Good ol' Charlie Drake, bless his heart. I grew up watching him in The Worker on the telly, goodness, back in the B&W days. I always get a tear and lump in my throat watching him again. Loved him SO much. We don't see such wonderful adlib these days either eh? Thanks for the very fond memories and for making my cheeks hurt with laughter at this clip, now I'm off to watch the full thing again. Can never get tired of watching!

The way you made it appear as though it was half ad-libbed was genius and made it twice as funny. Brilliant stuff, Jim!

Still so funny! I was lucky to have met Charlie Drake on Bournemouth pier back in the middle 90s. I was a chef in the restaurant behind the theatre and was outside having a smoke when he came out for some air. I can't remember what show he was doing though. But a lovely bloke.

Brilliantly written Jim, I spotted a few Jokes slipped in that lots of people miss on reaction videos, also spotted Charlie miss the cockapoo line near the end and the plod on remark to the policeman,
    Stay safe Jim.

I picked up some clients and visited the show in Oxford, the women sat in their fineries i did fear they didnt know what they were letting themselves in for. Well the Posh women were soon joining in with the fun and had a whale of a time, great memories of the show :-)

I've always wondered if there's a scene missing from the video. When Jim lifts the curtain, there's a set with a bed In it that doesn't appear anywhere in the show.

"hello my darlin's" haven't seen this In years. Charlie like Eric Morecambe, Freddie Starr, John Cleese or the two Ronnie's had comedy timing even when they f'cked their lines up. You Jim always made me laugh even for a tory lol! Is it me or have all the "alternative" comedians all lame, limp wristed compared to the radical comics like yourself and Alex Belfield who have the balls to be un-PC. I don't care anymore. I am a socialist (without a party) but Jim you're still a working class bloke who's done more for people than the labour or tory parties.
Sorry for the long post, me duck.

I never understood the "I'm a canoe" bit. I'm surprised it was scripted, to me it seemed like something he was doing out of the blue due to drunkeness and/or senility.
