if you look at it as the inexpensive answer to the hybrid supercar top 3 (laferrari, p1, 918) then it does the exact same thing as the original car. Offering 80% of the performance at 30% of the price all while being more reliable and livable than the european offerings. People who think the soul of the car was lost forgot what that soul was.
I’d would of liked the Prelude come back then this. It’s presents isn’t as exotic and good looking as the original one. Still Remember that first generation as a kid.
I wish they would have just simply done a modern take on the old design, kind of like what the Aventador looks like in relation to the Diablo. This looks like a Civic dressing up as a Centenario for Halloween.
The Acura NSX is affordable, compared other hybrids that hit under 3 seconds 0-60. You got to give Honda credit to being the original supercar from Japan that made exotic car companies go back to the drawing board. The NSX put them all to shame on reliability and technology. The GTR isn't a hybrid yet but win it does comes out with the redesigned R36, then you better expect the price will be up there, or if not higher.
What a giant sales flop it is. Sold 269 last year. Only 1 sold in Canada in January. Maybe the price going up 250% from the original 60k NSX is too much for people to spend. The Viper only went up 33% from 92 to 16.
Beautiful car. 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. Phew !! That sure would get my old heart jumping. Guessing 0-100 would be less than 6 seconds. Going through these classic MW reviews, seems not too long ago a 6 second 0-60 would be labeled as "very impressive" ! Remember the Wolf in Pulp Fiction ( Harvey Keitel) zipped off in one of these after "cleaning up" a little situation!! PEACE from Philadelphia
Such a shame these aren't selling. I wonder if these are going to turn into the super sought after classics the original NSX's became after 25 years or so
Too much for not enough. A Shelby gt500 is less than this . Or a junk ass hell cat if you wanna go that route. I like it as a touring car. A manual option would have done the sales wonders. Noone cars if automatic is faster they want that true engagement with the vehicle.
I wonder why people are complaining about the tech in the NSX? Are these the same people that says the GT-R is boring because it almost drive for you with all the ludicrous tech inside it?? I call BS...
Tomorrow or the day after? You know because they are so easy to find and most of all CHEAP! dude are you serious? I would kill to get my hands on a NSX.. Best I can do is drive an S2K.
Would of worked and would of been a worthy successor if they would of ditched the electric motors and increased the horsepower to 600hp while decreasing the weight below 3300lbs. Spare me the B.S. of electric motors. Why? Longevity and reliability. Sorry, solid state batteries haven't reached that level of technology. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics still stands.
The fully dressed Nismo will cost you $150,000 +,and this is a way more civilized car than a GTR.don't get me wrong I like the GTR.but this is a more all round hi tech Car.the GTR is for going fast.this is smooth, quiet. Fuel efficient, and comfortable. The GTR not so much.
I'm not hating but it was designed at their design studio in California not in Japan like the original. By a first time designer of sports cars.... The first generation was unique if not jaw dropping in every aspect...... This one looks common. I can't believe Japan approved it
Who asked for all this "tech"? Not many, I would actually say very little. The old NSX was simple, light weight, and naturally aspirated.Though not easily attainable, the higher trim is approaching entry Ferrari prices. Similar to the recent GTR, it use to cost around $60K(american) and now its about double that. I would say most would be happy with an aluminum bodied, 8500-9000rpm NA V6, around $100K. I'm no expert but w/o all the "tech", the price could be dropped significantly. Watch the NSX get to Ferrari prices, and then only the .0001% of the world will be able to enjoy this car.
The new NSX is a beautiful car designed with the track as well as the streets in mind, but with a starting price of $157,800 which can quickly balloon to around $200,000 with options only the most loyal of Honda/Acura fans are going to buy it. Consider this; for the cost of a base NSX you could buy not one but two base Corvette ZO6s, a car that in terms of performance is pretty much on par with if, not better than the NSX.
I currently own 2 original NSX's & no matter how hard I try to like this new version of the car, I just can't... I think it looks like a super-silly cartoon version of the original... The designers really failed... It is shameful that Honda allowed the designers to fudge-up the look of such a classic, beautiful car... Oh, & by they way, a fully stocked version is about $217K, so you would think that you would get a hand-built in Japan version with at least an 8-10 cylinder end-product(?)... No, still 6 cylinder & made in Ohio... Really, Honda???... Can we all say "RIP-OFF"?... Oh & by they way, it is super-ugly... Not a chance I will ever buy one.. Sorry, Honda!

if you look at it as the inexpensive answer to the hybrid supercar top 3 (laferrari, p1, 918) then it does the exact same thing as the original car. Offering 80% of the performance at 30% of the price all while being more reliable and livable than the european offerings. People who think the soul of the car was lost forgot what that soul was.
no 1/4 mile time ?? I saw 0-60 @ 4:33 but no 1/4 ???
They have stopped production in Japan of the NSX...☹️
I’d would of liked the Prelude come back then this. It’s presents isn’t as exotic and good looking as the original one. Still Remember that first generation as a kid.
Does anyone has any idea why are Super cars 71.3 in wide or better less history?
I wish they would have just simply done a modern take on the old design, kind of like what the Aventador looks like in relation to the Diablo. This looks like a Civic dressing up as a Centenario for Halloween.
My dream sports car only because of its hybrid ability.
And that still failed so tell us more about how you think this is a sales flop when Vipers themselves are all discontinued.
Now the Subaru Outback Wilderness can do 0-60 in under 6 seconds.
@@dannytse8767 Jeez! Never would have guessed that. An Outback !!
Thermal ca. speed club?
Such a shame these aren't selling. I wonder if these are going to turn into the super sought after classics the original NSX's became after 25 years or so
Too much for not enough. A Shelby gt500 is less than this . Or a junk ass hell cat if you wanna go that route. I like it as a touring car. A manual option would have done the sales wonders. Noone cars if automatic is faster they want that true engagement with the vehicle.
Cares****
My bet is they shoot up in value as soon as the PMC is done selling their allotment of NSX Type S’s.
I wonder why people are complaining about the tech in the NSX? Are these the same people that says the GT-R is boring because it almost drive for you with all the ludicrous tech inside it?? I call BS...
Try driving an old nsx then drive this, you'll eat your own words
Tomorrow or the day after? You know because they are so easy to find and most of all CHEAP! dude are you serious? I would kill to get my hands on a NSX.. Best I can do is drive an S2K.
Driven both. I can tell you they're appreciable in their own ways. This NSX is fantastic to live on a daily basis.
Com Truise try driving a new one, you will eat your own words lol
Would of worked and would of been a worthy successor if they would of ditched the electric motors and increased the horsepower to 600hp while decreasing the weight below 3300lbs. Spare me the B.S. of electric motors. Why? Longevity and reliability. Sorry, solid state batteries haven't reached that level of technology. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics still stands.
Honda NSX had sex with an Audi R8!
MAGNETIC
I think john Davis has a drink or two before he does these reviews
Nah....I think a warm glass of milk.
Very nice. But if should of been a realistic affordable price, like the GTR.
+Lbolting005 Yea and it competes with cars costing over 200 grand.
2017 starts from 110k USD......
Where did they find this presenter - back in the 1990? The way he talks is hillarious!
Thats the dude that created Motorweek back in 1981, he's been the presenter since day 1.
37yrs of that droning weird voice
I'm not hating but it was designed at their design studio in California not in Japan like the original. By a first time designer of sports cars.... The first generation was unique if not jaw dropping in every aspect...... This one looks common. I can't believe Japan approved it
Imagine the first gen nsx with this new setup woef 2 secs 0-60 hehe
Am I the only one who likes how this looks?
Who asked for all this "tech"? Not many, I would actually say very little. The old NSX was simple, light weight, and naturally aspirated.Though not easily attainable, the higher trim is approaching entry Ferrari prices. Similar to the recent GTR, it use to cost around $60K(american) and now its about double that. I would say most would be happy with an aluminum bodied, 8500-9000rpm NA V6, around $100K. I'm no expert but w/o all the "tech", the price could be dropped significantly. Watch the NSX get to Ferrari prices, and then only the .0001% of the world will be able to enjoy this car.
really going to miss John Davis when he retires
I still like the old nsx interior better
Waiting for the Poor boys to say "Its too expensive. Its just a Honda."
rocket like :-)
bmw 8 series - honda nsx, bmw i8 - honda nsx
Nice.
It also looks cooler.
Quickly balloon? Have you optioned up this car? The options do not change performance. Yes you can buy a Z06. That still doesn't compare to the NSX.
Long list of cars in that price range to buy over this including the R8, Huracan, various McLarens, top Porsches etc etc, I don't know.
A more direct competitor to this NSX is the BMW i8. Those other cars are of a different class and philosophy it's like comparing apples to oranges.
It’s built in the US ? Smh
Do you get to drive? or does it drive itself?
wow 2.9 0-60 gtr stats
Sorry, Honda!
do you think he talks like that outside of these videos ?
The X in NSX actually stands for unknown dimensions
out priced its original fan base.
Not really.
IDK
The original NSX and the C8 corvette (and some Lambos) look ridiculous with their stretched rear-ends. Just to make them "mid-engine"
John still got it lol
He just compared the nsx to a Honda pilot on comfortably....wtf
Sick!
I like it,s luxury car styling, to which I think is very classy, but the drive train leaves a lot to be desired.
Sorry to say this, but those tail lights remind me so much of Dodge styling.
Steep 😷🏁💸
nice
