- There’s no doubt that Florida is an RVer’s paradise. Filled with beautiful beaches, theme parks, national parks, wildlife watching, warm weather, and more, this destination attracts travelers of all kinds throughout the year-especially during winter months. While popular campgrounds book quickly as RVers escape cold weather across the U.S., Florida’s state and county parks offer an abundance of camping opportunities with scenic views, outdoor activities, and fewer crowds.
Florida has more than 170 parks located throughout the state, including 50 with campgrounds. Here are a few to check out the next time you plan a visit to the Sunshine State.
Myakka River State Park. Located in Sarasota, this state park offers diverse landscapes, wildlife, and more than 100 species of birds for premium birdwatching. There are three campgrounds with 90 RV sites, some of which offer full hookups and space for larger rigs.

From hiking trails to water activities, you’ll find plenty to do outside, and in the winter this is the perfect place to watch the manatees swim. There are RV campsites with hookups, and shower and restroom facilities within each camping loop.

Fort Desoto County Park. This county park is located in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and it offers more than 230 RV campsites. Many of the sites provide water and electrical hookups, as well as spectacular water views. Enjoy 7 miles of beachfront, and be sure to check out the park's historical Fort Desoto. Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance.
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Make your way to Key Largo to stay at this Florida Keys destination. The park has plenty of RV campsites with hookups, and there’s a playground, cafe, laundry facilities, and a boat launch at the campground. Visitors can book snorkeling tours, hike a nature trail, kayak, and catch incredible sunsets.

Wild horses and bison roam through the prairie lands of the park. It’s also a great place to canoe, kayak, hike, and bike. Stop by the visitor center to learn more about the Indigenous history of this region.

Great video on Campendium! Thanks for sharing! I learned a few I haven’t tried yet
800, 000 miles of beaches, I don't think so. Florida has closer to 1350 miles of beaches. 800,000 miles is 1/3 distance to the moon.
Hi guys, I sub to you. Thanks for the FL review. I'm a Floridian myself but don't live there (army brat).
its getting hot and humid with too many people..i would go to arizona
Arizona is too cold at night, too windy all the time, and too dusty and dry. There aren't enough people to support reasonably priced food, and gas.
You stay in Az and I'll be happy in Florida, Happy Trails y'all
@@duane4972 i live in florida. have you camped recently or will you in a couple months..than will you brag about how wonderful it is . no cheating with running your a/c in you RV. its a swamp.
@@tracy2762 don’t forget about the love bugs…
Where did you get that Florida has 800,000 miles of beaches? Think about it. The MOON is 225,000 miles from Earth.
Oh my god Becky...
Great information, but you are really hard to understand. Please consider that enunciation is an important part of a successful vlog.
I don't like it you park to close to other people. You go camping to get away from people and they park you 10 feet from other people.
i dont understand....if i buy rv or convertible van,the purpose its not to have a room and pay rent to someone
so if i ve to go in places and pay at least 24$ multiple 31 days make close 1000$ where is the save?where is the point to have rv and everywhere you go they make you pay,i mean in america i m european i m thinking to back us and make my convertible van but i m scary to not find free place and have hard life
