Absolutely awesome bro 😎
More of this rob! badass licks bro 👌🏻 and what a sick tone!! 🤟🏻
🤘
Nice Charvel 🎸
Born 30 years too late. That intro would’ve gone gold!
Sounds alot like Y&T!
Gen z
All young guitar players were born too late.
Enjoy your youth buddy 😅We
Lived through the wild 80s and man, do you get old quick.
You’re the man. Sometimes being the “lead” guitarist in a band can be overly demanding... you play the style we play and you’ve been invaluable as I develop solos and embellishments for our all original hard rock songs... as long as you don’t replace me we’re all good! Much love to you and your family, Mr. Baker...always looking forward to the next video!
Forget the licks! I wanna learn that intro solo.
@@betweenthe8 facts
80s freak here, just bought my dream amp, a JCM800 (SC20H) and its time to learn some more 80s 😂
DIME that thing!!
Rob you really got some classy gear. I have looked at a great deal of lesson videos and I connect the most with you, David Brewster and Uncle Ben Eller (not so much because of his skill level and teaching style but on account of he’s my step dad). But your tone is very appealing to me. Glorious mids.
@@biffslater2456 So you connect with Rob because he's a lower skilled player and not your step dad who is a way better guitar player? Lol
These intros are always so good
Thank you!
@@RobertBakerGuitar put brian may in the thumbnail, so they will all have the same hair (and slash)
Damn right, Get some 80s singers and we Are back
@@tomasfjeld99 lol
Ya for sure!
This kind of stuff will help break me out of my box of usual riffs and patterns
Thanks for these lessons
In these 80s videos, can you also talk about what amps and effects you are using to get the 80s sound? Your tone is always great and I’m always wondering which of your many amps you might be using.
Awesome!! Between these, fretboard decoder, pentatonic road map.. I'm filled to the rafters in rockin' goodness.
Awesome licks! The 80's are the best! 🤟😎🎸
They really are
80s metal is the core of my soul! Thanks for the cool licks now time to practice!
you are such a good guitar player, the tone, the sound, the shred, it's all there, and you should take great pride in your playing.
The Home Sweet Home solo. The fastest part of the solo is just a repeating pattern in one position. You don't even need to move. Plus that solo is just fun
I always liked Jake Lee's solo from Bark At The Moon - for this kinda thing.
Dude, the crackle Charvel mesmerizes me every time.
For lick #1, it helped me use the ring finger for the single G-string note. Then when going back to the B-string, go with the pinky instead of rolling over the ring finger.
Nice licks. I used lick 2 type stuff to develop technique as a kid too. I still give licks like that to students to develop technique.
That 5th Interval lick is actually a Joe Satriani one, who taught it to Steve Vai, who then made it popular by putting it into a tonne of solos!

FINALLY..... Some true 80s... vintage licks
slowed down the video, watched it and figured out the intro riff rhythm! yeah! :)
Jackson JS22 and Fender Mustang coming tomorrow. Cant wait to try these licks!!
Nothing better than new guitar and amp day! Enjoy!
@@zelipapa84 Thanks man🙏
Thats rad!
@@RobertBakerGuitar Reply from the Majesty himself🙏
Your fan from last 6 years, will continue to learn from you
The Vai lick was sick!!! With the 1/5ths Roberto
All these years still my favorite RUclips
Hair metal bliss! 🤘love it man!
THanks buddy :)
You should make a video of nothing but your intro's !
ALWAYS AWESOME !!!
Love the
Crackle !!!!!!
Time to boot up the A/DA MP-1 and the Sonic Maximizer.
YES!
6:04 Immediately thought of bark at the moon
Do some Vandenberg licks and a few of those early 80s bands like Y&T and Krokus
Great licks!! Love that guitar 🔥🤘🏽
Great licks thank you. Just a small info: at 7:36 when you go fast you stop picking the second tripplet ;)
Doing that Steve Vai lick backwards sounds like Adrian Smith when he did his Walking on Glass solo with Dave Murray
There are lots of great youtube guitar players, lots of great teachers too but your content is great! Love your musical taste.. You're definitely my favorite channel.
Love these licks!!! An excuse to grab the Ibanez and get some 80’s metal on!!!
Hi Robert, your licks and riff are bloody awesome, I would just like if you could mention what settings and affects you are using. Many thanks and stay safe and well...
Thanks for the Licks I am an 80's to early 90's guy so these are right up my ally also that is a killer guitar never heard of that brand
That 1st lick is a rhoads lick. 1st solo from Mr crowely, at least very close or similar. That lick gave me hell back when I was still learning. 2nd full song I ever learned after about a year of playing, not perfect but my fingers actually bled learning that song....lol
Favorite Hair Metal Monday so Far!!!!!!!!....Nice work!
I can’t do any of these :( yet anyways but It’s definitely possible watching you break it down ✌🏻
I like this more than the riff videos please could you make more videos of the 80s or 90s licks that would be cool
Love these lessons.
Glad to see your hand is on the mend.
Looks like your hand is getting better anyway!
Glad I checked "My subscriptions" for the first time ever!
I love your videos and this is just what I needed for motivation to start playing again after way too long of a break!
Rock on, bro!
**Also, I was "like" number 420 :D
Love your Channel Robert!! Stay groovy man!
Great Videos, I always learn something new and I love the chill vibe 😎.
Great stuff, Robert! I love Hair Metal Mondays! 🤘🎸

Thanks for making these awsome videos Robert! I feel like these lick videos reeally help me to improve^^
Thanks again maestro 🤘😊 more stuff under the belt
Amazing lick lesson, but dayummm that is a gorgeous Guitar!!
I love that intro riff!!
This is one of the coolest and most practical lessons!
Love the 80's style of rock on guitar and your take and twist on the guitar greats! Keep on doing more 80's!
Good Lesson! Thanks
Good playing & musical creativity should not be slotted into o w era e.g. the 80s. If it's good, great - it's timeless & will also go over great. ❤
Frickin' Hair Metal Monday, Baby!
OH SNAP!
Thanks so much for this video !! Licks are always appreciated !!
Love these kinds of videos. Thanks so much. 👊🙂💯
Ah 80s.. The decade of lightning fast repeating 2 String sweep picking :D
Time to learn these on my new Ibanez!
They sound great
Whoa!! That bread bro, I've been away for awhile. Lol
There’s millions of men shredding this well in their bedrooms which I think is great. There’s also millions of men who put down Noel Gallagher saying he can’t solo. Who would you rather be or who’s skills would you rather have? Would you rather be great singer song writer with good guitar skills and loads of money who can sell out stadiums in minutes...or spend hours learning to shred and loosing out on years of socialising and missing out on life where you will get experiences that help you write songs? People are technically better then ever on guitar but music isn’t improving at all in originality
Soooo smooth that intro 👌👌👌
I just really love that charvel crackle guitar he plays 🤤😻
My all time favorite lick: 3:47
these are some great warm up licks to practice with.....thanks Robert
Great lesson! Thank you!
I use some of those 80's riffs when I write Blues tunes.
Super, super awesome, as always.
Dude, the tabs are gone. Where are the tabs?
Nice guitar man 🎸
So tasty. You don't even need barbecue sauce at all.
Love your likkz videos!
That guitar is fucking beautiful
How about licks from Y&T' s "Girl Crazy, City and "Going Off The Deep End"? A lot of good early 90's stuff went in unnoticed when grunge came along.
🤘🎸 awesome guitar man
killer content, great channel
Very great stuff!! Thanks!!
I'm loving these!
Awesome guitar 😱
Please teach me that opening lick only..its too good ❤️
SOME EMG LOVE FINALLY
A new guitar in every video- at least one! 😂🎸
Good stuff
Sweet licks bro🤘
Monday is less hard with 80's metal !
Seriously do you have an album? If not please record one. I would definitely buy it! 🤘🎸
Happy birthday!
Thanks dude!
Hahaha....I just got through teaching those patterns today in my class
Hair metal Monday!! 🤘🤘🤘
What charvel is that In The intro??
That intro was tastier than a buttery bowl of grits. 😋
Love it, the good ol days :-)
Robert the Magnificent - what kind of sound settings / amp / effects / etc. did you use to come up with the 80s metal awesomeness of the intro?
He usually plays into a computer plugin
