As a resident of Live Oak, FL Monday was a very slow day as most are the day after holidays. That Italian Pizzeria on the left after Keens buildings is in my opinion the best around. Also that smell as you entered town from 90W, that's the feed mill where they make feed for chickens cows etc. And at 5:33 that courthouse (Built in 1889-1904) I believe is the oldest in Florida, and one of the oldest in the country!! You missed a large portion of town on US 129S where we have a bunch of restaurants and more stores!!
My Great-great-grandfather, William H. Rousseau was the State Representative who co-sponsored the legislation that formed Suwannee County in 1858, and then he served as State Senator for the County. He was the Live Oak station agent when the railroad arrived and built the first depot. He grew up in the area and served in the militia during the Second Seminole War.
Moving up from Tampa August 2021. I'd love the Live Oak area for decades always wanted to move. Finally going to be on the Suwannee River. So tired of the population explosion in Hillsborough County. 10000 new homes every year how can it go on
I've been visiting multiple places in FL including the Suwannee since early 2021 (& no stranger to the the Peace river, Southwest FL, Orlando, etc. before then). Most Everywhere in FL is changing, mostly not for the better. It's people like this (& it's not your fault, I too as a life-long 30 year old working class living on my own in Hillsborough (yes I often wonder how I stay sane/ afford this/ remains to be seen how much longer I can put up with this) that give me pause about continuing to fall for Any part of FL. Some parts will probably be spared from sprawl, it's in the general probabilities. But it's Impossible to predict. The nicer/ quieter a place is, the more likely people are drawn to it. Maybe people will leave FL when it becomes an unaffordable barren wasteland as with California, get nicer again, who knows....
My great, great, great, great (maybe one more "great") grandparents on my father's side moved to the Live Oak area shortly after Florida became a state. They came from Ireland through Savanah Georgia. As far as I know there was only cattle ranching.
Sundays are usually slow alot of church goers or chilling at home or on the river. The population is daily growing. The smell was prolly from spraying crops/fields they are everywhere. Many older ones come here to retire. The younger ones who want more out of life def move away. The spirit of the suwannee is wonderful entertainment. Alot of springs in surrounding counties
I currently Live in Tampa Fl, but Live Oak is my hometown, can’t wait to get back to the area. You should of went south 129 to see a little more of the town. It’s quaint & cozy.
Don't tell anyone how great this town is , we like it just like it is . We have everything we need here , including the most polite people in the world . I just moved here and I love it .
A community of rich agricultural land, but only has corporate farms and Publix. People start a weekend farmers market, small restaurants and get your community back from corporate America
I've been studying Live Oak there's lots of restaurants and small businesses. Many many small businesses it's going to be at my new little town I can't wait
You missed the Dunkin Donuts at the truck stop. Across from Walmart was also Zaxbys. The Walmart is several years old. It is a nice slow paced town with great people.
I would have suggested to come into town I 10 to hwy 129. Then go through town heading South. Probably just saw the worst of the town. It's really all about the springs and outdoors here. It's actually a busy little town.
A couple of good Mexican Restaurants and grocery stores, besides that it's McDonald's, KFC, Hardy's and Publix. 1 independent Coffee shop next to post office, very nice
I live here let me tell you only move here if you are retiring or or wealthy enough not to have to work. There are no real jobs here at all!! Yes it is a beautiful area but like I said making a living here is scraping by. The only way you have money here is if you come from it like big family farms. And yes it is still a real "GOOD OLD BOYS" country town and if you aren't one of them you don't matter here. The only flags you see here, besides Old Glory of course, Are Confederate and trump.
You've got to be kidding me!? There's TONS of jobs here!!! You've just got to get out there and go after them!!! They might not be what you want but income is income!!!!
Any town has a hierarchy. I found the "good old boys" are very sensitive to hard work people though, when they see one, they respect them and want them as friends.
That area is great to live. Fl has some killer spots to live. Northern fl is awesome imo I'm born an raised in Naples but live in Lehigh now. Got pushed out of Naples Naples is not for middle class ppl anymore. I hope you are doing alright with what happened the other week. I take it you didn't do anything out of anger cus ur still here glad you didn't do anything out of anger to them ppl.
growing up in NAPLES, i have little tolerance for trashy low life people. I wanna go back so bad to MIAMI.. cuz naples is just not the same. Even lehigh would not be as dangerous as this up here.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS what it's less populated In northern fl then it is down south unless I'm wrong but that don't mean crime isn't high cus there less or more ppl tho
This is so disappointing. You missed 3/4 of the town! Your talking has nothing to do with the town. At least 1 of you could be reading out loud some interesting facts about the town.
I think its not worst than where i lived 20 years by the everglades .. that region isnt as bad as mine. Crap where you are in the 50s were in the 80s down here.
I live in Live Oak. Moved up from Tampa 20yrs ago. We have a small farm. I love it here. My family all moved here which is great.

Thanks for letting us know what the smell is from.
I want to move to that area and info like what you posted is very helpful! Thx.
I am curious about internet access and cell service....I was just in Ocala/Silver Springs looking to relocate....lots of dead spots
I live in live oak to I’m here to grow up and not be exposed to many horrible things and just have a peaceful life
That slew of restaurants and all on 129 north of downtown is just to accomodate everyone coming off I-10

Hi Will. We are escaping Pinellas County. 20 acres of peace and quiet.
I sold my house in Pasco, renting in Polk. Planning on moving to that area too! Between Branford & Live Oak. Away from people.

Do more videos on Central, Southwest, and the Panhandle. Those places are a lot more interesting than those of South and Southeast Florida.
Beautiful small town 🌴❤

This is a very pretty area. If it wasn't too far from the beach it could be a great place to live. Thank you jose.

You don't need the beach when you got the Suwannee. Nothing but good times out there.
It’s about an hour and a half from the beach
