      May I inquire what's the end goal for this project? Keep in mind that there are quite a few FPV'ers that not exactly pleased with how this "project" was implemented. Hoping that you have an explanation thats better than what passed as a Q&A on Bardwell's channel.

      He released the code publicly. Unsure about the prize now. I am unsure if he was even allowed or legal for him to do that. This is because the original idea came from the Lynchpin Project. Which in a way is unfair to the project. This could get messy fast. That said, the brilliance of the result cannot be overstated.

      @@aviontics exactly. The lynchpin idea is nothing new nor unique. They have no patent because they have no product. Just as you had the idea years ago, so did others.

    • @aviontics
      @aviontics 3 года назад

      @@rmhfpv9225 Unsure about that because my concept was not anything like the Lynchpin with 6 motors. Mine was 3 motors and was never meant to fly like the Lynchpin. By your standard, anyone can claim anything. It is clear that without the Lynchpin project, with its specification and requirements, this video would not exist, hence why I said, it's unfair that the code was shared publicly before consulting the Lynchpin project. Let's be fair here.

    One fine Sunday morning, Terrence Howard took a shower and stood there thinking about this shape and how it can thrust in any direction and hold itself steady until the water ran cold. He also thought about the shape a little bit more than that. But he was RIGHT [about the flight capability]. This is glorious. Now 4 cameras with a video mixer tied to head-tracked goggles!

  • @Gosuminer
    @Gosuminer 3 года назад +1

    The flying capabilities look exactly as I imagined when I first heard about the Lynchpin. I just did not think that anybody would succed in implementing it this perfectly in that short amount of time. Congratulations. It still is kind of useless but it's a work of art.

    A standard transmitter has 4 control inputs. We use them as 3 rotation (pitch, roll, yaw) and 1 translation (throttle - Z). What if you used sticks that also rotated? You could then have all 6 degrees of freedom from the two sticks. There are some very old helicopter transmitters that were similar to this, except they had one stick. Pitch and roll were on the stick as usual, rotation of the stick caused yaw rotation of the heli, and then throttle was a slider on the back of the transmitter. If you take two of those sticks, you'd have all 6 degrees of freedom. Although my guess is learning to fly it would be rather interesting. New style of 3D acrobatics maybe! :-)
