@@RFedykdid I see a video of a Fairlane,just like this with a 289 that would pull wheelies and deliver the mail..or was I dreaming ? Boy do I love them Ford's I was born in 66 . 🔥🌞🍊
Used to have one of those beauties. Mine was midnight blue, white vinyl top. Not a dragster, but had a lot of fun with it pretty much Rock-Stock with it's solid cam 302 4BBL take from dads wrecked '68 Mustang. Man what a ride that was! This one here? simply amazing! Love the clean design, brute power, consistent times it runs, and the total "lack" of decals and stickers is pretty awesome! 10********** for sure!
My dad had one in 1968 when I was born it was a white hardtop 4door family car he traded it in 72 for a Oldsmobile cutlass and drove us up to Virginia from Louisiana I loved that fairlane I was 4.
Back in 1990 in my hometown, we were hanging out at the local Albertsons parking lot when I saw this exact model year, all white, tubbed, camming all to hell, he cruised right by maybe 2-3 mph...my jaw dropped. Since then I’ve been hooked. Absolute beast!!!! The good old days🇺🇸
Only a fool refuses to appreciate the power and sound of an engine of *any* make. I drive a Chevy right now while my heart is Mopar but I'm not a moron so I will happily say that's a mean beast of a car that sounds as awesome as it looks and runs.
If I remember correctly - my friend owned a 68 427 Fairlane. He had his buddies mod the car in 1971. A Dr. of Motors and a master mechanic rebuilt the engine, tuned it a bit and lo and behold- out rolled his car, just over 700hp in '71. That freakin' car would be sideways off the light, getting rubber in 3rd. This snarling monster reminds me a lot of my friends car. What a angry creature this one is, what a beauty!
I’m a Mopar guy but you got to love these mid-late 1960’s Fords, absolutely beautiful and to run 9.20’s with no need for wheelie bars (not even close to needing) that car is very well setup nice car.
That chassis is tuned so sweet! It launches just so nice! That slow mo shot showed the way a race car should launch! Driving it on the street lets you test the suspension and get it adjusted right the way you want it!
I'm 64. I have always loved the Fairlane (except the "65). I prefer the '66 to the '67, and the '64 Thunderbolt is a thing to behold. All of that being said, this one beautiful, nasty, mean, growling machine.
Ridiculous... just about as close to engine heaven as I have ever been. This car is one of my favorites in its class. There is a 1964 Fairlane on TouTube with a 585 Stroker. You really MUST see it. ruclips.net/video/VDIdGpaclR0/видео.html

Love these videos. When I show them to my Chevy buds who still think the sbc is the only good engine out there. It quickly has the desired effect. WTF, that is a screamer. Over the years, after seeing the Ford's run several have sold their GM cars and opted for a SBF or a BBF. And to date none of those who bought Fords have gone back to the GM junk. lol True that!
Just about everything with this car seems right. The way it looks, sounds and runs. Nice, clean, straight. Big smile..
yes I've got another video on here with his Fairlane called Fairlane Fever with a pic of the engine bay and on board camera going down the track
@RFedyk another awesome video by you 👏

Damn! This is so great! Got the speakers cranked up and going nuts watching this. Bad ass Fairlane! Ford Power!
DAMN! 9 sec. passes in a streetable car! (take slicks off, put on street tires, drive it home!) This is why the Ford 427 is legendary.
It's a 289! - Clearly says that on the front fenders @ 2:50
RollYourRock actually a 400 small block Ford
RollYourRock a 289 can’t run a nine second quarter mile, I have a 66 fairlane 289

@@jamesgeiger4795 Yeah, maybe an updated 289?
Love that car. Had one in the late 70s. 390ci port and polished. Wish I still had it.
A wonderful car!! Fast, clean, and it runs straight, no BS. Great video of well done rocket.
