I live in Los Angeles and use to go to Mavericks Flat Saturday nights in late 70's and early 80's. A lot of the Soul Dancers hung out there and it was so much fun. Nonstop dancing, never any societal issues or drug use, including marijuana.
A family friend from Detroit saw Fred "Rerun" Barry at a club and begged me to ask him to take a pix (Polaroid), I bet she still has it today.
To see the Soul Train dancers have led successful lives and are thriving makes me happy.

I like that Soul Train gave everyone a chance to be "hood celebrities". It made them feel good about themselves, gave them a creative outlet, and gave them stories to tell. And seeing them - people who look like "us" - made us feel good ourselves, too. They were living a dream for us all. Beautiful Black folk and POC, looking good and dancing freely as if the world was never against us. I wasn't born until 1990, but I love the nostalgia!

This guy always had a mellow and easy going vibe. Clearly one of the most interesting dressers. I liked the way he seemed to glide and flow with his dance moves.

This is wonderful to revisit these times with these wonderful dancers. What a better era and time for this country in my opinion. I never knew this guys name and never knew that he was on for 15 years wow. Where is Dina Rivera? The entire 70s and early 80s were the golden age for the show in my opinion.

Okay, I HAD to add another comment. I enjoyed finally seeing footage of the late great Jermaine Stewart dancing on Soul Train annnnd, it's cool that Mr. DeSantiago went into medicine as a profession. Much respect to them both 🙏🏾.

Marco what a guy. Light bubbly personality but truly genuine and courteous. What a decade (and some change) that must have been. What a family omg. I can't even dance well but wish I was apart of this. I wanna reboot the show myself!! :D

Soul Train really is like the fountain of youth. My favorite Soul Train line moment of Marco's was when he did the E.T. dance to Rick James' "Cold Blooded". He was so smooth!
