Clearly, two of the best mandolin players around. My DREAM CD would be a collection of duets by Ms. Hull and Mr. Steffey playing great tunes like this. It would be an instant classic and permanent record of the state of mandolin playing in the early 21st century. Is there anyway we could entice them to do this? It's easy, I know to suggestion such a thing...they would be doing all the work, but it would make a lot of people very, very happy!!!! I LOVE these guys
Heard a few Versions of this ditty on RUclips, but this Master and Jr Master of their instruments Shows how sweet this tune can be on the Mandolin, to a point that I think the tune works better here than on most fiddle versions out there
I was at Rivercity for that. Adam was just finishing a workshop and Sierra was coming in to do her workshop at the festival. Awesome performance, not planned, not rehearsed, they just ripped it up. It was at like 9 AM so neither one of they were used to being up that early :P
I love this tune, I know it as a fiddle tune called Chinquapin. I like their chords G and A the second part, and the G maj 7 sounds great . I learned it as I heard it in old time jamming, and in that version the second part begins with the chord Em and then it is similar. Very nice tunes here.
More I watch this the more amazing their playing seems. Some of us can only dream of playing half as well, and we'd be satisfied. Just an amazing performance (notwithstanding Steffey's tiny stumble).
I feel like Adam Steffey doesn’t get nearly enough credit by the general bluegrass fandom for basically inventing the modern style of mandolin playing
Two of the best mandolin players. We love this video.

My favourite pair on the planet. Ever.

Wow! they both sound great
Brilliant. Love this sound.

I’m learning this today right now
They aren't just running scales. This is a song. It sounds like a song. It doesn't sound like exercise.
they were having a great time .
The big and the small (or the long and the short) of primo mando playing!!!
I counted 35.. but who's counting? Steffey is amazing. I think his stage name should be BOB!
Both absolutely insane pickers... I like Adams style better, but Sierra's tone is incredible. Its a level playing field.
Great job, this doesn't sound like Chinquapin Hunting, atleast not the Chinquapin Hunting I know
Adam has put on a pound or two..............
@mandobryn take that back.Sierra ain't heavy.you meanie.
Is Adam o.k. or has he just been eating well ?
they are awesome players but they run scales like a dog chasing a deer, thats real sad they can play the tune but want. running scales is not music
probably didn't like that an 18 yr old girl was better then him !!! lol
Up to this day she’s better than him
