Not sure how I stumbled on your site, but everyone has been informative as well as enjoyable to watch. I will be getting my camper in a few weeks and once I do I am going to use these tips to book sites in Florida. Don’t want to book until I actually have the camper due to expected building delays. In the meantime, I am learning so much from you Owen. Thank you so much!!!! It will just be my dog Ellie and me. Recently retired and going to be living permanently on the road.
Thanks guys! Currently in the Keys but going to Everglades tomorrow. Today is my 15th day on the road in my self built campervan. Thanks for being one of the van lifers who convinced me.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle why do they make it so hard. here in NH you just go to the park. Put your money in a box, take a ticket and find a site. No hookups. But it's cheap.
Great presentation. Great tips. Loved it. We are planning Florida next winter. Can't wait. There are reservation bots that scoop up camping spots. I know the reservation sites are working hard to stay on top of those but they just get trickier. Another tip if you modify what is in your cart, the 15 minutes will refresh back to 15 minutes. We stayed in Zion NP for an entire month strictly using cancellation sites. We found patience pays off. So many folks book and cancel later that you capture great reservations by checking the sites often.
Just started following you! Already learned a few things from you ! Thank You! We are from Toronto 🇨🇦. We are heading to Florida again in a few days but now in a Dodge Ram 3500 with a Cirrus Truck Camper on it . 23 ft. So we are not too long ! We did the East coast of Canada. In the fall ! It was amazing ! So now time for some sun !🌟
Great tips, I learned something... We will be in Gainesville on the 5th of Feb and are looking for a place to extend for a few days. I likely will end at a GA State Park since I am heading back to Savannah! One day, I hope our paths with cross.. Pat & Maggie (my Dog) in our Roadtrek Zion! PS Like the idea of Tuesday Tips!
Great job this was helpful . I usually get my feelings hurt on reserve America and never explored the tabs. We live in Florida and have a very hard time booking anything. We are still working full time so all we have is long weekends and a big summer trip. See you on the road!
Many Florida state parks have "walk-ups: reserved on a first-come first-served basis, and once you are in that site, you can state there for up to 14 days. For instance, at Fort Clinch I arrived and had only two nights available (no walk-ups were available at the time), but during my two days, someone left the walk-up site, and I moved over to that site, and I could stay there up to 14 days; I only ended up staying there for about 7 days and then moved on to Anastasia state park in St. Augustine.
Very helpful information! As much as we want to “travel America” as Floridians we may never get to see everything this great state has to offer! Thank you for the info! 🤙
We totally understand. We feel the same way about Carolina state parks. Your state is special for sure. Well except during summer. Too dang hot for Maggie and us. 😂❤️
Love this video! I'm actually planning a Jan/Feb '22 Florida trip right now with our Travato. As you're aware many Florida sites are listed at 20' (Anastasia/Tomoka/etc.), and I've been hesitant to even put that in the box. Your using 10' really got my attention! I like how you use the photos to get an idea of the fit. Did you ever get any pushback at check-in or from the camp hosts/rangers on the length of your Travato for the sites with shorter length listings?
No, we have never had any problems checking into a shorter site. We’ve been lucky that we can fit into every site we have booked. The pictures do help. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle Thanks! Just snagged 4 nights in John Pennekamp SP next February. Been checking off and on for a month now. Somebody cancelled a 14 night stretch and the first 7 days disappeared while I was trying to select it. I grabbed the 4 we needed and the other 3 disappeared a minute later. Crazy. But yeah, Woohoo, we're going to the Keys!
Thanks for the tips. Trying to watch and learn before we buy our class b. ( this spring or summer) The apps you use and how to navigate them are very helpful. Wondering what memberships you use? Passport America seemed good until I realized we could mostly only use it Sunday to Thursday . We will be weekenders initially ( Thursday to Sunday as I’m still working) Memberships could be a Tuesday tip subject. Also more apps you use. Thanks, this one was very helpful!
You've probably already found it... so sorry this is such a late reply... they get lost in the mix... trying to do better about answering them all. But we did a video on RV Parky... it shows what we use and how we use it. Thanks. Owen
You are correct. They get their $6 per night. Unless you add it when you check in. The rangers can extend your nights if available without the fee I believe. If you book new nights they can do it but the fee is added. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It looks like an awesome place. I not sure we are going that far down the coast. But will put it on our list of places to see. Thanks so much for the suggestion.
Love your videos. Wife and I are planning on purchasing a Travato. Would it have been better to purchase it used? Let someone else raise the baby. Also, how do you reserve your space when you have to go in to town? Thanks.
Great Tuesday Tip !. The best tip I have ever seen for booking sites. I wonder if this will work in other states? Now, if we can get you to do a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday videos. Well, I guess that is asking a little much, but that is how much we enjoy being with ya'll.
That is such a nice thing to say... you can use this tip for any state that uses “Reserve America”, I would think any other sites would have other ways to do the same thing. Thanks so much for your nice comment.
Reserve America will hit you up for a reservation fee for each site you reserve. If you switch sites within a campground you will have to pay the reservation fee for each time you move. I had that happen last year at Myakka River State Park. I had to reserve three different sites for my three-night stay and had to pay the reservation fee for each site. To make it worse, one of the sites went unused while I waited to move into it. It was reserved and paid for but the people never showed up.
I sure miss this old system of booking state parks in Florida. The new system is very frustrating and I've given up and walked away from the computer a few times lol. Have you guys seen the new booking system?
I have to say we TOTALLY AGREE!!! We are on another trip right now and skipped Florida because the system was just too flaky to trust getting sites on the spur of a moment. It’s a shame.
Just learning about booking in FL! Can’t wait to camp there! Thank you for your info! Happy camping!

So glad to hear you are finding the videos informative. Good luck on getting your camper. Glad you stumbled upon us.
Enjoyed your 1st Tuesday Tips! Great idea & double bonus for us because we get great tips & we get to see y’all twice a week!
That is very nice of you to say. We appreciate you watching.

We hope you are loving the van life. You will love the Everglades. Safe travels.
Love, love you 'Tuesday Tips'..I will be sharing this with all who I know are thinking 'Florida Sunshine '...Thank you for sharing !
We also hope to add other ways we find places to stay so stay turned.
Great tips, thank you sir for posting!
You are so welcome and thank you for watching.
I Loved the Tuesday Tip! The information you presented gave me another tool to add to my future RV adventure tool box. Keep on trekking!
So glad you will be able to use the tip. I like “keep on Trekking” we may have to use that.
Yay! Thanks for the Tuesday Treat! I think it will be a great addition to your channel!
Thanks for letting us know you like the treat. That might be a better name... Tuesday Treat’s.
This is great! I will definitely use this tip and can probably use it at other sites too. Thanks. Smiles from Ohio.
The tips should also work for any States that use Reserve America.
Thanks for the video that will help 👍
We are so glad we could help. We love Florida SP.
Love the tricks. It is so difficult to book for Florida’s winter months.
It is difficult but it can be done if you are flexible. Thanks for watching.

Love this. Great tips, thanks. Cheers!!!

Great help. Would you consider Walmart on a Saturday or check in to a hotel?
We would consider Walmart. But probably not a hotel because of Maggie. Thanks for the suggestions.
If available, could you choose a tent site, instead of an RV site since your van is small? Or, would they frown on that?
Sometimes. You have to read the fine print. If nothing is available we drop backs to that. Sometimes they are much better and cheaper too.
Just wish FSP would hold sites for tax paying residents. We too have such difficulty getting reservations right here at home.
I can understand your frustration. You do have awesome State Parks.

Love the new series! 🤗
Thanks for letting us know.
Does this method work with the new system that Florida State Parks started using a year or so ago?
Yes it does. It's a little different but the steps are still the same. Successfully stayed 5 weeks this year with only 3 reservations when we left NC.
I believe Reserve America will charge you a separate reservation fee each time you change sites at the same park if you do it online. Did for me.
You are correct. They get their $6 per night. Unless you add it when you check in. The rangers can extend your nights if available without the fee I believe. If you book new nights they can do it but the fee is added. Thanks for watching and commenting.
While in Florida you should visit the coral castle,it is near Miami. I think you guys would like it.

Wow! We missed your question. If you can find a good used one I'd go for that for sure. There are so many out there it's not hard to find them.

Since I am 37 ft, I use Google maps to help pick sites.
That is a great idea, thanks for sharing.
Please check out a brand new RV Resort for 55+ I saw it on Drivin and Vibin it’s called SUNKISSED VILLAGE RESORT! Plenty of space
We will check it out, thanks for the suggestion.
VAN TREKKING lifestyle you’re welcome!
Maybe Saturday night might be a good night for boondockkng...just a thought.
It is for sure. Not much of that in Florida though.
that link is dead
Thank you.
Florida is fighting a land grab on the parks, this can happen anywhere
All I can say is WOW! Turn the state parks into golf course and someplace to go when they chase Disney out.
