My GOD this episode was WONDERFUL. D&D! Richard E. Grant! Millie being wonderful. Ncuti and Geoff were incredible together, more chemistry than a technical college. The representation was incredible. And Ncuti singing Wonka made me go full Leo meme, after watching the interviews where he talked about manifesting this role by telling his agent he either wanted to play the Doctor or Wonka. I *adored* this episode.
Aww sorry to hear you had issues with recording your thoughts Liam, but thanks for another fantastic reaction! I especially loved your comments about the D&D reference, the almost-kiss and of course the kiss haha
Rogue's console looked sort of like the TARDIS console... Another reference to a BOSS. More anachronistic music I think we are in an alternate reality and someone is manipulating the Doctor's emotions.
Am I the only one that got 1985 Prince or Morris Day vibes from The Doctor's look and vibe in this episode? The Chemistry was off.the.chain. I'm not in the LGBTQ community, but I absolutely Loved this episode. Very "classic" Doctor Who type episode but with modern adjustments. For all those who might complain about him enamored with a guy, did you have an issue with Rose? With the Woman in the Fireplace? The woman when the Doctor's psyche was kept in the pocket watch when he battled with The Family? How about that he has a Granddaughter dating all the way back to the First Doctor? If you didn't have issues with them, then your issue is that it's a guy, and as we've seen The Doctor is non-binary and can regenerate into male, female, or something undefined. Rogue is like the Jack Harkness for this Doctor, at least in terms of "vibes," and I hope that he returns. Wouldn't mind seeing him as a Companion or perhaps The Companion for Ncuti's final season for example. Very interesting character. The "bad guys" are ok, but beyond this one episode I'm not sure if we need to see them again. But yeah, this episode is a 10/10 from me.
I see it! I was also reminded of the dance scene in the Torchwood episode “Captain Jack Harkness” with the lighting blocking out everything else and them being all alone on the dance floor
Why on Earth was this not the first episode of the season?? "Space Babies" is generally regarded as terrible, and "The Devil's Chord" is divisive. This would have made a much, much better intro. I suppose it would draw focus from Ruby, but the first episodes imo should emphasize the Doctor more anyway, and I think this episode highlights the Fifteenth Doctor better than almost any other episode so far.
Well they can't really have Barrowman back can they - "That's just John being John" isn't really justification for exposing himself and pressing his naked genitals against crew members against their will.
This episode was fluff RTD and disney have really screwed the Doctor's character up he is an a-sexual alien why did he go that route just to put in a message.
You do know the doctor had children and a granddaughter right? Alien... yes. Asexual... maybe on the spectrum but not sexless. Non romantic... definitely not at least since the 1999 movie.

The chemistry! My god, the freaking CHEMISTRY!!!
He caught the bouquet and he put on the ring. In my mind The Doctor is engaged. :)
Wouldn't have been the first time...or the third come to think of it 😆
@@xedalpha1i mean you live long enough its going to happen
They were full on Bridgerton here with the modern instrumental music. And the scandalous romance. Loved this episode. Their banter was incredible.
Favorite episode of the era thus far
I swear I was shouting "Kiss him!" every 5 minutes.
I feel like we all were wanting the kiss
Ngl I did say 'and then they kiss?' at least once 😆
I didn't. This is not Dr. Who this is Soap Who.
@@joshuaverran9443 you must've loathed the David Tenant era then

The scene of the Doctor lip-syncing Kylie is replaying nonstop in my head.
I love how Ruby was cosplaying as a Chuldur cosplaying as herself!
He had the same response as Luke on SJA. He recognized the Tardis as dimensionally transcendental.
Nikola Tesla said the same?
@@reniljoseph2261 yeah he did say the same
Yeah people who have an idea about the science don't usually say the bigger on the inside line lol.
So season two, mission "Find Rogue"! I LOVE Rogue and the Doctor together, beautiful chemistry!
i choose to believe Richard E Grant means Curse of Fatal Death is cannon :D
Say hello to the Sofa of Reasonable Comfort
@@LiamCatterson "I'll explain later" *never explains later*
Nah imma say it means The Shalka Doctor is canon
Fun whimsy historical. Solid 8/10. Loved the sound design, costumes and Rogue himself was cool. Ncuti too was on fire, he just had so much fun
Liam's new haircut is very cute congrats
Jonathan Groff is always good so I really want him back, find him doctor!!
Thank yooou

Random question, just for my own research, how old are you?
I love this episode and Rogue. The doctor needs to find him next series.

Thanks for a great reaction to a fantastic episode. 🫶
yh it was richard e grant the shalka dr is canon🥰🥰🥰
He is so a recasting of/for a young Captain Jack Harkness.
Well not really because it's not Captain Jack is it.

So we are pretending Rose, River, and whoever Susan's Grandmother was never existed then?
