- There's a lot of debate about whether or not R&B star Brandy is considered the Vocal Bible. No matter what side of the argument you stand on, you cant deny her cultural and musical impact during her career in music and entertainment. She's legendary and has a legendary voice. She has fans all over the world and nothing is stopping her from getting better and better as the years go by. Join me in discussing if Brandy is the Vocal Bible as her fans call her.

I’ve always liked Brandy but only really dived deep into her catalog until B7 came out. B7 is my favorite - sonically, lyrics, vocal technique, emotion, production and the messages within the music. It is exquisite for my taste. She is a musical genius. Each of her other albums are great too. She is an impeccable artist.
My next fav album is NSN!

I can understand why people disagree with The Vocal Bible title. It takes a particular ear to truly hear all the nuances that Brandy creates.

Its about the way she interprets a song and records it and her influence across multiple genres of music because of it. Her fans didn't give her that title. Her industry peers did.
You’ll get no argument from me. And if the industry gave her the name they’ve most certainly done a great job at trying to take it away from her. The fans are the ones that keep that title alive.
@@Therealdeal06 the industry hasnt tried to "take her title away." Billboard recently called her that in an article for her 20th anniversary of Full Moon. That was a big deal. That acknowledgement pretty much shut all that nonsense down.
Yes I feel like it's more so the listeners always trying to discrected her because her voice is different and unique and always comparing her journey to others in the industry

I think people hear the term "Vocal Bible" and they assume Powerhouse, dramatic soprano singer. But that's not what the honorific title means or implies.

Yes she did. She was a huge fan of Brandy. You can hear it in her own music. The influence I mean. But you’re absolutely right. The fans have really been the ones keeping the name going. And I don’t think it’s an insult to other great singers.
Respectfully, no, she didn't. Brandy got the nickname, The Vocal Bible after "Full Moon" came out. That nickname seriously refers to that album specifically. Long before anyone knew who Stacey Barthe was. Fans seriously need to stop over-analyzing every damn thing.

@MrJovialJames Shortly after the Full Moon album was released, I heard people start referring to it & Brandy as The Vocal Bible.
I also like the same songs on Afrodisiac. It's her weakest album. I hate to say it like that but all that Timbaland "experimenting" he was doing. Songs like Saditty and I don't even remember, but they were str8 wack!!!
I totally agree about Afrodisiac being the weakest album. I don’t go back to it as often as I do other albums.
@Therealdeal06 Brandy's weakest album is "Human". Brandy hates that album. It's the reason why Brandy hasn't worked with Rodney Jerkins since then. The only thing that saves "Human" are Brandy's vocals. But the production was weak. Rodney Jerkins half-assed that album & everybody knows it.
