In terms of character development, it made sense for him to want power. His mother was killed by demons. This may have led him to believe that demons are much more powerful than humans and as his mother was a human, he may have seen her as weak. This caused him to embrace his demonic side and learn of the devil trigger at a younger age and also force the two brothers apart. And he did show love for Dante in a sense in that he recognised him as his brother, acknowledging him as family
Who else realizes literally everything Vergil said about humans was true, and that he would have ruled even better than Mundus, potentially improving everyone's lives along the way?
This game has some of the better writing I've seen in a while. The way Mundus speaks about him bringing structure and order to the world really parallels how The Establishment thinks, believing that their order is necessary to keep the humanity in line by manipulation, poisoning through media, enslaving everyone through debt.... Great Job Ninja Theory!

And dante and him just fell apart, even in the original dmc u can tell their was a brotherly love even tho they hated each other, they worked together, didnt really kill each other and ultimately vergil and dante had a sad sweet parting when vergil fell into hell. I think this dmc is perfect to be honest.

Lady is a human, and was still considered a boss battle in DMC against OLD DANTE. She's earned her part with the big boys. Nero fought Dante when he only had his main weapons, and Dante was takin' it REAL easy.
Let's at least make sure to blame capcom for being stupid and not ninja theory for something they ultimately had no control over, though they did not handle negative comments / reviews well i will admit that
i felt kinda awkward at 3:08 where he screams in agony and pain because at dmc 4, nero impaled dante with rebellion straight at his chest and mr. dante didn't even gave a fuck about it.

I dislike the fact that Mundus has the personality of a sadistic psychopath. It would be better if he barely spoke at all, and was completely mysterious like a god should be. If dante had injected him with a chemical that dumbed him down, then the sadism and antisocial behaviour would be more understandable. I think Mundus' true personality should be like that of a ring-wraith - not saying a word, so you can't possibly tell what his intention is. Like The Blair Witch - you can never see or hear her, but her presence is all around you - that's what makes a god so scary. Same thing with The Wendigo in Pet Sematary - it cannot be seen or heard, but its dark presence is manifest in the creatures who are resurrected at the ancient indian burial ground.

Big missed opportunity for Devil May Cry 5, the OG Mundus said he'd return, and it would be quite the twist him appearing just after Dante and Vergil cut off the Qliphoth, and have a climatic final battle with the Bigger Bad himself.

I think majority of fans can agree Mundus in this game had a more developed personality the conversation he had with Dante is almost philosophical as a whole.

It is not a prequel, it's an alternate take. Think The Amazing Spider Man movie compared to the 2002 one (only with less similarities). This new Dante is actually older than Dante was in DMC3.
I prefer the original series! I will always do! Vergil was portraid so much better...but I have to say is so good to see them fight togheter. I just wish Dante could save him. He didn't even try in this game. In DMC3 he tried till the very end. ;(....I miss vergil.

In my headcanon, Mission 19 was the last mission...cause Mission 20 felt as tacked on as Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Big missed opportunity for Devil May Cry 5, the OG Mundus said he'd return, and it would be quite the twist him appearing just after Dante and Vergil cut off the Qliphoth, and have a climatic final battle with the Bigger Bad himself.

Very realistic and believable.
I think majority of fans can agree Mundus in this game had a more developed personality the conversation he had with Dante is almost philosophical as a whole.

It is not a prequel, it's an alternate take. Think The Amazing Spider Man movie compared to the 2002 one (only with less similarities). This new Dante is actually older than Dante was in DMC3.
Post DMC 5 anybody? They really should continue this story line. It really isn't too hard to distinguish

I prefer the original series! I will always do! Vergil was portraid so much better...but I have to say is so good to see them fight togheter. I just wish Dante could save him. He didn't even try in this game. In DMC3 he tried till the very end. ;(....I miss vergil.
Hopefully we'll see Dante and Vergil go off against Mundus....in an actual DMC game
