Muy interesante el Canal de Panamá que esta ubicado actualmente en mi país, realmente es una grandiosa historia y la manera en la cual se creó, resaltar que murieron muchísimas personas por estas construcciones pero que son muy beneficiosas para los países y para los panameños.
They are just waterways. Their importance is mostly valued by those who live near them and use them most. Remember, we are all people of the world who make our lives on top of the dirt of the planet. Anything we have while we are alive we cannot take with us when we die. Our most important possession is the love we have with our family, friends and neighbors. God Bless You.
@@BigJeremyBeyer Hmmm, seems its not a canal at all. It would be the puppy ship channel. Canals generally have Lochs, The Houston ship channel does not. Panama CANAL does. But i am no expert. Also, a canal is man made, by definition, the Houston ship channel is not. The Packery (ship not puppy) channel in Corpus Christi Texas doesnt have lochs either. NOTE: Donnie Palmer is correct, it is the Houston Ship Channel. Have a nice day.
In my humble opinion these canals and waterways are really taken for granted under valued under used and not used to their full potential if they were previously used in the past for various tasks then surely they could be used again today converted or made useful in some ways perhaps for delivery or taxi etc..
Northwest Passage is not a canal. If it is, then the Northeast Passage qualifies too. As we speak, Russia is building the Artic Silk Road and a $110 billion Artic megaport is 80% completed. On cities with canals, there are a few much older cities in China which have longer canals and have more tourists annually than Venice. And why no mention of the St.Lawrence Seaway canals?
This is really interesting, some of this canals are still being use, some are not, but the real question i ask, how many lives were lost in the build of all of them, i know about Panama Canal because there is where i'm from but knowing that some of them aren't being use and the lives were lost for nothing is really sad. But it's educative to know about all of them, helps learn about the world of before, how they did things and the hard work this must have been.
Agreed! The canals drove the Industrial Revolution, and the vastness of the network. 4700 navigable miles with 2700 miles being part of the “connected” system.
At least if you're going to talk about something get the pronunciation correct in the Federated States of Micronesia the island of pohnpei doesn't sound like the city of Pompeii that sounds like pom pay and the island is pronounced pon a pay.
I find it odd that until the climate change allowed for a real possibility of opening the NorthWest Passage there was no issue with anyone over Canada claiming the waterway as part of it's territory. As soon as it became a real possibility it was claimed to be an international waterway just to deny any economic benefit to Canada who would have to provide rescue services and bear the brunt of environmental cleaning if any incident requires it.
It's about money. Companies don't want to pay extra costs for ships going anywhere they don't have to. None of us are different trying to save on shipping fees.
@@lyfewithpiglet582 I would rather not have Canadian taxes spent on the cleanup from wrecks there for ships going elsewhere and just using the route. Having it as Canadian waters means fees for use and those fees reduce the tax dollars needed to clean messes. Either way, Canada will have to clean up from any messes when it's used.
Very educational and informative but it is most unfortunate that the information about the Suez Canal is incomplete hence incorrect since it was first built and used by the great Persian King Darius the great and used to attack Greece by passing the Persian navy through it to reach Greek islands on the Mediterranean Sea. I hope this is helping to complete a very comprehensive video.
Always these people in the comments just spouting how everything he says is wrong is stupid. Just watch the video it is visually stunning. Same with the people who feel the need to spell check everyone it’s so annoying.
Canal Travelling is Odd, But To Have Such Plan is Serious Freedom but Like a Stunt Due to Risk(What Urgency Was It?). A Cruise in a Tight Area(Soil/Sand) is the Risk. Where is 5mins 17s, who created it?
Sorry America and the other nations disputing it. The north west passage does pass primarily in Canadian sovereign waters in most places. I’m quite sure the stretch that travels off the north coast of Alaska is certainly considered American. So with that said open those cheque books shipping companies !
Small correction here: The expression Venice of the North, or Dutch Venice or Hollands Venetië (in Dutch) is not user for Amsterdam, but for the small village of Giethoorn. This is a small village that actually has no roads at all, but needs the canals for transport of goods, people and life stock.
why not show Houston's skyline. You showed Austin, Texas skyline and the Colorado river (200 miles from the coast). Houston has the tallest and 2nd tallest buildings in Texas and a striking skyline. Show us more then (completely landlocked) Dallas and Austin.
May I point out that while you are talking about Romanian Communist regime you show pictures of the Hungarian House of Parliament in Budapest, and Hungary's famous Chainbridge. Although Hungary and Romania are neighbouring countries they are not the same! Budapest and Bucarest are not the same!!!! They are capitol cities of two different countries!

Good Day Friend,
Very nice Water Way in the World Thank you for Sharing this video Take care Always God bless you and your Family.
If mankind gave as much money to irrigation and canals as it does to war, what a great world it would be.
Hi
100% agree!!
how....can you omit the Welland canal?

How did they dig these canals by hand in the old days? That is that most unimaginable amount of labor possible.
Especially Northwest passage
Very engaging and interesting thank you 👍
Neat picture, happen to be a lady with very long hair? I find that very attractive, please describe it?
Suez is the most important canal in the world.
They are just waterways. Their importance is mostly valued by those who live near them and use them most. Remember, we are all people of the world who make our lives on top of the dirt of the planet. a perfect list of places i'll never go see, and never will
As a native Houstonian, it's known as the Houston Ship Channel. I've never heard the phrase "Houston Canal"
Golly gee, since they didn't say "ship", I thought it was the Puppy Canal!
🙄

It's not called the Houston Canal it's called the Houston Ship Channel. Or it's original name Buffalo Bayou
Nit pick much?
We have Eerie Canal passing through Rochester , from Buffalo to Hudson River covering 364 Miles
Then there is the Welland canal.
Great Document
In Norway they built a water tunnel through a mountain for Cruise Ships to avoid the extreme weather in the coast line.
you definitely missed st lawrence system and the welland canal.
Lol I just mentioned the welland canal.

Did you forget all about the Erie Canal?
Wonderful human canals

I argree that putting the Northwest Passage as #1 on this list is too much of a stretch. In actual reality Suez is #1.
Well, the title does include “waterways” as well.
@@jjwwqq The Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans are "waterways" too. All water surfaces are technically "waterways".
Amsterdam is not the venice of the north that is Giethoorn
I thought it was Bruges.
mani bhai - Lahore District, Punjab, Pakistan

I think the most active canal in the world is the Ear Canal. It is shared by every human and animal that has an ear to hear.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 never thought of that one. Thanks for the laugh just what I needed today. God bless you 🙏
Ha ha for a second there, I was thinking you misspelled the Erie Canal 😂
It's actually called The Houston Ship Channel. I'm from there and nobody calls it the "Houston Canal".
I was just thinking that. I was in first and second grades when we lived there, with the ship channel just across the bayou.

What about the canal system of the UK. Maybe the best network of any country with canals. And maybe the oldest.

I lived in Houston so many years and didn't know that was a canal. I thought it was a natural river

So you would rather Canada be responsible for the ship wrecks? Do you know how many ships and lives have been lost near Canada?

I'm not impressed by the German pronunciation; and Venice has "gondolas" with stress on the first syllable..
It's sad that some of these canals are nothing but BIG open SEWERS .
The information in this particular video are not accurate. So many mistakes. Hope you can do your job and research better in your future contents.
