Does this video apply to summer internships? because from the title I thought you meant that if you don’t have a summer internship yet, it’s getting too late, though I didn’t hear you talk about summer internships, only spring ?

I don't understand how to secure it as an international student in US. They have so many prerequisites. It's just so disheartening.

Find ppl who run a small Financial firm in the US that are from your country and network and convince them to pay u with gift cards (visa, Amazon, Google play, etc.). It's been done before and hard to trace

It's prob too late tbh. I heard back recently and they said no. I would network with more employees if u haven't heard back yet, or just spend ur time at another firm since it's prob too late

Hi Afzal love your videos and think they give a lot of value. I was hoping you could give me some advice. I’m a first year finance graduate at a mid sized company on a scheme where I will have three rotations and hopefully obtain CIMA by the end of it. I was wondering if you have any idea if it’s possible for me to still get into IB after. And if so what strategic moves would you recommend to make this a realty

Hey man, im currently on a placement and I didn't secure mine till june so don't worry if you don't have one yet. just keep on applying and ask for feedback on your applications if you get rejected so you can improve in the next one. It is also a numbers game so try to apply to as many as you can. there are many websites where companies list their placement openings so look on them. good luck ik how tough it can be

I got an offer for operations internship at jpm but I've no clue whether to take it. I was hoping I could taste the field of finance (front office) before I graduate to see if I would like to pursue it as a career because I got interested in it through your videos and further research but I fear that since it is not in my major and I got a back office role that is not as developmental or esteemed as a front office role it would suck not being able to graduate and start in the front office and my time could be better used for an internship related to my major. The way I see it idealized is: operations intern followed by front office( securities, ib, asset management, etc.) offer if I'm lucky, second scenario: a major based internship, and the scenario im trying most to avoid is operations ft offer after completing the internship. Also I don't want to even consider operations full time because it is pretty hard to switch out based on other online posts.
Should I accept or reject opinions appreciated.
Btw I'm new to finance so if I made an incorrect assumption 4give me and I'm open to corrections thanks.

Take the offer, get some experience of the corporate world. If you don't want the job after your internship then dont take it. Worst thing that happens, is that you have JPM on your CV, and you tell your next employer that you gave it a go, but ops wasn't for you.
