I have this wing. It really is a thrilling little plane. It flies smoothly, fast and slow. It shrugs off crashes and is just a ton of fun to fly. The only downside is that it's really loud.
Ha, ha very nice. Would you believe I just finished putting mine together this evening and thought I would check my tablet before going to sleep and wow, there you are flying my new aircraft! Beautiful, how neat is that. Yes I will lower the throws as you did I thought they were a little extreme too. This is my first wing, so thanks for the great demo and suggestions. What a fun hobby. Happy Flying
Please can you measure the distance between the 2 CG points on the underside of the wings please? I'm waiting for my AR Mini wing to arrive from banggood and in the meantime I want to design and print a CG balance stand for it. Many thanks.
Thank you so much @@AndrewNewton , I can go ahead and finish my design. It's nothing special, but I'm just now learning to tinker with some 3D software for my printer. Thanks again, and thanks for the sub. I've been out of the game for a while, but I've got some projects incoming so expect a few videos these coming months at least.
It's actually well behaved and makes a ripping little FPV flier. But it's best not to overload it, I haven't had any problems but friends have crash due to tip stall spins with more weight.
Hello and greetings Mr Newton Firstly, as always, awesome video and awesome work with attention to specific details that are required for some of us beginners out there. Secondly, I have a question regarding flight times through cruising only, and what have you or anybody else reading this have achieved on which lipo/li ion (1 pack) batteries ? My reason is that I am not a fast flyer (yet) and I enjoy long flight times at cruise speed for a few kilometers. I have this Ar mini wing but not built yet, still in the box. I have two other types of fixed wings that keep me going so I am ok as I still fly, but I would like to know what max flight time is achievable on this ar mini wing at cruise, or what setup can get those long flight times?
Great wing my favorite courtesy of Andrew Newtons videos I have had successful flights will run on a 1550 3s that's all I had but worked great 4s is a absolute blast
I try fly with stabilize (inav 2.0 on Matek F411-Wing, pretty well fit in there wing and many space have after that). Same twitchy. Continue try to find the way how stabilize this wing...
SONICMODELL-Mini-AR-Wing-600mm-wingspan... i just bought myself a fixed wing and i seen one of your videos too i was already planning on doing osd and rth i bought the flight controller you said to buy and im going to try to use inav i have drones on beta flight that i bought and i have connected gps to uarts on them i cant wait to play with inav on a fixed wing
They stopped giving hard leading edge now, it's just a sticker and it's a pain in the A as it won't stay stuck! I'm going to use duck tape or something and hope it helps!
@@AndrewNewton are all the little "brush" bits all over the surface just part of the molding process or to help with airodynamics/wind resistance or something?
Be careful with using too much of duct tape, I had some experience, it is a heavy super strong tape, if you use a lot, it adds a few grams to the total weight of the fixed wing. Use very little as possible, small strips on the vulnerable spots of the fixed wing. Do a weight check of before and after using duct tape on the fixed wing, you'll then know how much more weight you've added.
That Mimi AR Wing , Looks great and assembles easily ..... but it Flies like chit ! ..... For FPV ? ... I don't think so ....... What's the Cheapest , Smoothest flying Wing or Plane ?? .... I only can afford to buy One ! .......Cheers !

Good luck, it's a little ripper
Thats pretty cool. keep up the great videos
how much is the plane?
Way to hang onto it in that wind, you were really winging it.....sorry, couldn't resist ;-) Looks fast! Happy Flying!

20cm exactly between the centres of the CG marks. Great little wing.

Just ordered one of these tonight. Well done video. Seems like a spicy little beggar :)

I can't wait to get one
I won't be swapping it for my Z84, its too small........but the larger AR wing is a keeper for sure.

Well over 30min cruising with a 3000mAH 2S Li ion

What? No slope soaring?
Might struggle, we shall see
Seems maybe a tad twitchy for enjoyable FPV. Would a stabilizer help calm it down a bit?
Probably yes, but a calmer day would help too.

@@0915923465 I don't think there's a solution. Wings - especially small - are twitchy. Either accept it or fly in dead calm weather
Hi, if I use 4s battery how many gram ar wing can carry?
No idea, try asking here www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2925482-Sonicmodell-AR-Wing-FPV&highlight=sonic%20AR%20wing
@@AndrewNewton okey, thanks
Can you gives us some Amps consumption numbers please?
On the bench 13A full throttle, cruise speed 3 to 5A at a guess
does it fit around with Firefly Q6?
Not enough space for an HD camera

It ain't no rocket if you're not going to give it some stick!!
Rather good considering the conditions. Nearly a park-flyer but possibly a bit quick.
At some point you'll probably slope it ;)
I'll give I a try but it might be too small for sloping

Bixler 2 or C1 Chaser wing
Haha twitchy little beggar! can only fly them fast! great vid :-) thanks for sharing
Calm day required but good fun anyway
Looks like fun but had no success with wings. One I want when I have a bit more experience. You make it look easy.
Wrong conditions for this one but certainly fun
First Woohooo
I have one coming in the mail 🖖
Excellent, that makes three
Why Sonic Model AR is better then S800, I considering buy S800 for fpv
Both are fine but the AR wing is smoother and can fly slower
Yeah I agree, ar wing is defo better. A lot more room inside for gear as well. Just nicer all around.
you gave me food for thought, so I'll look for AR wing
