I TOTALLY AGREE THAT CRISP GAVE ONE OF THE GREATEST CLASSIEST PERFORMANCES EVER IN THE RACE BUT TO SIMPLY BRUSH ASIDE RED RUM IS UNFAIR.
It has been said that the British public voted Red Rum Sports Personality of the Year. but the BBC didn't think they could give the award and gave it too Virginia Wade.

I absolutely agree Caroline 'Rummy' should have been given the Sports personality of the Year he was already a living legend and loved by millions....
