I consider myself lucky to have grown up in a neighborhood that was predominantly black. My family was the only Mexican family in the neighborhood. My best friends whom I considered my sisters really shared their culture with me and my family. I will always consider myself as partially black. My heart is black and my skin is brown. I always stand with my black sisters and brothers in god. To my best friends Faye and Ruthie you both had a positive impact on my life. You both were very supportive of me when I was suffering from abuse. You guys held me when I cried. Both of you were more like my sisters than my blood sisters. I will always love you both.

And maybe a movie at the Compton Drive-in at night!! ✨ Man-Oh-Man the time... The Afro's and the clock shoes with bail-bottom pants! EVERYBODY'S Mama was a good cook. Street gangs fought with bats, bricks, chains, and pocket knives. I remember it ALL-- from "Now & Laters" hard candy to Parliament & FUNK-a-DELIC ... He was a wonderful man. He did so much for African American artists. The show appealed to everyone all over the world. I remember, not wanting to ever miss the show on Saturday mornings. I missed the show. I hope something else comes out similar.

I am a 62 year old white female. Watching Soul Train every Saturday was a normal part of our routine. 💁 ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SHOW!! I remember seeing so many of these film clips. Don Cornelius was, by far, a man, who was, still is,and always will be among the greatest figures in my time. Breaks my heart that a wench would steal what he had worked so hard to achieve. He will forever have my respect. Rest in peace, sir😢...
Soul Train was one of the best African-American shows back in the day, one of my cousins was on Soul Train and she really enjoyed herself. Don Cornelius RIP, gone but not forgotten.
