There are more of us than there are of them,Mac.This video is great,I wish there was a video of the entire day here...great cars and competition from the big 3.THank you Robert
I once built a 70 Duster (FOUR SPEED) with a 440 went 9.91 once all the other times 10.18 to 10.20s! I built it right out of the Direction Connection engine manual a 0.30 over 440 ARP everything Ported the heads myself 312 .590 soiled cam oversize valves Crower Roller rockers 4.56 rear. Was a 8/34 42 housing it came apart after the first summer of racing it and driving it on the street so I put a Dana 60 in it problem solved. In those days you could actually call the pros for advice Bob Lambeck gave me the advice on the heads. Herb Mccandless helped me with the shifting dept getting the trans to shift faster take out the synchronizers grind off every other tooth and shorten the ratio in the Z arm for the clutch linkage. Ended up using a drive shaft out of a 69 Imperial had it shortened for the Duster kept twisting the other ones in half and always Dana U Joints everything else was junk then. One more thing I want to say I used a Thermoquad Carburetor think it was a 850 CFM or the 1000 CFM anyway took a while but got it to run perfect on for you older people used a Offenhauser Port-O-Sonic intake glued the popsical sticks in it myself LOL no joke that's what the manual said to do now I got to build another one got the bug again anyway great video that old Dart looks good going down the track and you got the chassis perfect leaves hard.
Some of these folks must be living under a rock... asking how a 440 is this quick?? Really?? It's not that hard to make a 440 fast.. I mean I've seen 440 darts run mid to low 10s with factory iron heads... put aluminum heads on and low 10s... we have a 73 cuda with a 360 small block, non stroked, all steel body, runs 10.4s... with factory iron mopar r/t magnum heads with a little work, 3 angle valve job, 2.08 valves, if I put my 440 in it, with similar work, no doubt it will run low 10s/high 9s
I've seen stroked 360 darts do high tens. Some people underestimate what things can do, and I appreciate it. Because it keeps parts from becoming "popular and in demand" and therefore more expensive. That's what a lot of Mopar guys love is the popularity of hemis and the vast availability of 360s haha
I wish someone had a video, or a class of REAL street cars! by that I mean, running full interior. no nitrous, or forced induction. and above all, REAL TREADED street tires! this "street outlaws" is shit! just promods outright, or cars that technically have a vin #, but are basically promods themselves. I really miss the good ol days, when we raced real cars on real tires. do that, then we'll see who REALLY has the fastest STREET CAR! anyone can slap on a set of funny car slicks, and a trans brake. it takes a real car builder to hook up on treaded tires
Mopar madness,awsome badass car.we drove to high school in a 68 dart,440 4speed.miss those days.awsome video,enjoy the car
AWESOME CAMERA WORK... LOVE THIS 68 DART !!!
Love this Video! Id rather watch wheel up, 9-10 second cars all day than watch 1/8th mile 4 second cars. Guess im just old school...

CLIMBING THAT RING GEAR ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON,this is how you do not waste youth

What's the engine specs? I got a dart I'm putting a 440 in
wheels would look good with a flat anodize [Black or Bronze in color] Add some Armor glass, touch up some of the body work.I love the car
How do you make such power with a 440 only
Not that hard to get a 440 in the 10s...
super easy actually if you have the right gear ratio and suspension.
Is this really a 440 cause it is amazing? We need to call this the bike killer
ok thanks
simply rippling.
This was my first car
I agree with Mac B.
Actually that car should be running quicker times! At least it's consistent 😎
Nice! Check out our 440 Duster
