I really like how thor legitimately was trying to cheer him up the only way he knows, as a viking god. But when he realizes not the right approach he quickly adjusts the tone. What a friend dude
My guess is she's remembering Thor the Dark World, where Thor tried to call his hammer but it kept whooshing through portal after portal on his way to him.
In the section where Wanda has caused the Avengers to have visions, we see a glimpse of Black Widow's story. I think what was supposed to happen at the time is we were going to get a Black Widow movie, and that was a preview of it, but Scarlett got pregnant, they missed their shooting and release window, and that ended up pushing the Black Widow movie till after Endgame. BTW, soooo much happens in the Ultron movie, I wonder if it would have had a bigger impact if it was split into 2 movies.
"I had strings But now I'm free There are no strings on me" line that Ultron mutters is him quoting a song from Pinocchio. The even play a brief clip of Pinocchio singing the song when Ultron is first being created.
And you might remember from CA:TFA, Cap can't get drunk due to his enhanced metabolism. Although Thor's Asgardian Ale might be strong enough to overcome that. But probably not. If it could get Cap drunk, it probably would have killed Stan.

He’s Captain America. That’s his character. To never give up. What y’all see as “happy go lucky” is pure determination and will. Despite the odds, he still gon give it his all. You gotta have a guy like that on ya team esp as the leader.
This will always be my favorite because I love Tony's snark and we get twice as much with Ultron. Also because I ADORE Paul Bettany. I've never read the Marvel comics, but I really enjoy his character in the MCU. It's a nice inclusion of someone more introspective and well-spoken. He makes me swoon every time he talks. 😍🥰
A few clarifications: The Hulk was leaving because he felt that the people on Earth hated him and would never accept him. Also, Steve's shield doesn't come back in the other movies because of the magnet thingy (which is never seen again after this one), but just because of the sci-fi physics of Vibranuim and Steve's sheer skill with it. Yeah, it's not realistic, but hey, these are superhero movies.
3:01 its not how cap gets his shield to come back to him, its because he is a super soldier and and gives hime enhanced things like strenght, and speed but he can also calculate really fast how hi is suppose to trought the shield and how much power he needs to use so the shield comes back to him
It's crazy enough they decided to add Vision to the MCU, but that they decided to give him all his comic book powers COMPLETELY without explanation is so ballsy. And it worked, people just went with it.
God I love this movie ! I didn't understand the hate it got when it came out. I get there is a lot going on, a lot to take in, so it definitely gets better on subsequent viewings. I really liked Wanda, and I loved Ultron, James Spader did a fantastic job.
This movie took a lot of criticism because of how it handled Ultron's character and attempted to mix darkness with humor, with uneven results. I've always liked it, though, for the way it explores the psyches of the characters, brings Hawkeye to the front, and introduces Wanda to the MCU. I'm happy that people are stating to appreciate it... it's aged incredibly well because, on re-watch, people can see just how much of Phase 3 was set up here, and some of Phase 4 so far. Based on some of the comment I've read, I think some of the younger marvel fans don't realize how important Hawkeye has been to the Avengers mythos, and they think he's a second-rate character. To be honest, he's one of the longest-standing characters (since 1965). He led both the West Coast team and the Thunderbolts, if not more (I haven't read the comics in years). His strength was never "superpowers." It was always in his genius as a tactician and his ability rally people into a cohesive team.
Yea my biggest problem has always been ultron just wasn’t like ultron. Also speaking long standing important avengers him having no connection to Hank is crazy
@@Cream-2128 I agree... Ultron was too humanized in the film. Ultron has always been a terrifying villain because he has no sense of humor at all. He has no fear and doesn't do things by accident. He's all cold metal, practicality, and slaughter. Although I liked this movie from the start, I was afraid that Thanos was going to turned into a wise-cracking villain-of-the-month too. Rico and Monica made me realize something, though: this version of Ultron was supposed to be a dark mirror of Tony, and in that aspect, it kind of works. Also, the absence of Hank has always bugged me... his arc in West Coast back in the '80's is still one of my all-time favorites, and historically, he broke some serious comic book story barriers on the original team. The Michael Douglas rendition is okay, but I do miss him as an Avenger. I guess there wasn't really any room for him on-screen.
I adore you two and your relationship lol.. been following since Harry Potter and the true friendship and love between you two is so palpable, and is very sweet to watch. Also, the reactions are super entertaining and thoughtful and endearing :) ohhh Monica + the stress that is to come hahah.. my heart is with you!
I remember at the beginning of the journey when we would go a month or more between film reactions. In fact, didn't Monica roll her eyes and sigh at the fact that there were 23 films to watch? Fast forward to now and we aren't making it a week. I think our girl is hooked. Nice job, Rico. Way to play the long game. ;-)
The scene with the Hulk going on a rampage was filmed in my country, in the city I live in which is Johannesburg, and honestly, it was really cool seeing it in an action sequence like this film! Also, this probably one of the best reactions to Age of Ultron. Every little hint at a joke or reference got me hyped!
It sort of pisses me off that they cut the Thor scenes. Essentially, Thor sees something in his Wanda-induces vision that we only get a fraction of a second view of, so Thor goes to an ancient Nordic holy site to ask The Fates for guidance. This leads to Thor understanding the basics of the Infinity Stones, and that a massive cataclysm is coming. He also sees the the character the Vision is important in the grander scheme of things. So, imagine a 30 second scene in between Thor leaving Clint's safe house and Thor bringing the Vision to life, that actually explained his sudden change of character, and that's it. He grabs Erik Selvig to track down a hidden holy site, and learns more about Heimdall's cryptic message about "bringing doom to us all" and "being a destroyer".
3:04 No that's not how the shield comes back to cap...he kinda calculate and throw it in a way so that it collides and comes back. Only in this movie, he has this magnetic thing to call back the shield. Don't really know why they did that in this movie.
I don't think Banner got Scarlet-ed. He was tricked into thinking it was a code green (likely by Ultron messing with communications) and went on a rampage. What he saw that affected him negatively was when he was starting to calm down after being dropped through that skyscraper. He saw the look of terror on the faces of those he hurt and destruction that he caused as Hulk. He's probably seen this before too, and that kind of thing would definitely negatively affect you mentally.
This movie got so much crap when it released; but James Spader who voiced Ultron really made the part for what it was; he played it sometimes as a toddler/teen. Emotional outbursts, short sighted, narrow minded singular goal. The “I once had strings but now I’m free, there are no strings on me” was from Pinocchio, who was a puppet. Who eventually became a real boy I love what they do with Wanda and Pietro (Magnetos kids, btw) and that Disney started integrating “Enhanced” persons” aka Mutants, but I think Universal still owned part of Marvel when Disney first took over so they couldn’t use the terms “Quicksilver”, “Mutants”, or “Scarlet Witch” There are some in Xmen First Class too. But thems there spoilers. When Wanda does the red mind stuff to Natasha it shows In the flashbacks there is a man standing behind her in one of those. He’s wearing a dark red henly, with darkish hair built just like Bucky. They never say it, you never see his face, but I think it was intentional. A storyline is that Bucky worked w the Red Room and trained Natasha when he was still Winter Soldier. Assassin/Spy/Master Manipulator. Black Widow is a mantle, and many have come before her. And after her. Fun fact. LOVE your reactions!!!
The movie got a lot of crap because ultron was awful and the fact they had Tony create him. It’s not the worst though it was great to see vision, quicksilver and Scarlett witch.
They hadn’t introduced Hank yet, so how could he create Ultron. It makes also for a cool plot point making Tony create Ultron. It just fits his character.
@@Cream-2128 dunno if it was “bad” it was just different. I wasn’t an Avengers person per say (I’m an Xmen girl, myself-and hated what they did to the movies for the shit show they turned it into; they mutilated (hahahah) the Dark Phoenix storyline) but most lore based movies take liberties with the original story line to make it fit with the story they are trying to tell. But I enjoyed it, personally.
Dont care what the talking heads say....i still MUCH prefer this film to the first one. Better villain. More interesting character dynamics. Better action set pieces. I just overall enjoyed it much more. I suspect its less favorable reception will begin to crack and fade as time passes, and AoU will get the following it deserves
I finally found someone who like age of ultron more than the first one. Everyone I have met has called me tasteless for liking aou more. I guess people have more sentiments related to the first one...but I prefer aou MUCH more... One more thing for me is that I can rewatch age of ultron an infinite amount of times but the first avengers doesnt have that replay value for me and I repeat FOR ME...
People probably prefer the first one because of nostalgia or something, I don't know. Maybe because it was the first movie of its kind and it was simply mind-blowing? But yeah AoU is definitely a better film for me. The only thing that I didn't like about it is the actual final battle between the Avengers and Ultron, I always felt it was lacking something
I think people are appreciating this movie for what it is now that some time has passed after not living up to expectations, and I'm glad. It has more of that same great cast chemistry, snappy dialogue (although if I think Joss Whedon might've gone a bit too far with the quips a few times), some good action sequences, and even if all of it doesn't work, there is a legitimate attempt to further explore these characters and kinda put them through the wringer. It doesn't just try to rehash what worked in the first movie. Also, he falls short of being a great villain to me, but I like Ultron. James Spader kills it in the role. And it is one of the most important movies in the MCU, continuity-wise. It's flawed, and it is my least favorite Avengers movie, but I appreciate it a lot.
Idk why it took me this long to notice the baby's name it says on the shirt at the end is "Nathaniel Pietro Barton"... Awesome. even after all these years
In this movie Marvel had to choose which one of the twins to keep because Fox wasn't allowing them to use both and make them an avenger and let them do teamups. So they killed off Pietro because Scarlet Witch had more story possibilities
If the mcu follows the same background as the comics for clint, it would make Total sense for him to think Mjolnir is a trick. He grew up (or in his teens) living in a circus. He has seen tricks looking like this up close. Behind the scenes seeing how they work.
Have you two ever hear James Spader's real voice? He's played a lot of past roles including on the Netflix series, "Blacklist" where he sounds very cold and robotic..the perfect voice to do Ultron.
Speedy = Quicksilver Wanda, his sister and him are both the offsprings of Magneto, ofc MCU changed that as well as they did not own the rights to mutant characters at the time
Cap's sheild is made from the rarest metal found on earth, vibranium. it stores kinetic enegry so thats why it bounces and comes back. also in the first avengers movie when thor hit the sheild with his hammer it released all that energy from the impact and blew them all away. the device in this that cap has is something tony made instead of the strap handles.

Among the other AIs, there’s one named Tadashi, along with Jocasta, E.D.I.T.H., V.I.R.G.I.L., and F.R.I.D.A.Y.
Absolutely loved watching this movie again with other people I get emotional everytime especially when the people involved are actually invested in the story as well. It's like reliving watching it for the first time vicariously through someone else
When you guys reach phase 4, don't sleep on the series. I'm so excited to see your reaction.
this is the only movie where the avengers are an actual team from beginning to end. in the first one they had to be formed, in infinity war they were split up, and in endgame they had to come back together. in this one they’re together from the moment the film starts till the end. even with tony “retiring” at the end, he owns the freaking compound lmao he’s still technically part of the team even if he didn’t plan to be boots on the ground again. miss the og 6 😢
46:35 the in sync "😬" and look to the side when wanda asked "where do you think he gets that?" is gold kjflksdflksdf
“She is dangerous”
*me grinning evilly in WV* “Just wait” 😈
i love how you finally fell in love with hawkeye throughout this movie
ever since i first saw the first avengers movie Clint used to be my favorite (till this day i don't exactly know why) and i'm glad you're finally starting to like him as well
"I had strings, but now I'm free." Man, that gave me goosebumps.
Loved the conversation between ultron and vision at the end. And Hawkeye named his son Nathaniel pietro after black widow and quicksilver who was the maximoff who died
I really like how thor legitimately was trying to cheer him up the only way he knows, as a viking god. But when he realizes not the right approach he quickly adjusts the tone. What a friend dude
steve really hand eye coordination+geometery+force is how steve does the shield thing
arguable one of my favorite marvel movies. James Spader as Ultron was perfect. his acting is jus top tier
"I had strings
But now I'm free
There are no strings on me" line that Ultron mutters is him quoting a song from Pinocchio. The even play a brief clip of Pinocchio singing the song when Ultron is first being created.
1:01:13 best part of the whole movie when tony says
“Together” and then hulk lets out a big haka-like scream
Thor wasn’t spiking drinks lol he was trying to get Cap drunk haha. Stan was just trying to prove he could roll 😉
And you might remember from CA:TFA, Cap can't get drunk due to his enhanced metabolism. Although Thor's Asgardian Ale might be strong enough to overcome that.
But probably not. If it could get Cap drunk, it probably would have killed Stan.
Ultron is one of my favorite villains and his portrayal in this film was phenomenal. So many underlying themes in this film
Age of Ultron was always my favourite Avengers movie, mostly because of Ultron and the twins.
Friday is another AI like Jarvis and she replaces Tony’s AI as Jarvis is now fully aware as Vision. Tony doesn’t feel right using Jarvis as an AI anymore.
Some people put this movie low on the list but it's my favorite. I love Wanda
The baby's name is Nathaniel Pietro Barton
Nathaniel from Natasha
Pietro from Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver ( Wanda's twin brother)
Love Pietro🥰🥰🥰
I love the fact that she keeps using the word vision until he appears
This movie aged really well. Still cheesy at some parts but it got better with time.
Movie was ass. Had it’s good parts/scenes but straight ass overall. But stil watchable and entertaining at times. But still ass
Yup, this movie is set up so many thing in future Phase 3,
@@randompeople465 Phase 3 was golden. That was the time where I switched from being a hardcore DC fan to actually paying more attention to Marvel movies. It wasn’t until after Infinity war came out to were I official got off that trash ass DC fandom
@@timeout2602 how can a movie be entertaining and make u feel good has emotional moments, great character evolution and be ass. Does your brain work i guess not.
@@leecameron9226 Haha
“Elevators not worthy”🤣🤣
The both of you are genuinely just so wholesome it makes me smile every time I watch you guys
Fun fact: Cap could have lifted Mjolnir at the party, but chose not when he realized it, because he didn't want to steal Thor's thunder.
I love James Spaders’ (Ultron) performance. So witty but also has a cold and terrifying side.
I agree with Natasha. She IS a monster. She assassinated children.
Yes, she's done a lot of good since she joined SHIELD. But like she's said herself, the red can never be removed from her ledger.
I love how Monica keeps saying "Vision" without yet knowing how relevant that word will be. 😀
Without Jarvis, Tony uses another AI named Friday. Sounds like an Irish woman.
Can't believe you were able to put out a 1+ hour video! Most reactors just use the 20 minutes and be done with it. My compliments 👏🏻
*People gave this movie crap. But it actually pretty good. James Spader as Ultron was perfectly casted*
I just recently found you guys and am binging all your vids from HP to Avatar to Marvel and I am HERE for it. Genuinely obsessed with both of yous.
Thank you to the pair of you, it's always a joy watching these reactions!
I remember at the beginning of the journey when we would go a month or more between film reactions. In fact, didn't Monica roll her eyes and sigh at the fact that there were 23 films to watch? Fast forward to now and we aren't making it a week. I think our girl is hooked. Nice job, Rico. Way to play the long game. ;-)
40:29
Monica’s reaction is gold. My
Girl really digging Captain’s superhumanity. 🔥
The scene with the Hulk going on a rampage was filmed in my country, in the city I live in which is Johannesburg, and honestly, it was really cool seeing it in an action sequence like this film! Also, this probably one of the best reactions to Age of Ultron. Every little hint at a joke or reference got me hyped!
came here to comment the exact same thing. 🔥
Holy crap! I never noticed Hawkeye named his kid Nathaniel (my name btw) Nathaniel PIETRO Barton.
That's cool
it's refreshing seeing ppl who actually appreciate hawkeye
3:04 No that's not how the shield comes back to cap...he kinda calculate and throw it in a way so that it collides and comes back. Only in this movie, he has this magnetic thing to call back the shield. Don't really know why they did that in this movie.
To make new variations of toys to sell.
The real question that everybody asks even now - What did Banner saw??
I don't think Banner got Scarlet-ed. He was tricked into thinking it was a code green (likely by Ultron messing with communications) and went on a rampage. What he saw that affected him negatively was when he was starting to calm down after being dropped through that skyscraper. He saw the look of terror on the faces of those he hurt and destruction that he caused as Hulk. He's probably seen this before too, and that kind of thing would definitely negatively affect you mentally.
@@HazySkies given how he seems to have an extra special rage for Wanda over Pietro or Ultron makes me think otherwise.
@@4Tom4lepus4 Yeah!
Can we just say James spader voicing ultron is the absolute best cus he’s voice is calm and menacing at the same time
And thus, the Vision was born
what's crazy is when is this movie came out it was not well recieved but MY GOD it Aged well! By the way I enjoyed it when it first came out
This movie got so much crap when it released; but James Spader who voiced Ultron really made the part for what it was; he played it sometimes as a toddler/teen. Emotional outbursts, short sighted, narrow minded singular goal. The “I once had strings but now I’m free, there are no strings on me” was from Pinocchio, who was a puppet. Who eventually became a real boy
I love what they do with Wanda and Pietro (Magnetos kids, btw) and that Disney started integrating “Enhanced” persons” aka Mutants, but I think Universal still owned part of Marvel when Disney first took over so they couldn’t use the terms “Quicksilver”, “Mutants”, or “Scarlet Witch” There are some in Xmen First Class too.
@@dm_dude they literally bring in Hank Pym the same year. It also doesn’t fit Tony to create ultron at all. Which is why we had such a bad ultron.
@@Cream-2128 ultron is a fantastic villain.
I also wasn’t too into this movie when it first released but like it way more now
Good to see you guys getting emotionally connected to the characters. Trust me so many great things are going to happen keep watching.
I love your reactions!!! And Monica was so funny reacting to Chris Evans in his shirt 🙌🏼🙌🏼
This movie gets better the more times you watch it especially after you made it through phase the Infinity Saga.
aside from Cap & Black Panther (Chadwick is from my hometown, Anderson South Carolina), Vision might be my favorite character. you’ll see why later
After the release of Infinity War.. people had second thoughts of this one.
Awesome. even after all these years
True fact Quicksilver and Scarlet Witches real father is Magneto 🧲 the main villain of the X-Men
Yeah, Hawkeye really was great in this movie, I love him
One of the good things about Disney owning Marvel is that the Pinocchio song could be used without any copyright infringement.
31:42 wait what this scene is in South Africa, my country. I wasn't expecting this in a marvel movie 😲😁🇿🇦
52:35Imagine Monica and rico's reaction after Cap lifts mjiolnir in Endgame 😎😉
Pietro Maximoff, in the comic books also known as Quicksilver. Barton named his kid after him. Nathaniel Pietro Barton.
56:34 Stark must hate being the smart one on the team. Imagine someone asking you to figure out how to get a city down safely
Speedy = Quicksilver
Wanda, his sister and him are both the offsprings of Magneto, ofc MCU changed that as well as they did not own the rights to mutant characters at the time
Sweet! I totally wasn’t expecting you guys to drop anything for another week or two.
Pauls wife actually voices one of the newer AIs
I just realized. Ultron programmed the quinjet to go into space since he was locked out of the internet and could only flee to space.
I JUST REALISED
1:08:13
Clint gave his son Pietro for a middle name
After the guy who saved him from the bullets
Can't wait for their reactions to Wanda's growing powers🔥
