing Trower. Eddie plays it great! It might be The Fool and Me. Part of the main riff, he does the upward bend on the E string, catches the B string and bends down. Eddie does it EXACTLY the same every time. Perfect. It's mesmerizing.
I took a trashed Ibanez bass and restored it and did that black & yellow job on it. it was always my favorite of his. had to have one, and I play Les Pauls so the bass it was..I still have it. has anyone ever striped a Les' like that??
Hey bro.... always see you wearing Kiss shirts but never hear you talk about Ace's playing or any of the other guitarists. How about a video with some cool Ace licks?
I bought one it cost me 1300 bucks and then when I got home I found out the d-tuna screw was bent and then I figured s*** that's a lot of money to have a issue like that so I brought it back got my money back. $1,300 bent D- tuna screw that's not cool. It came in a beautiful case as well and that's what threw me because it was in a case, some one must have drop it or banged it up again something somehow. rather than keep it and find out the neck was twisted or something else was really wrong with it I brought it back I my money back. I was being at the time I didn't check everything before I bought it now I'm luthier so they can get them by me now🤔😐😀
"It's always Eddie Van Halen time" is a statement I can get behind!
Excellent tidbit of his phrases; I appreciate it, I've been a fan of Van Halen for 47 years and I'm still learning new things about Eddie.R.I.P
Really love these lick lessons. Especially ones designed for beginners. Really helps inspire me to play more.
You are definitely the person behind some of the sweetest EVH lessons ever! I can’t thank you enough Robert. Definitely learning this lick tomorrow but I need to slow to a blues tempo. What a diverse lick. ❤️
Just bought the EVH Bumblebee from Sweetwater in January of this year. Guitar is f**kin smokin. Love it. ROCK ON ROB 🤘 🎸🤘
Thank you kind sir. Love it! I always imagine Eddie smiling while pulling his solo each time I hear this. Would be awesome to see a full Jump solo lesson.. please :)

Love the Eddie lessons!!! The Bumblebee is my favorite of all his guitars. Keep rocking and end it Blusey!!! Thx Robert 🤘🎸

Diese Unterrichtseinheiten sind einfach genial. Tausend Dank Robert. Beste Grüße aus Germany...
That was perfect VH style vibrato. Well done Robert!

Love to see a jump solo tutorial! I’ve learned so many but for some reason never this one, I’ll be getting on this one ASAP lol. Awesome!

@@rickcrotts6673 true, sounds about right. Though the riffs in it all seem really fun.

Can't wait to see how well it gets along with my recliner. And how well them pick up get along with my marshall
That string rake thing is also a great David Gilmore trick. Think the first solo of Comfortably Numb.

The greatest of all times EVH
You're guitar tone on this one is freaking amazing!
I rake into everything… 18th fret of high E, 1st fret of the low E, open C major, my bed, the shower. The list goes on. 🤘🏻😂
Thank you i truly appreciate you taking the time to share the magic of Edward, for a beginner like me it's like a candy store
Get used to this lick because Eddie does it all over the neck in virtually every key…but he plays it so fast it just blurs right by.
@@johnwmcmahon The thing with passionate people like me is that i can play the same lick for hours until my girlfriend gives me THE look then i go to my room😂
Absolutely brilliant thank you for all your videos.
Eddie Bravo is an awesome guitarist. Ya gotta look into it.
i’ve always love Page, EVH and hendrix and may because they will play from a da claws but also do things that no one else brain would ever work and they come up with such iconic sound guess why they’re the greats
Great job! More outside blues based EVH licks please! Long live the king of six strings and ten fingers.
So, not only is Eddie Bravo a master of jujitsu, he plays guitar as good as EVH… 🤔
Who’da thought… 😜
Another excellent video!! 🙏🏼
Apparently lol
thats a great guitar player name.
Raking sounds just like striking a match.........that lights the eternal flame of Rock 'n Roll!
Love those EVH guitars. I have a MIM Wolfgang and it is awesome.

Yet another great lesson.
Learnt this quite quickly thanks man, I made it swing a little and now it's a banging bit of Rockerbilly . Once again Thanks.

Thank you Robert for another great video. 😊
Love this - Thanks!
This will be the only EVH lick I have ever attempted besides the opening chords of You Really Got Me. Let's do this.
Any luck?

‘Slide your hand up’ to rake like that...why has nobody ever told me that before?
Thank you for that, very cool. Took a second, but got it. :)
Killer guitar.
Nice sounding guitar
This is cool man
Hey bro.... always see you wearing Kiss shirts but never hear you talk about Ace's playing or any of the other guitarists. How about a video with some cool Ace licks?

Your wife reminds me of my wife!!! Eddie Bravo!!! Any time I mess up my words or flub my sentence she is there to pounce on it with the quickness!!!😅
tasty little morsel....thanks Robert
The solo on 'ain' talkin bout love' is a great one for beginners to.
