Spent a great 2 weeks there in 2019 in my RV. Lots of hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing, though no luck with the fishing. Not sure what I was doing wrong. Met a fellow there who suggested Shired Island Park to me and I enjoyed that as well though it's much different.
We definitely plan on staying at state parks as much as possible. Can I ask if you use any discount programs at these state parks? Our first time out was at Myrtle Beach State Park but it was expensive..

Florida has some of the best state parks in the country.
They are pretty nice. But driving across the US these last few years, we have some awesome state parks elsewhere

Myrtle is one of the more expensive we have been to.
We don’t use a discount- most are cheaper than private campgrounds and better we feel
