I can honestly say this without hesitation. Everyone that I have seen so far looks good even if better when they were younger. Dancing really is what keeps us all young & healthy. I am so glad to have grown up in the era when watching Soul Train on Saturdays was a weekly standard. Man, I wouldn’t trade my childhood for anything . He was one of my favorites by the way.

He ain't have to lie abt creating a dance tho. That ain't Harlem Shake that's California Convulsions. A popular dancing junkie at Rucker Park NY created the Harlem Shake
I have been Myron’s Insurance agent for over a decade and I had only heard of his amazing stories while on soul train and his own musical venture.I am so proud of him and i’m glad he’s getting some recognition!
I remember him so well, I am 67 now and was in high school back then. He was an excellent dancer. He just stood out. May God bless and keep him safe. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.
Myron is and will always be my absolutely favorite Soul train dancer. He was the reason I was so good at doing the shake Watched him and tried emulating his wonderful moves
I love it I love it I love it! My cousin Myron! Oh my this was so exciting, I remember the days we whould sit around the Big Floor TV and everybody could not wait to see him on Soul Train. True we wanted to see the celebrities of course but my cousins was the real star to us! It's so exciting to see that he looks excellent, and took very good care of himself. He looks awesome, congratulations cousin, to a healthy life and many more years to life your best life ever !
Myron, I stole your shake dance and put my own spin on it! I used to wear them out on the dancefloor! Thank you for the years of entertainment. My week wasn't the same without Soul Train.
Yes! 🥰My siblings and friends tried to “shake” like that every Saturday when Myron started shaking on Soul Train!! “The Shake” was a popular dance at my high school dances, roller rinks, and social gatherings! Especially when the Bar-Kay’s sang, 🗣“Do It (Let Me See You Shake)! And we loved the outfits!

At least he was honest, "...we looked at them as peasants..." 😊 I had a cousin who made it on but she left after about 2 shows. She told us she couldn't tolerate the pettiness and jealousy. Now, my cousin was beautiful inside and out so hearing him admit the attitude of the dancers (maybe not all) just verified her truthfulness. We believed her anyways though. It's so much fun watching these videos of the dancers. He was one of my faves. My sister and I use to call him "Tyrone" because he looked like our soon-to-be then uncle. Thank you for sharing these videos with us. ❤️
God I miss my childhood watching Soul Train especially in the 80s when I was a teenager. I learned to dance by watching Soul Train...please take me back 😢
Hi Myron 😌. I am from The Soul Train era and I miss it sooooo much 😒. I was never a savvy (I went into singing since high school and beyond afterwards in public) dancer but I ❤'d watching The Soul Train. I still have many albums oh, yes actual albums, from that era and have no plans on getting rid of him. I just cannot get with what is called music of today. It just sounds like a bunch of unidentified noises to me. I will always be an ol' school music lover till God calls me home and perhaps afterwards ☺. Thank you Myron for the wonderful reminder of when music was music. God bless you and your family. 🎶😙🙏❤ Darlene from the Windy City
Me and my buddies were in the AF and used to call him/his dance 'Shimmy Man/The Shimmy Man dance'. We would get a few drinks in us and do some clowning around doing this thing called. "its a bird, its a plane, it's SHIMMY MAN!" instead of superman and start doing our version of his dance. Lol It was hilarious because each of us would add our own spin on it. I actually met him back in the day at a Mall in LA when I was a teenager (We're around the same age) He was pretty cool dude.
LOL! My crazy siblings and I had nicknames for all the dancers. We called Louie Ski Carr “Mr Walk”. Because, mostly, all he did walk back and forth then throw his hands up. Sometimes you might get a flip. Good times. Funny now knowing we were not the only ones.
One of my favorite dancers!! Looking good Myron!! You are looking even better with age. I love these Soul Train Dancers stories. It was about time you all got your props, you all made history!!
Myron is the man. He utilized his time on Soul Train to propel himself into acting and other vehicles. Very smart!!! Did not know he created the Harlem Shake. Love it!!!
Kids today actually do a lot more than twerking in this era . Their vibe and groove is different from the era of the 70's ,80's ,'90's or the early 00's ,but there's quite a few of them that understand it and built their own swag to it . It would be interesting to see what a Soul Train show would look like in this era . The music in this era to me is hit or miss and the dances could reflect that .As long as the music is hot ,the dances will b,e too.
Sounds like you’re trying to compete with the younger women by not including men, as well as by calling them girls. No wonder they can’t stand older women 🙄
I lived in LA at the time, and I remember him on a local dance show, before he went to AB and Soul Train. He stood out, because he was probably the best dancer on that show. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of that show, but he was very young.
This show was a big deal. No one could sit down during Soul Train. We were all up dancing together and dancing with the dancers on TV. Myron stood out in a sea of greats. He taught me personally how cool in public moved, dressed, and conducted himself. These ladies and gentlemen on ST were so iconic and such great role models for all the kids watching. It was always about being part of the larger group, live and let live, having fun but respecting everyone else, learning each others' moves but putting your own special spin on them, being the best version of yourself. Dancing was and is fun, healthy, a great way to stay in shape and express whatever you are feeling, good, bad, or ugly, in a creative and socially positive way. Thank you Myron and all the dancers of ST for all the great times and free life lessons.
He’s still so beautiful. He put his heart and soul into his dancing; you could just feel his energy just like with Michael Jackson. Probably only a handful of people could do his signature dance, the Harlem shake (doing it justice) 😀 He would be a good choice to host a new, this century, ST? But can we do a ST reboot with today’s lack luster music? Probably not!
Wow. Its like he sleeps in a jar of preserves every night... He hasn't aged a bit. Slap a Jhery Curl on him and he's instantly back in the 80s. Well done, Myron. well done sir.
I remember him… yesss!! I love that Soul Train gave a LOT of these dancers opportunities to be stylists; singers; back up singers; designers; choreographers; be in music videos, movies & commercials… etc! I always want to go on Soul Train 😌😊✊🏾
I really enjoyed listening & watching his journey to and off Soul Train including the accompanying witty animation, could easily watch an added two hours more of his experience on the show. BTW the magnitude of beautiful people showcased on the show within the clips from Tyrone Proctor, The Whispers, Marvin Gaye killing in the pink suit and of course Myron, just wow
I love hearing the dancers talk about being on the show. You feel like you're there in their experiences. He was a star dancer. I wasn't here to watch him when he was on there but he had the talent and looks. Some people just have it 🤷🏽♀️ It's interesting the dancers didn't get paid
Every single dancer on Soul Train is a legend. Period. I was a dancer and I was mesmerized at all the dancers, and it was so awesome to see people that looked like me on tv getting down!! This show is a gem.

I love these interviews he really gave us a look behind the scenes and showed us how hard they had to work back then love you Myron💜💜💜💜Soul Train Legend😘😘
Myron. I grew up on Soul Train. My aunt and I danced a lot while watching you & every on on Soul Train. YOU WERE VERY FORTUNATE!!! I know you had the time of your life!!! That era was sweet for me too. My aunt passed away too soon. I’ve no doubt that she would be watching these videos too.
Hey Myron; you were a great dancer indeed on SOUL TRAIN!! IN THE lower SOUTH i.e, Florida all through out that dance was called "THE SHAKE", It was well performed and perfected in 70 early, early 70's dear although YOU GUYS IN Cali; were great too!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😉😅😅🥂🤷🏽♀️💙💙💙
It's about time!!!! I was wondering when you guys would get to my favorite dancer of all time.. I soooo remember M. Montgomery because of his many signature dances and because he split his time between Soul Train and American Band Stand. ABS held a dance contest every year and M. Montgomery was in it almost every time. Who knew Don made him quit ABS.. Clearly Don Cornelius was a real piece of work back then. Some things I would have rather not known. Me and my sister would always try to dance like him. He was truly my favorite. MEMORIES.
OMG Myron I have been drastically searching for you . I’ve inquired about you on almost every Soul Train video. After I saw you do the “Harlem Shake”I was hooked, having no idea you were the creator of that dance therefore dubbing you “Mr. Shake”. My husband saw you in garment district downtown L.A. He came and said guess who I saw, Mr. Shake. He said he told you I called you that. When I first saw you do the Harlem Shake I was looking for you every show. Then you were the highlight and I watched the show anxiously to see you. A few years back I viewed one episode and you danced to “Let it Whip” I couldn’t stop watching you and now when I’m feeling a lil down I’ll play it. When I hear let it whip on the radio I think of you and. Smile. You were fantastic on Soul train. I’m so glad I ran across this interview. Tony Briggs interview popped up and he mentioned your name “Myron”. I was like that’s him I’ll search his First name and Soul Train and voilà! Thank you so much for this interview I had no idea you were so young when you started so true and by the way you look amazing also thank you for making that experience one that will never be forgotten!
Myron and nem, ICONS all day! Chile we use to try that dance, but most of us, could only get one side right, lol. Our rhythm was off. We were like how does he do that, and alternate, his arms, and still move his hips? Myron, was definitely, one of many favorite dancers. Great memories.
Nothing compares to old school Soul Train- I remember Myron and his dance style. I miss the good times of that era. The Soul Train line was Everything😘 and I lived for everything the show had to offer from the performers, fashion, dancers, show intro and of course Don Cornelius ♥ I'm happy to see the dancers capitalized off their notoriety because we loved them! 😘
Mryon may have invented the shake... but he could not have invented the Harlem shake if he was from LA y'all. According to Google: The Harlem shake, originally called the albee or Al B, is a dance introduced in 1981 by a Harlem resident named Albert Boyce aka "Al B". The dance is a "drunken shake" and Al B performed the dance with hi arm-flailing during the half-time break in basketball matches at Harlem's Rucker Park, circa 1981. The 'Al B' then grew a following around Harlem, before spreading to neighboring districts and later became known as "The Harlem Shake." It became main stream after G Dep featured the dance in his music video "Let's Get It' in 2001, then in G Dep's video "Special Delivery". It also appeared in Nelly's video for the song "Dilemma".
I remember him very well! I didn't know he was 15 when he started dancing on Soultrain. The Soultrain dancers are stats in my eyes. Thanks for making my saturdays the hippest🥰
That definitely ain’t the Harlem Shake for him to say that is disrespecting himself & the Harlem Shake dance. If he really knew what the Harlem Shake looked like he wouldn’t say that
Hey there i remember you i was 4 when you started and a married mom of 2 when you finished ... you are part of my black history thank you sir i loved your moves i called it the dominic click
You all were Superstars to us. I learned how to dance watching Soul Train. When Myron was doing that dance when Whip it Baby came out lol So many memories. Proud to be us, every Saturday. Thank you so much! Oh my Thank you!💕💕
I am so proud of my brother Myron! His commitment to the show helped Soul Train become a household name - Myron is a Dance Icon.
Indeed ! 💃🏽👏🏾👏🏾

Equally proud of my cousin Myron!

Soul Train dancers age backwards. They are finding all of these dancers. I love it. Everyone is still doing good and looking good and that’s great.

Been waiting for this interview, he is in my opinion, one of the best male dancers, certainly my favorite male dancer
He was my favorite Soul Train dancer. He inspired me to continue dancing in the early 80's
Nice episode. I have always admired Myron's dancing.
Shhesh, Myron proves dancing is the fountain of youth!
Congratulations Myron what an adorable adventure May God continue to bless you in all your endeavors
I am so happy to have happened upon this story. I have always loved Soul Train! Happy you made your dream come true, Myron! You're an inspiration!
Wow! His moves were fire! I can see why Don and the producers kept him on top.
Absolute best clips of Soul Train wow.
He was certainly one of the standout dancers. Didn't realize he started so young at 15 years old.
This was my crush on Soul Train and he was a great dancer.
I remember him very well! I didn't know he was 15 when he started dancing on Soultrain. The Soultrain dancers are stats in my eyes. Thanks for making my saturdays the hippest🥰
that is Not the Harlem Shake... that's another kinda shake altogether lol but nice piece of history told
That definitely ain’t the Harlem Shake for him to say that is disrespecting himself & the Harlem Shake dance. If he really knew what the Harlem Shake looked like he wouldn’t say that
He looks GREAT!!!
He has a very exciting history. Although he wasn't paid by Soul train it opened a lot of great doors for him. I loved this.
I definitely remember him dancing in the 80’s
