I love lifting and bodybuilding. It’s literally you vs you. You decide who wins, you decide what you eat, you decide your work ethic. Lifting literally cured my depression. It gave me something to do and DEDICATE my time to. Real talk lifting is what saved my life and I dedicate myself to it also. Crazy what picking up heavy shit can do.

I have 2 bulging disks in my back I got them when I was 15 I’m 16 now. I didn’t let it hold be back before I was squatting 225 then I hurt my back I didn’t stop and hurt it again the 2nd time. I got it checked out and has 2 bulging disk. The first workout back I was squatting 75 with horrible pain. I kept going to PT kept pushing. Now I’m at my strongest squatting 315 at 16. The doctors don’t know what they are talking about. I no longer have much back pain at all. I was told I would never be able to get back under the bar or play my one love football. But I’ve proved everyone wrong. If you have drive anything is possible

Way to go Max ! You are on the road to success. This video is motivating me ! I powerlifted for over 40 years (ages 18-58) I am now 66 and trying to get my lifts back up. my back and knees do hurt and my bench recently took a dive so your video came at the right time. I've done it all 132 lb to 275 lb weight div's ay 5'7" AAU master World Champ . and many records. I have written many articles but this vid tops them all. Keep it up Max!!! BTW the docs wanted to operate on my back once and I told them I did not have time for their silly operation as I was training for my next worlds.

I'm 20, and I've grew up doing similar things to you, and not gonna lie, when I came into contact with your 5x5 Bench Transformation video, that just inspired me to do great things. This past semester I've been dealing with a huge breakup with my first girlfriend, and so I committed to lifting. I saw some results, and I can only keep aiming for a body that I can be proud of. Truly, Max you inspire me, and you've given me hope man. It's a struggle for us skinny guys, but you just showed that anything is possible with determination and consistency.

Maybe a year ago i wrote a comment to some of your videos, that in your lifting attitude i've seen myself, when i was younger and that i wont be ever able to lift again and that i would end my life. One year after immune system failure, torn rotator cuff and cracked knee here i am about to squat 340lbs, bench 245 and deadlift 405, i've been watching you for the entire time and your progress motivated me to never give up, even tho i wasnt even able to do a bodyweight squat. Thank you for your videos, they are the entertainment someone like me needs.

So much more respect for you now that you shared the story with us. And even more so because it's so relatable. A year ago my self worth, confidence, and body weight were all very low, but lifting forces you to take a step closer to your best self which is the coolest thing about it. A growing muscle doesn't care what negative thoughts you have they just do their thing. From body to mind, lifting changed my life as well! Wish you the best and good luck on the rest of your journey!

I've kinda same story. Playing football at the age of 16 and being very skinny. Suddenly started feeling pain on my lower back, thought it was nothing major and tried to push trough without having to go to doctor. After months the pain became so bad that sometimes i couldnt barely sleep. Finally i went took MRI and i was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis which means i've broken one of my vertebraes arch and my vertebrae has slipped forward. Doctors told me i couldnt never play football properly again, do any kind of contact or strength sports and it hit me like fucking train. Thats's where i started training my core and little bit later started going to the gym
Fast forward 6 to 7 years i'm now 23 and i'm pain free mostly. Getting stupid strong at core and main movements have literally saved my life. Lifting weights has made me so much more confident and passion and joy it brings to me are irreplaceable:)

i got a back problem at 15. Compressed vertebrae or smth like that. Its where 2 of the vertebrae are too close together. This caused chronic pain in the muscles around that area. Took around 6 months of endless research to get the pain to go away. Now im 17 and squat 340, dl 375, and bench 230. Not as strong as you at 17 and thats why you are my inspiration man

great video man. im currently going through my own transformation, although not as drastic as yours. I started at 16, 6'0 tall, weighing 140 lbs. I remember my one rep max being 105 lbs on bench press. I was unhappy with how scrawny i looked and i decided to do something about it, so i started taking weight classes at school all year round. its been about 14 months since i started, and im happy with where i am today. I'll be 18 on Jan 25th, i now weigh 175 lbs, and my one rep max is now 205 lbs on bench press :) im going to keep working and my goal by the time i graduate is to weigh at least 190 lbs and be able to bench press 225 lbs. not to mention increase my squat and deadlift as well lol. thanks for sharing this video it serves as a great inspiration to me and countless others :)

I am aiming to be in awesome shape I am really strong but I think that’s due to my wait I am not aesthetic (I have decent quads and biceps (but I have a belly on me) and I am at my heaviest I have ever been I was in the gym today and I was doing rows and I had a full stack and I ended up pulling and moveing the whole machine rather then lifting the weight up In the air so I asked the people that worked their if they could bolt the machine down so it wouldn’t move and then I did it and did the full stack for reps I don’t know if I will regret that or not due to it is ego lifting but it felt good and it released some energy and some pent up aggression (I am not on roids btw) I just wanted some Tips on diet and on how to train consistently without getting injured but making improvement and with been able too train and not be as tired as often also

Good job for your accomplishments man! I have had several back injuries due to my own ignorance. I can't believe that a doctor had told you that from a bulging disc, that's just ridiculous. Our bodies are amazing and the human body can come back from so many things with proper treatment, rest, and physical therapy. Like you I did extensive research about the spine and have learned so much, things that were never taught to me before. Anyone who goes in the gym needs to understand the basics of the spine and how to protect it. Anyways, good job again!!

I'm an ICU nurse that used to work very closely in a neuroscience department with the neuro/back surgery group, and I can confirm that often plenty of these surgeons simply do not understand the advice they are giving. If you have a neutral spine when you're lifting, I truly do not understand the concerns. Strengthening your core, hips, and lower back muscles can only HELP you protect your disks more. There are certainly plenty of lifts that I don't advocate ANYONE, even with a healthy spine doing due to the higher strain and higher risk of injury (looking at you, good mornings) but everyone should be doing SOME kind of weight bearing exercise, and squatting is the best and healthiest lift to promote the mobility people need to maintain to be healthy. Good on you man, keep it up.

I have a dream to come the best version of myself. I will never give up till I finally reach it. This is my story. It all started 4 years ago. I really liked the way how people build there body's with calisthenics and the movements behind this. I was like really skinny ( 190cm and 63 kg) and I hated the way I looked and had eating disorders I felt like really weak every day and it was hard to stand up every day and look in the mirror. I started to workout in the gym and started to change my eating habits. But I didnt reach my goal yet. I am struggling a lot on my way to the top but I will never give up until I stay on the top and had reach my goals. I got stomache problems when I changed my diet to a bulking phase . I couldn't eat lot to bulk and I had all day every day a feeling of sickness like I have to spew all time and it was really hard for me to eat that much this was a fucking hard time that shit was like 1/1/2 years long . And in this time I didn't know what I want to do in the future after school because I thought I will never can do something with sport so I studied somethingelse. I got depressiv didn't work out and let my dream go away because the sickness defeat me. But one day I stand up and I knew I couldn't live like this and I started again with working out. It all went well for 4 months but then I got shoulder problems. I have a inflammation shoulder and can't train for 3 months. By the way I was gambling addicted and lost a lot of money and I really was on the ground of my life and was broken down and had suicide thoughts and isolated myself completely but I will never give up. It's hard to fight all this shit. I get pressed on the bottom all the time but I will fight till the end. I got something that's important. I got the right mindset after the years of pain. I will fight till my dream comes true. It's not how many times you get knocked down that count, it's how many times you get back up. And now after all this shit I know what I want to be. I want to be a sport beast and I want to teach others how they can reach their goals and help others to be the best version of themselves. So I will change my way and will go this way and studying this. Nobody really see my vision what I see in me . My familiy and friends I think don't really know how important sport is for me right now in life. The dedication, the effort you need to do all this, to change your diet, to eat much or less , to train your body and skills(like handstand) and to fail 10000 times and then after months you reach your goal. I really like to give all in workouts and to fight fight fight. I will fight and I will reach my goal. I see yall in 2021 maybe there I have upload a motivational transformation💪🏼

I went from being in decent shape as a junior in high school and then let myself go senior year. I got up to 210 and was called fat by people I thought were my friends. I had no confidence in myself. As I got to college I met a girl and wanted to look good for myself and obviously for her. I went from 210 to 160 in 9 months. I now have more confidence. I am now running 2 businesses as a sophomore in college and am the PR Chair for my CEO club and fraternity. Lifting changes you for real.

There is a special feeling with going against the grain. Doing things that most would consider impossible, conquering your goals with discipline and putting in the work when most would rather be lazy and watch netflix. Hell I still work out even when I do watch Netflix. My father complains about being fat but does nothing to go to the gym. To me its a matter of how BADLY do you want it? Are you willing to fight for it? What are you willing to sacrifice to get what YOU want? To prove people wrong and change their perception of you is a hell of a rewarding feeling.

Two years ago I blew out on my back. Either a bulged disc or SI joint problem. Lifting hurt me and lifting is helping me. In many ways I'm stronger now than I was then. Powerlifting is my love man

Can't say I started lifting because of you, but I had the same body type as you in early highschool, so I use your transformations as inspiration to push even harder. Keep it up!

Hey dog big fan. Coming from someone who has had a speech impediment and had to go through speech therapy I really admire your story. I've been very skinny most of my life and have decided to set goals and turn my life around while I still can. I also started powerlifting and I am motivated by your story. Even though I'm 7 years older than you I still want my story to reflect yours... that's normal right? Keep it up man cant wait to see what the future holds!

I just started powerlifting and I can honestly say that even though I’m early in the process, I instantly fell in love with it. There’s just something euphoric about lifting a certain weight you felt like you would never be able to lift. I’m gonna keep doing this and hopefully make a transformation video after a year or so

Seriously, working out saved my back, too. I had a weird back-problem (never diagnosed or anything). In fact, doctors didn't even take me seriously when I said my back felt funny and it hurt. I was in daily pain and could not even HOLD and EMPTY bar without feeling like my back was about to break in half.
I still went to the gym, though. I could do every exercise that didn't heavily load my lover back. So I did lots of pullups and pulldowns, and I started every single session with a few minutes of slow cobra-poses and leaning over a foam roller with ab exercises. Basically, I did everything that relieved the pain. I noticed that after leaning backward (cobra-pose), the pain got lesser, so I kept doing it. Keep in mind that if your disk bulges forward, leaning back might make it worse. I figured I had a small bulge going backward, so leaning back was pushing it back in place. Something like that.
Weeks passed, and suddenly I could do cable rows. At home, I made sure to not sit much, and never with bad posture. Did regular cobra-poses during the day, too. Some more weeks and I could deadlift a bar with a little weight. As soon as my back felt funny, I stopped the exercise.
Now? My back still feels kind of weird, but never in pain anymore, and that I think is exclusive because I strengthened all the muscles that support my spine, and actively helped it heal. I can now deadlift and squat more than ever, though I am still very cautious and abort the set if I ever feel something funny, and I'm very mindful of putting my torso in compromising positions.
I'm telling everyone with disk issues who are still at a level where they CAN move around, you can fix it. Do research online, and: -very carefully feel out what helps and what makes it worse
-do everything you can to support good posture (sitting well, standing well)
-less downward pressure on your back if you periodically walk and lay down during the day
-do whatever back-strengthening exercises you can manage
-Decompress your spine with dead hangs, cable pulldowns and if possible reverse hyper-extensions
I'm happy for you Max, your transformation videos are truly motivation fuel. Respect

I got the help of a lot of people wo injured their backs and came back to heavy lifting
      All you need is :
--- Core Stability : a strong core takes the strees of the spine while doing weight lifting , and Stop micromovements that causes pain , because a strong core brings good Spinal Stability to a healthy back . I recomend you to do the Mcgill big 3 everyday and before training
---- Good Spine Higiene : now that your back is injured , you need to give back his health , and one of the tricks along core stabikity is spine higiene , when you pick something off the ground or another movement , do the HIP HINGE , dont bend about your back , but be carefull to not e tend your back either , your head have to be in line with your back ,so , dont flex your spine , Instead try to HiP Hinge the most in your movements , of this way you will desensitize your back
--- Dont Sit too much or Avoid sitting the neccesary to be pain free : before my back injury i sitted for many hours pain free , but after the back injury sitting for too long hyrts a little bit ,and is because sittng is the new smoking , in pain free people and in injured people , so i Never sit , only when im in bathroom , but Instead of Sitting i Lay down :) is more comfortable than sitting , and i eat standing and study standing ,i only use "Sitting" for going in a car , in the cinema , etc if sitting hurts you dont sit! Explain to your family that if you sitt your back starts hurting and tell them that you are pain free standing or laying down , and shoe them the hundreds of videos that are in RUclips about sitting telling that is bad for the health , now im pain free when i stoped sitting , and when i sit every 1 month or for separate days my back dont bothers me , so i recomend you to not abuse sitting ,if you want to lift again you have to avoid almost all movement that causes you pain , and i know that sitting is comfortable ,but more uncomfortable is getting up from sitting with back pain , for examole in the offices in the future the people will be standing instead of sitting , and you can progress in your life without sitting :)
