Magical indeed. Most people in my generation took pictures of people and things that they love, put them in a shoebox in their closet, and the pictures get thrown away when they die. You get to film things and the whole world is able to see…as long as the internet is a thing. Thank you for sharing this part of your life.
If most people are like me, there’s no clue about how much production goes into your work, like the editing you mentioned but also performance, direction and filmmaking to name a few. It’s also good to see, even as much as I do not like ads, that you have them now. Thanks again.
You are absolutly right. When you know you know. I love the sound of the creek and those were some good looking feathers I wondered if there were tracks around them or if a hawk caught it in the air. The song and video was cool. Thank you for a great video cant wait to see the paintings. Take care
Hi Em’. I love your enthusiasm for the outdoors. Nothing like a walk on a crispy mid-winter evening. The long shadows and soft hues of the setting sun, the pops of the ice as it expands, the crunch of the snow, and if ya pay attention, the slight change in the air just as the sun dips below the horizon. I can always feel that subtle change in the air. Thanks for the video. Stay well.
Mighty hard to beat a magic hour walk along the creek. I love maple candy. Your coat looks warm with the fur hood. Footprints in the snow reminds me of an ole bluegrass tune. 😎
Winter's beauty at its best! I have those same Muck boots and they keep your feet so dry and warm. The creek is amazing, we had those same 9 degree temps. I live North west of you and we have about the same amount of snow. You truly glow with happiness in that environment.
Hello Emily, what I like about your videos is, that they are always very soothing. Not only is your content beautiful and the scenery breathtaking, I find your voice to be mesmerizing. Have you ever thought about reading for books on tape? You’ve got a very nice voice that I think you could mark-it if you wanted to read books. Please continue your content. I may just be an old widower, but I find what you put out mirrors what I used to love as a young man living in upstate New York among the Catskills.
Bullet For My Vallentine Is the best! They got me back into listening to music after not really being into music for about 30 years. I heard the melody for the very first moment of hearing them. They are The Greatest of there Generation...
Your enthusiasm for nature is infectious 😊 I believe those feathers are from a Northern Flicker. I believe the bigger canine pawprints you found were from a coyote. The smaller ones were from a fox.
Many years ago, I would walk creeks in foothills of North Carolina. Near the town of Morganton. Sometimes I would walk during a snowstorm. It was so quiet and peaceful. I swear you could hear the snow as it fell and hit the ground.
Oh my gosh... oh my gosh... Emily you totally caught us by surprise! I was not expecting a winter creek walk tonight. Absolutely stunning footage. I only want to see the world through your lens. It's so magical. Thanks so much and have a wonderful evening. ps saying a little prayer to the google gods tonight to fix your email ❤
its been so cold at work all day i can't bring myself to go out for a hike but joining you for a virtual hike is a pleasant alternative. glad you found your clip!!
It looks cold, that is a lot of ice, and the cracking noise is cool. I think the little footprints from the birds and and all the critters are neat too. The glare of the sunset on the ice is golden too bad it doesn't last long. Glad you found you clippy thing, I have had to do that same thing before, trying to backtrack to find something I lost. Nice trip!
There's something so calming about snow-it really does seem to absorb all the sound. I managed to capture some amazing sunrise shots of frozen Blue Marsh Lake, especially with those wild patterns on the ice. One of my favorite things is spotting footprints in the snow and trying to guess what animal left them behind. Now, I’m not usually one to believe in Bigfoot, but I saw some footprints near New Bethel Church in Kempton that made me do a double-take. Just uploaded my drone footage from there in the fall.
I'm happy for you that you got a chance to get out today. We did as well. The snow is so frozen that we didn't have to use snowshoes. As long as the sun is shining, I don't care what the temperature is---I gotta get outdoors.
Hey Emily. Thanks for interrupting my regularly scheduled program with something better! I found myself immediately locked in and ready to share your adventure; your beautiful adventure. I always like your narratives along the way. Sorry you had to backtrack to find your phone clip. Thanks for risking hypothermia for your captive audience. Have a great evening. Will check out Tears Don't Fall in a few minutes!
55 Day Till Spring On Our Calendars.....Stay Strong! Grew up in Southern Cal and lived in Oahu so my "outside space" was always with the beach in mind....whether out paddling on my board, body surfing, digging through the sand as the Sun came up to see what treasures were lost from the day before or simply sitting on the sand as the Sun handed over the keys to the Moon while the tide tag with the shoreline. Living in Ohio I appreciate the seasonal changes and my goal every October 1st is to just make it till April, then I know I'll be okay! Hope you fixed yourself a box of necessities for your car...tissues, snacks, caffeine😉...Jug of Water and other goodies! Beautiful Area! MOO From COW-lumbus, Ohio 👋
Another beautiful day in eastern PA! Thanks for sharing your experience and another great tune. I love Bullet for my valentine! “Waking the demons” is another good song from them. If you haven’t already, check out (Fit for a king - When everything means nothing)
now that's some proper winter scenery, very nice. I'm in Huntsville (northern Arkansas) right now staying in an old school motel. I did some hiking around Little Missouri Falls today. I took a bit of video. I'll try to edit something together real quick and upload it. I was chuckling at your runny nose - I had the exact same thing happen to me this morning while filming. That freezing cold air had me sniffling like a crackhead! 😂😂
Friendly folk in Huntsville AR, I'm down there often Ducommun, LaBarge Ave. if you happen to go through Joplin MO, or Parsons KS I might see you sir 😂 safe travels friend of the creekwalker.
The videos of the stark trees and setting sun, with the reflection of it all on the water , would be a great thing to paint , I believe you could create it
One time my dad was walking across a creek in Oregon, that was around calf deep. At about the halfway point he disappeared, and then a millionth of a second later he came flying up out of the water and was back on shore. Apparently there was a hole out there deep enough to completely submerge him. Scaring the crap out of him. Once we all figurd out what happened we had a pretty good laugh about it.. 😂
A long time ago two of my friends crossed a frozen river we lived by it was moving so fast under the ice we all said our mother's would definitely take it out on our butts so glad we didn't lose our souls to that river
How tall are you? I hope that river isn’t any deeper than a few inches, especially hiking alone. You also should carry a long strong stick, in case you do go through the ice you can pull yourself back out. In Wisconsin we carry two wooden handles with a nail pounded in the end of each one and a rope tied between them and hang them around our neck. If you fall in you use them to crawl your way onto the ice. Stay safe please. I’ve been in the outdoors since I was young and love it, but also know to respect the dangers that come along with it. I live in Indiana currently but I’m planning on moving to northern Minnesota or Wisconsin in the near future. I love all four seasons and being outside all the time. It gets down to -50 temperature, not windchill, in the BWCA in Minnesota. We have Moose, mountain lion, wolves, bobcats and a lot more wildlife. Peace ✌️
I have gloves like that except black. Recently I was on a walk and one fell out of my pocket and I had to retrace my walk. Losing one of those glove would have negatively impacted my life as I likely would not have bought another pair for awhile. Here is a song you might like. It's not as hard as that Bullet for my Valentine song(that one sounds like it's got metal(and nu metal) influences while this one is more towards alt rock). Brad - Secret Girl
Ive talked to my co-workers about going out hiking in the cold and they all think im crazy 😂 I love it though! Less people and its quiet! I need to get my head into gear and get out more before it gets warm and everyone starts going again. Tears dont faaaaallll, throwback to when the internet was at its peak! Oh! Pretty feathers! Those have got to be Flicker feathers. Just checked to confirm, yes they are indeed. I wonder what got it. I would guess either a Coopers Hawk or the local Fox. There should not be any baby foxes around now. They are suppose to be born between March and May so any young foxes would be adolescent I think.
Great videos. Not sure where you are located. I garuntee you will love George W . CHILDS park in Dingmans ,pa. Research it ! 3 different waterfalls there. My opinion, best in PA.

It's pretty neat that some of the leaves on the tree are still on the trees
That is called Marcescence. Marcescence is when a plant keeps its dead leaves through winter and into spring, instead of shedding them in the fall
