Man, oh man do I have a NUMBER of suggestions for Ryu😅
    Ryu
Assist a - hadoken/Shakunetsu (faster, big priority multi hitting fireball)
Assist b - shoryuken/hado shoryuken (just like in Mahvel 3, but it comes up a little faster)
Assist c - tatsu/shinku tatsumaki (travels shorter distance, but more damage, OTGs)
    Mechanics (pick one)
SF II mechanic: can stun enemies if perform a certain combo or amount of damage
SF III mechanic: taunts can permanently improve damage in small amounts
    SF IV mechanic: focus attack/feint
    SFV mechanic: V-shift, v-reversal
SFVI mechanic: Perfect parry, drive rush, drive impact
    COMMAND NORMALS:
Senpukyaku (ground bounce would be good. Maybe it could just be used as an approach normal)
Axe Kick (can be used as overhead)
    Collarbone break (overhead)
Solar plexus (hits twice and brings Ryu closer to the opponent a little)
    SPECIALS:
Hadoken (solid priority, can be fired at different directions with different inputs, say qcb punch travels at 45°) EX - Shakunetsu
Joudan geri (L version crumples, M and F versions get wall bounce) EX - opponent is thrown across the wall and shows up on the other side of the screen)
Tatsumaki senpu kyaku (when in denjin mode, it works like Akuma's) EX - Shinku Tatsu
Shoryuken (give it a good amount of invencibility in the first frames so it can be a better tool. It make people fall close to him if lands a hit, só u can combo off of it.) EX - Hado shoryuken
Hashogeki/ ex hashogeki throws opponent slightly in the air, creating space for more combos
    Isshin (combo finisher?)
Denjin charge (fast like Iron Fist chi thing)
    Baku hadoken (?)
    Supers:
    - Shinku hadoken (denjin hadoken in denjin mode)
    - Shinku tatsumaki (airborne)
    - Shin shoryuken (with the MVCI feature of him resisting the satsui no gado and doing more damage when health is under 30%)
    - Denjin Renki* ( Ryu becames faster just like in UMVC3, but he also gets some bonus damage, nothing too big, just something to add a little flavor there, his moves gain electric properties when in this mode and also HE DOESN'T LOSE HEALTH FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE SUPER which is not ridiculously short. Let's say it gets the same amount of time Devil trigger does)
SHIN RYU : this install super should be a lvl 3 and its duration should be similar or even a bit longer than Arthur's armor and you can fill meters as it goes (maybe 30% slower than he normally would, but still).
Ryu is able to balance the light and dark side of the hado and can now use moves from both sides when in this state. Ashura senku and all its variations; shoryuken becomes hado shoryuken, he could fire Shakunetsu or denjin (in this case, like in SFV where he charges it).
His supers also change: shinku hadoken becomes metsu hadoken (the color changes to something more like Akuma's beam super), shin shoryuken becomes metsu shoryuken and his tatsu super also goes METSU(!). However, he could only use one super when in this mode without deactivating it. Using two supers would make Ryu lose his focus and leave this SHIN state, losing a bit of health in the process. And YES, if he's on his last pixels, he could die, so it's a high stakes kind of super.

Cool series! I always dig retrospectives like these. And having one for the VS series in particular is really interesting. If you ever do Mega Man, you think you'll include his counterparts Volnutt and MMX in a single video, or would they get their own?
I think UMVC3 Ryu is one of the coolest versions of him. Marvel 1's version is pretty close with the Stance Switching he gets.
Also, I think Ryu's Hop Kick first showed up in SSF2T, but I might be mistaken.
Oh, and Kyle Hebert's name is said as "Aye-Bear" having seen vids of him saying.

    • @TheSeventhForce

@@TheSeventhForceI heard you've mentioned that Street Fighter won't hang with Marvel Characters I think some of them will like Ryu,Akuma Oro,Goken,Gill because think about it Ryu Ken and Akuma has fire power and some of them have electricity because one of Venom's weakness is Fire and Spider Man can be harmed by both fire and Electricity and some marvel characters are Normal Humans like Dare Devil and The Punisher and street Fighter characters are far from week unless it's Dan that is 😂 but Hugo from Final Fight/Street Fighter 3 he had picked up a Simi Truck in Street Fighter 4 Zangief had pulled out a Submarine with all his Strenght in Street Fighter 6 and Balrog Killed an Elephant and E.Honda with the help of Hakkan had destoyed a Giant Comet with this head and for some reason E.Honda had Survived and was OK and in Street Fighter 5 The Street Fighter heroes in the Story all jumped outta a Helacoptor above Building level and was ok No broken bones at all Even Birdie in Street Fighter 5 was blocking Bullets and lived so yeah that some Super Hero super Human Stuff right there and don't get me started with the feats that Akuma did in the series Breaking Islands,Mountains and Tanker Boats and Ryu is taking punches from someone who can do that while in Akuma's base form that is powerfull I can go on and one of how Powerful street Fighter Characters are and also you should make a video about how strong street Fighter character are but yeah I had to inform you on that topic 😂

Honestly I kinda wish form change Ryu came back in MVCI, would've been a nice call back, they could reuse Akuma's assets from MVC3, and it does technically add more characters to the roster in a game where it kind of needed that. (And that remix of Suzaku Castle from CVS1 is an absolute bop) And if I had to say anything about how Ryu plays, he's never a character I go out of my way to play, but I do have a good time when I do, except in smash, he's one of my favorite characters to play in there, there's a reason why I own his amiibo.

  • @kaihedgie1747
    @kaihedgie1747 6 месяцев назад

Bein' a nerd over here but in the UMVC3 section, the new Hado-Shoryuken he got is actually lifted from the Street Fighter II V anime, which was originally Ken's technique, counterpart to Ryu's Hadouken. It was essentially a Shinryuken, but had a variation where he could kick himself off of a wall to charge straight at his opponent.
thing Interestingly enough, that anime treated the Hadouken as a big finishing attack similar to the Kamehameha rather than just a standard projectile to be thrown out, even having a long drawn out charging sequence.

If Fighting Games really had an ambassador, I think you'd have Ryu and Scorpion side by side. They've each been the most popular character of each series. However Scorpion WAS fighting games, even though they tried to make Liu Kang the protagonist in the story, we're talking about the reason people play the games. Maybe younger people who weren't around don't know this, but yeah. Scorpion was the most popular fighting character of the 1990s by kind of a wide margin! The number of Scorpion costumes on halloweens was insane! And them not having him in MK3 cause they wanted to add new characters and shit, and instead having cyber smoke as a secret character Scorpion Spinoff,,, was SO HATED, well, that's why we got UMK3 not long after. Scorpion was the most beloved fighter of the best era of fighting games, he's the king!
