I think we can all agree that our childhood was awesome. Sweet memories.
Yassss! The best!
Bullshit bitch!
You didn’t grow up in Chicago
Debra I'm 58 & was HOOKED from the 1st ep. of SOUL TRAIN on Saturday's.
GOOD times. 😊😊😊
Graduated in 1982. I concur wholeheartedly
Those times are the greatest. I am only one year shy of two decades old but I feel my generation as a whole stinks like rotten meat compared to the old timers.
I can honestly say we had the best era.
These kids will never know the feeling of turning on the TV and hearing Soooooul Train.
Absolutely!!!!!! Phone. They don’t even have a clue. Diesel
Bless their hearts. I hate it for them.
True!
@@marquitashiver6141 I'm 14 but I wish we had a soul train
_ST_ got these dancers aging backwards. Great genes my people have.
I was thinking the same aging well brothers. Great funny video
I know Right Check Out Soul train Dancer #PowerRoyal #Powerangelbaby #Angelsrforever #ChocolatetigerProductions #AudioErotica Google: #RobinPowerRoyal
Thanks a lot ....Fanta - C
Thanks a lot Fanta-C
TRUE! 👍👍👍👍👍
These segments prove that dancing is the secret ingredient in the fountain of youth🕺🏾💃🏾 #80sbaby
I'm about to have my own soul train line at home while in quarantine
Amen! I'm bout to start dancing a lot more.
For real, if he left SoulTrain when he was 30 in 1990 that makes them 61, they sure don't look 61, not even 50..
These guys can tell a story just as good as they dance! I really enjoyed them sharing their Soul Train journey.
Indeed. I love hearing people revel about the 70, 80 and early 90s. It was almost magical.
Right! I felt like I was there with them 😅
Ptoyman, Thanks for that my bro just giving it to you Raw and real. your boy Diesel
I love hearng their stories too ❤
Cartoons, American Bandstand and Soul Train every Saturday!! 80' best decade EVER!!
School House Rock!!!!!
Micheal Jackson, Hide & seek, Actually playing outside, Drive Inn Theater, etc..Yes the 80's were Magical!!!
These dudes where monsters when it came to dancing
Thanks for the love Krispy.
Your welcome!
“You could see my socks through my sandals” 😂😂😂
That was absolutely true
🤣🤣🤣🤣
STRAIGHT STYLIN'
I read this as he said it 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
These two guy's were arguably, the best male dancers on Soul Train during their tenure on the show, that's 💯...
I agree. Impeccable dancers. Put them next to a classically trained top notch male ballet dancer and they will easily outperform them artistically, athletely, etc. This clip has me so hyped and emotional, Love these guys so much!
Shawn the Campbell brothers was FIRE.
Wore the suspenders, Stacks & Colored socks. Whew CHILE.
Boys could dance.
Agreed!!!
WOW!!!!! That’s mad respect. Shawn, I truly appreciate all this love. I also gotta give it up for my homies on the show that kept on our toes also; Captain Crunch N Da Funky Bunch. Those were my homies Gary, Charles, Steve. 🥂🍾. Thanks Shawn C.T
@@rawspitt Don't mention it my brotha'. It was certainly a pleasure watching you and your dance partner do your craft for around a decade.
You two cats, "Big Louie", "Tom Tom", Derek "D" Fox, just to name a few, yawl were like TV celebrities/personalities, being that you were on the show pretty much weekly, and yawl stood out.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I admired you and Fanta-C the most, because I considered you guy's as the best male dancers, in my most wildest dreams, I couldn't begin to be able to dance like you two, 😄.
May the "Most High" continue to bless all of you sincerely gifted/talented people from Soul Train...
there is no way in hell they are 60. 😦
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🎂thanks for the love. Yes I (Diesel) turned 60 Jan 6th. And Fanta’C Feb 8th
David Terrell Man you and Fanta C had me hyped up as teenager. My mom went to school Damita Jo Freeman. She use to tell me stories about her dancing on Soul Train! You guys are the best! L.A was on 🔥 in the 80’s. Much love homie!💪🏾✊🏾
@@rawspitt , Wow I remember watching you two men on Soul Train. You all looked still looked Dapper Handsome Ageless. I from that 1970s & 1980s Era. I am 51,so you were in your Teenager Years when you began dancing on Soul Train. I still have my VHS Tapes of the 80s Soul Train. 1970s & 1980s were my favorite two Decades to watched Soul Train. Thanks for entertaining us over the Years🙋🏾♀️

LOL!
Truth! That’s before they changed the recipe.
@@ladyvee7110 I want Don's secret recipe! If I start eating that chicken now, by the time I'm 80, I'll still look like I'm in my 30s! 😁
🤪🤪🤪LOL🐔🐔🐔
It’s comforting to know that these guys aged so well. I’m happy when I find out that people I looked up to took care of themselves.
The OG original dances just to smooth flawless 😍
What up Vicky Landing? Thanks for the acknowledgment. Ya Boi! Diesel
I am just beside myself with this series ❤️😍🥰🥰
What up Betsy? Glad you are enjoying the soul train gangs interviews. I’m glad we did it. Just for reason like this; enjoyment. Thanks, David Terrell AKA Diesel
Right
They don’t age!!! I gotta make sure I keep dancing
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣dancing is the key
Water and dance
Water, dance, and minding your own business is the key!!
Can we get Damita Jo Freeman, Pat Davis, and Crystal Calhoun next? 😍😍
That would be nice but Crystal lives in ATL, and they can’t pay Damita enough to peak her interest. Someone should call up Pat
They recently featured Pat.
Exactly - dem 3 are the ones I want to hear about their dance experiences on ST
I'm loving Damita Jo Freeman, Pat Davis and Crystal Calhoun all of them had booty for days, great dancers on Soul Train.
I think Damita Jo passed away some time ago
Soul Train was a fantastic show . It brings back a lot of great memories. The dancers were great. RIP Don Cornelius
I’m Mexican, came to the US when I was 6/7 at around 9 (year 88) we started watching soul train. We grew up in South Central, went to Ascot Ave. Elm., Carver Jr. (too) and Jefferson. Black culture was normal to us and we picked it up fast, Every Saturday morning my sister and I watched it and she learned to battle dance or for the fashion. I wanted to hear the popular music and we had a good time with it. Man this brings back so many good memories, good times. Being from South Central we picked up accents that were not favorable in our culture but we saw no barriers. Thank you Soul Train.
I'm way older but went to Carver and Jeff too. Welcome aboard!✌🏾
Alex Peace what’s up my dude? no color barriers that’s right Homie we are one. it’s your boy diesel man from fantasy and Diesel just wanted to say man I am so elated to know that I was dancing and you watching Soul Train along with your sister helped you connect the dots to Black Culture. The funny thing is that we all went to the same high school you just were after me but it’s all good Demos baby! one love man much respect I’m glad we connected through no color barriers but just for the feel of music that’s life man we’re on a roll. love peace and soul Diesel
David Terrell for sure! Let’s go Demos for life! I’m closer to Crenshaw now so I’m still here. Love my community. Earl’s hot dogs on Crenshaw plays Soul Train old vídeos as restaurant entertainment. Thanks for the reply. Btw, we used to sing the intro song too! ✌🏼
So if these guys were 30 in 1990 they must be sixty now! That is incredible I would not say they look a day over 40.
The dancers were just as iconic as the entertainers that came on Soul Train. They all played a part in making Soul Train as popular as it was.
If social media would of been around during this time these soul train dancers would of been a hit!
I could watch these all day! Also, when I was a kid, I remember my mom telling me they told the dancers the answer to the Scramble Board before hand, but I didn’t want to believe her 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏿Moms kept it 💯w/you. Yes the told us ahead of time. Diesel
The key to maintaining your youth is.........DANCING!
There will never be a show like soul train again. To be in their mid to late 60s you guys look great.
Okay, the Soul Train dancers are proof that exercise/activity is the fountain of youth!
I only discovered Soul Train 2 days ago, Cheryl Song's ST interview popped up in my recommended, so I watched it. I immediately binged watched the other ST interviews. Each dancer was so interesting with their unique personality, look and dance. I was born too late to had been able to watch soul train but I still think the show is addictive and fun to watch. I would love to see old episodes re-aired so that us the younger generation can watch it.
What were you, born under a rock?
What a great idea. Thanks for discovering the love for our Soul Train Gang. We welcome you Stil. Thanks, Fanta’C and Diesel
Stil, it’s never too late to discover Sole. Your boy Diesel from Fanta’C & Diesel
@@rawspitt oh wow, this is such a honour! Thank you for all your contribution to the culture. We definitely need to celebrate our OGs more for paving the way.
Stil, I meant Soul
Was able to see most of those groups in concert. These two set an insanely high standard during that decade! 💯🌟🌟🌟💯
Whoa!!!!!! That’s big!!! Thanks Zaina it means a lot to hear that. Much love from ya boys Fanta’C n Diesrl
Facts
These dancers are relentless. They find different ways to get in. I'm inspired
Soul Train, thank you so much for these videos & providing a platform for these unsung Soul Train dancers to tell their stories. Many of us knew the faces but never knew the names or stories behind them. These two were one of my favorites from the show ❤
Glad to meet you 90’sKid. Thanks for being there on Saturday Morning to check us out. We love an appreciate you. Diesel. Follow on IG @TheRealDavidTerrell
My co-worker Dwayne aka Fanta-c is a Soul Train legend along with his partner Diesel.
What up O!!!!! Much love for that bro.#DWP
Oh bro these guys were the stuff and then some..those moves can't be duplicatec...
Talented, smart, and had a good time. 🕺🏽🕺🏽
I can’t believe how amazing all of the former Soul Train dancers look today. I wish we could bring back those days. Seems like we’ve forgotten how to have fun and enjoy life.
If I was ever around back in the day when Soul Train was around I would never leave it because it feels like home to me and everyone else❤❤
Yes Kolby, it was hard to leave, but fathers time is undefeated. Thanks, Diesel
It seems like that Living color 'old train' sketch made a number of soul train dancers retire out of embarrassment.
Ok!?!?!?!
Watching these are interesting, but hilarious at the same time 😂 Because they’re really serious. Bless their hearts 😂
It DID. 😁😄😁😄
really tho, a lotta these ppl stopped around 90-91. its all love tho cause these are classics
Living Color was just hating and wrong for that..lol.
Now, these two smart, talented
black men were on a serious
mission statement, about their
look, dance and style. That's
real goals and determination
coming out and they stole the
show, MATTERS PEOPLE

Go Uncle Wayne and Diesel!!! You two are fire!!! Some of ST’s best dancers! Always loved seeing and dancing with you two on tv!
Yes indeed Candace, it’s that family live that kept us pushing. Love ya CE
These stories and tales of ambition are very inspirational to go after what you want.
I feel so nostalgic watching Soul Train clips & videos from the late 70's thru the early 90's. Soul Train was a global platform that allowed us to show off our swag, our influence on style & most importantly OUR BLACK EXCELLENCE 😍🥰😍🥰✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Thank you Mr. Cornelius 🥰😍✊🏾
I glad I witnesse those days mid 80s for me Saturday after cartoons amazing
When I'm feeling down I watch soul train line dance. Instant happiness.
I NEVER MISSED A EPISODE IN THE 1980'S
THEY WERE ALWAYS JAMMING 🖤
My two favorite Soul Train dancers. I always tried to Pop like them.
Gubiks!!!!! Thanks for the love. Diesel
@@rawspitt Yes, sir. Much respect to you both.
These guys were awesome! They where very creative and funny. Love my culture!
👍Fantastic. I wish the dancers were paid. They really were the heart of Soul Train. It wouldn’t have been the same without the dancers.💖💝
Brothers had the time of the life!!!
Don Cornelius should have paid all of those dancers. It’s the principle.
Luvie 1980, you speak. The truth, 💯 Diesel
Eveybody talk about what Don Cornelius should have done. The business was not the dancers, it was the image. The image lasted longer than the dancers!!!
American Bandstand featuring Dick Clark didn't pay their dancers either. I don't think non of those other dance shows paid their dancers.
I believe in that principle. I'm sure they had a good time, but Soul Train wouldn't have been a thing without those incredible dancers. They were making a lot of money for the show. Who was living good from all that money? Not the kids. They got payed in chicken. Those kids influenced the world of dancing and fashion and personality and they were payed in fried chicken. I will always have love for the show and especially for Don Cornelius but those kids made that whole show. Where else were they supposed to go to get noticed? It's not like Nickelodeon was hiring Black and Asian kids lol! I admit, I would have loved to see Shaba doo on Hey Dude.
@@basquait1 The business was the dancers, the singers, the host, the camera's, the set designers and costumers. Some of the dancers dressed themselves. Every element of the show made Soul Train work.
I went to high school with these guys. Way to make it in life, enjoying what made you happy. One Love!!
My most memorable dance routine they had was during the soultrain line when Jesse Johnson's song Crazay was playing. Diesel was talking to a girl on stage and Fanta-C walks up to her with his arm extended and takes her away. Diesel looked shocked, and then shrugged his shoulders and started dancing. I laugh everytime I watch it.
Could some please repost that episode!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣yeah glad you enjoyed that skit, but it was the Opposite way around fantasy was talking to the girl diesel shelves that extends his hand the girl takes it and we walk off and fantasy shrugs his shoulders and starts to dance as if it ain’t no Thang
@@rawspitt Wow! Diesel is that you? I consider it an honor that you would respond to my post. I grew up watching y'all. There was a routine when you took Fanta-c's woman and a routine when he took your woman. The clip when you took his women is on this video, but there's was a clip when he takes yours. It was in the soultrain line during Jesse Johnson's Crazay song. You were wearing a black leather outfit. RUclips took it down for some reason.
That was fun to watch. I use to watch it on tv growing up Saturday morning and thought to myself wow how can I get on there. I lived in Brooklyn and was only 5 in 1985 so heyyyy🤷🏽♀️ very monumental
These stories automatically put me in a good mood seeing artists master their craft for the love of it, BUT I still would have needed a check! KFC doesn't cover travel & wardrobe cost, just sayin!!!
Gino, you are right, but it was more about the notoriety for us at that time. I’m glad that we didn’t have to travel cause Soul Train came to Hollywood Ca and we were ready for it. 👊🏿👊🏿. Thanks, Diesel
@@rawspitt Thank you brother. We're very thankful that all of the pioneers are getting the much due respect.

Thanks for repping every neighborhood. Y'all was the third age of legendary Soul Train dancers after Damita Jo Freeman (1), Jeffrey Daniels with Jody Whatley (2), and Cheryl among others. Y'all dance routines were the truth. 🎊🎉🎇🎆
Margaret McCall, I see you know your Soul Train history baby girl. What’s up?its your boy diesel thanks for the love. yeah we were third generation behind those great dance as you just mention they paved the way for fantasy and I to do everything that we did on the show. Love the shout out to Damita Jo. Unless females are wiggling their tailfeathers in a barely there dress, they don't get any love. I loved Damita Jo when I was child showing off real skills and being feminine all in one!
These men look melanin good. Have taken great care of themselves: Wonder if it's the fried chicken. I loved and looked forward to their routines Saturdays. Thx entertaining us. Nice how they left gracefully paving the way for others and wisely sought opportunities via Soul Train as a vehicle.
Hey Ladii!!!👋🏿👋🏿👋🏿👋🏿thanks for all your love for us. Yes passing the torch was a must hopefully we left it in good hands. The move I mad to go into acting has been ok, better than what I thought.
