Doctor Who is a long-running British science fiction television series produced by the BBC. The show follows the adventures of a time-traveling alien known as the Doctor, who travels through time and space in a TARDIS, a time machine disguised as a blue police box. The show has had several actors play the role of the Doctor, including Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker, and Ncuti Gatwa who is currently portraying the 15th Doctor. The show has explored a wide range of themes and topics, including politics, social issues, and science-fiction concepts. The show has also introduced iconic villains such as the Daleks. Doctor Who has inspired a large and passionate fanbase, and has been the subject of numerous commentaries, video essays, and retrospectives. This paragraph is absolutely just to get some tags into the description. Hope you enjoy the video though. #Justinfication
Great! Now go straight to "The Empty Child" & "The Doctor Dances"
A good option FR
@@JustinficationActually a banger suggestion, especially Jack, and then go onto rogue haha, they'd probably see the similarities straight away icl
I like the idea of doing two episodes from each doctor.
We've had two of newest who season, now we could go 2 from 9, 2 from 10 (human nature/family of blood?), 2 from 11, 2 from 12 (zygon invasion/inversion?), and 2 from 13.
That would actually be great if they hopped around to the best episodes from different doctors
Those are the ones that got me into the show! I had to know how he gets out of that situation of that cliffhanger.
I’d like for them to watch Midnight next, like Blink it’s a great horror episode that stands on its own without leaning into any serie arcs, but unlike Blink the Doctor gets plenty of screen time and the threat of the episode directly interacts with him. Plus I just think the episode is very well done and does a great job at creating tension from a very simple premise.
Midnight seems to be the popular vote haha!
@@Justinficationno, just watch it properly, they need context. They need to watch a show normally. Not random episodes that’s so dumb
@@obiwankenobi687 bohoo, there are more than enough channels that do exactly that, if you prefer it, go watch them, it's not difficult
@@Justinfication it's an amaaazing episode for Tennant's acting, the other ones that immediately come to mind would be SO full of spoilers, those would actually need context 😅🤣🤣 saying this with Tennant as my favourite Doctor xD
never stop making these videos please, I need to keep following these people's journey into the best TV show in the universe
Haha more to come!
The description of the Doctor as a soul that changes bodies is actually very poetic. It is a great reaction, thank you for bringing your friends to DW!
Thank you for watching haha, more videos on the way!

I believe the "feels like dying" thing was just 10 being overly clingy. He was the "most human" of the doctors arguably, and he developed a very human view of death.
As 11 later says "I had vanity issues."
And 12 "Death is Timelord for man-flu" (though he was coping to excuse the fact that he just murdered someone to Clara).
I personally LOVE 10's take on regeneration, give me the dark drama!
Yes, I think RTD did take liberties with the regeneration explanation with 10. The Doctor is one alien entity who can change appearance as a survival mechanism. The memories are his/her because they are the same but do look different. As Stephen Moffat wrote, Same software different case
Oh, you should definitely go for Midnight! The Doctor's actually in it, it's a total masterpiece, and it's legitimately scary. One of my favourites.
Wow everyone wants midnight haha
you should watch Midnight.
A great one!
Season 4, Episode 10 "midnight"
A lot of people saying midnight!
@Justinfication it's a tense episode since your friends seemed to like that sort of thing. is a good grasp on how the doctor operates without his companion. Especially since the first episode you showed them was a doctor light episode. Referring to "dot and bubble"
The eleventh hour maybe?
if you're watching this on the upload date, comment "happy birthday Fay!" 🎉
(Also subscribe please)
great video, love the choice of episode (and also the choice of writer, moffats writing is the best!)
happy birthday fay! and also, you should show them more episodes written by moffat, especially ones from the matt smith era
I’m late to seeing this comment but THANK YOU!
heaven sent :)
The God Complex or Midnight
feels like i'm watching a cam kirkham video
I know youprobably wont, but consider "The Five Doctors" from classic. Its the 20th anniversary special and crosses over the first 5 Doctors (recasting #1, who died) and shows a bunch of classic enemies. It's like a sampler platter for Doctors!
Please upload some more! This was so entertaining to watch!
Thank you! More on the way!
Gotta show them The Eleventh Hour now to show the effects of regeneration!
Loving their reactions so far, maybe you can start from the 2005 Run and do it sequentially? That will be a great experience too.
You should try making them watch "The Eleventh Hour" or "The Empty Child - The Doctor Dances". I know this has already been told, but hey
The unquiet dead
The unicorn and the wasp
The beast below
Mummy on the orient express
It takes you away
It'svrandom, not the one that is considered peak, but it's good~
Yes!! I love It Takes You Away!!!! Best episode of Series 11 to me.
Eleventh Hour is a good one. Let them see a new Doctor in his first story.
(Ten's first story is good, but has a lack of the Doctor being in it).
ok how about
Ecclestone: Dalek - plus Born again (to introduce regeneration properly)
Tennant: School Reunion
Smith: The Dovtors Wife
Capaldi: Twice upon a Time
Jodi: Nicolas Tesla's n8ght if terror
14: The Giggle
........
Tom: Genesis of the ....
Just one episode - The Impossible Planet. Bonus: you won't need to ask what to watch next.
First time viewer, came from your other video of dot and bubble, I’d love it if you showed them episodes from my personal favorite Doctor, 12. I think deep breath would be a good starter for him but I could see the pilot also being a good starting point. I just really like the 12th Doctor. I would’ve suggested world enough and time and the doctor but like you need to watch 3 entire serieses to get the impact from it
I LOVE peters doctor and do plan to show them one of his just picking which one haha
@@Justinfication can’t go wrong with deep breath
I think they should watch Time Heist next, I think it’s a pretty fun episode!
Edit: Really good job on getting this much footage without getting copyrighted!
The Giggle (this has Ncuti Gatwa and David Tennant so if they don't want to watch one with Nucuti Gatwa then other ones) The End Of Time Parts 1 and 2.
i think a really cool episode to show them would be vincent and the doctor, an episode that's more formulaic to doctor who but still fantastic by itself
Potential episodes to show them; "Rose" (where it all began), Dalek, The Empty Child/Doctor Dances. Gridlock, Human Nature/Family of Blood, ALL OF SEASON 4, The Eleventh Hour, Vincent and the Doctor, Night Terrors, The Mummy of the Orient Express, Under The Lake/Before the Flood, Oxygen, Demons of the Punjab, It Takes You Away, Eve of the Daleks.
3 stories from each New Who Doctor, they're all pretty much standalone stories and only two of them feature "iconic" Doctor Who villains and it's just the Daleks on both cases
edit - to get rid of the Daleks entirely you could replace Dalek with Fathers Day and Eve of the Daleks with Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror
"Human Nature" and "The family of blood" are great episodes to watch. If new then maybe "73 Yards"
midnight cmon, another doctor heavy ep just like boom was
It’s late but hAPPY BIRTHDAY FAY
I really wanna throw Father’s Day into the ring, haven’t seen it mentioned yet, even though it’s more companion focussed! “Vincent and the Doctor” would be my Matt Smith pick for sure, and “Midnight” is obviously another classic. And there are so many other greats, but obviously a lot of them rely on overarching plots or established character dynamics (like watching “Amy’s Choice” or “Turn Left” wouldn’t be as great without context). “Thin Ice” for another great/less popular choice, but also backing the “Empty Child/Doctor Dances” rallying!
happy birthday Fay
This is peak toomfoolery
you really DO need to watch a few 'classic' episodes, try 'genesis of the daleks', 'the green death', 'earthshock', to start with , then the first episode, 'an unearthly child'
'Midnight'
'Flatline'
Maybe 'Hell Bent' if you don't think they need the context?
'Silence in library/ Forest of the dead'
If they'd be down for a 2-parter then Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead would be a good one, it's not exactly self contained but it's self-contained enough. Capaldi is my fav Doctor but I'm not sure which episodes of his would be best... Mummy On The Orient Express maybe, Thin Ice is great too, Listen, i might even go for Deep Breath because it gets off to a shaky start but the whole second half is just electric.
E: I'm tempted to say Heaven Sent, but you really need Hell Bent and possibly Face The Raven to go with it, and it's a goodbye finale for Clara, someone who doesn't watch the show and know Clara probably wouldn't get much from those episodes
Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead... Then Dalek... then start Eleven's run!! ...and from Classic show them Terror of the Zygons and Remebrance of the Daleks...
Would love to see their reaction to heaven sent and hell bent.
You should probably introduce them to the 12th doctor first.
0:02
"A british man."
Terrifying.
I know right
Real small thing I don't really like the 10th's explanation of regeneration of it being someone else leaving with your body
I think the 11th was better where he said it's like how people change throughout their lives but the price of regeneration makes that change instantaneous and playing on different parts of his already existing personality (which is how the second doctor described it too)
I was so bad for these people. This is this is competently written sci-fi show with a likable main character, I shudder to think about what they’ve been subjected to their entire lives.
good choice
Thank you!
Agreeing with some commenters that id love to see some older episodes but before you do that, please please please do Rogue! that was my favourite episode of the latest ssries, hands down ❤
73 Yards 🎉
"Watch this next! Watch this next!" Nah just go with whatever next
Late to the party but would be cool to rope in some classic episodes. My rec would be Genesis of the Daleks as it would be a great way to introduce the Daleks and is even seen as a precurser to the Time War. Also a good choice would be War Games as an intro to the time lords and concept of regeneration and my personal fav classic episodes...it's just super long.
Also be sure to get to Dalek and Silence in the Library/Forest of Death to
How about Haven Sent? I feel like it's gonna be a lot to take in without the context, but also, I'm really curious to see what they make of it. It's still a cinematic-level masterpiece and peak Capaldi performence, even if they end up missing some of the nuances.
I have been tempted to show them that one!
I'd love to see a reaction to "Listen"
Show them Wild Blue Yonder, 73Yards
BANGERS. yes I do plan on showing them both of those
Honestly 73 yards is not very good. It's kind of a showcase of RTD's weaknesses as a writer. Still, at his worst he's still better than Chibnall at his best.
You want to show them another Doctor in a standalone scenario that has the Doctor in it more than Blink, I suggest Dalek, Midnight. The God Complex. Time Heist, or Eve of the Daleks.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING FROM SERIES 10! The monk 3 partee would be good so they can see that the show is not this consistently good all the time (Lie of the Land) but it can still make amazing episodes (Extremis, The Pyramid At The End Of The World) etc.
Mummy on the Orient express might be good too though
Everyone is going to say a Tennant episode.
I say show them "Orphan 55", and see what people with no context of the show think to that. (I do unironically love that episode, this isn't purely a troll suggestion)
That would be interesting…
I recommend wild blue yonder with 14 and Donna
Not Fay congratulating the ruthless, cost saving efficiency of Capitalism 😭
Fay is a monster
Will you watch 73 Yards?
If people keep wanting more then yes!
While I do love how you shared/brought your friends into doctor who, what I don't like is how you SPOILED regeneration to them. Its such a big thing to the show, and not knowing what it is adds to the mystery of Doctor who/ The Doctor. They seemed it not know about it at ALL!
I know you are excited to talk to your friends about Doctor who but restrain yourself on answering questions like that, that will ultimately ruin their viewing experience. I say this because; I was lucky enough, to NOT even know regeneration was even a thing! I didn't even know there were other doctors at the time!
I thought in my first time watching it " Wow this Doctor guy is awesome!" (eccleston). Not knowing at the time; that he would change. I found out when Rose found out, and that added to the impact of the scene and the show in general. I cried my eyes out when he regenerated cause I didn't expect it; but now they will expect it, and while they still might cry; it wont have the same impact as going in blind.
That aside you chose some good episodes to start them on, no context needed for either episode, and won't spoil anything for them. I would say though don't show them 73 yards.
While the episode is unique; Its really the only episode I can think of in all of DW that does NOT feel like Doctor who. Thus it would not be a good episode to show them. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I think Eleventh Hour could be fun if you want to show them the aftermath of regeneration. Classic who has some fun stuff but it's definitely a different vibe and I feel like the other regenerations in Nu who aren't necessarily super interesting if you are not as attached to the previous doctor.
If you’re looking for another episode that’s underatted or has a lot of hate. Do kill the moon. It gets a lot of hate but it’s a very enjoyable episode. Imo it’s a lot like dot and bubble as in the hate it gets
If you want a darker episode do mummy on the Orient express, flatline, face the raven, heaven sent or oxygen
If these people like supernatural stuff show them
Under the lake/before the flood
You know them the best so those are some suggestions
erm, ackchually. If The Doctor died in Boom, they'd die permanently because of the DNA bomb.
OH TRUE. nah you got me there
I would like to recommend heaven sent.
If you want to keep to more recent episodes for now though I get it.
I thought about that one I just worry it's a weird one to watch standalone without even knowing Clara?
@@Justinfication
I feel like if you focus more on the doctor's loss and the theme (grief), the episode works as a standalone. Clara's character isn't really relevant to the episode, it's focussed on the Doctor. I do get the hesitancy though, it could go wrong I suppose.
What an amazing episode and I’m so glad your friends are enjoying it! I adore Ncuti as well and I’m so glad they love him so much.
I feel like they need to see slower paced episode with a historical setting, just to kinda balance out against the two they’ve seen already. Unicorn and the Wasp could be a good one, as well as Vincent and the Doctor or Fires of Pompeii. And one with Ncuti could be Rogue
Thank you! We've got a 73 yards reaction on the way shortly then we're looking to show them some other doctors!
73 Yards is kinda the ideal next episode for someone who isn't a sci fi enjoyer. Tho thinking bout it now, you kinda need the established context of the christmas episode
It's looking like Midnight next then 73 Yards!
@@Justinfication Oo great choice.
The eleventh hour
As nobody mentioned 'Blink', at some point maybe show them that?
Also 'Human Nature'.
Unless they decide to watch the 'new Who' series, then don't show them Blink.
Ugh, nevermind 'Blink' if you've seen it, like me, a thousand times, ofcourse watch something else.
'Midnight' and 'the Empty Child/the Doctor Dances', like others mentioned, will do. Though 'Voyage of The Damned' springs to mind also.
Also funny they already are attached to this Doctor, how are they ever going to like any other Doctor... ah, I love the cycle that is Doctor Who. Also do they know that one of those showrunner was also the showrunner of 'Sherlock'?
I did mention that Moffat did sherlock too! Thank you for watching! More on the way!
@@Justinfication I subscribed so I wouldn't miss it.
My favourite episode is Heaven Sent, im not sure if its appropriate for this format however
That's what I thought, a great episode but maybe weird to watch standalone?
@@Justinfication Maybe do World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls? Since you went into regeneration in this reaction, you could actually show them a regeneration next.
I don't know why but Boom kind of bored me. I zoned out a few times and I was like "ok" when it was over, even after a rewatch. I thought Dot and Bubble was such a special episode, blown away by it.
Next one should be Midnight (great bottle episode and lots of Doctor) or maybe the Doctor's Daughter (explains a bit more about the Doctor and shows off TWO great companions), if you are not going to do another one of this series. David Tennant is my Doctor but there's not a Doctor I didn't love in their run and I'm loving this current series with Ncuti although I think there were too little episodes. Steven Moffat era is my least favourite though and I even quit at some point because I couldn't deal with it anymore.
Have fun with whatever you're doing next!
Thank you!
Heaven sent
Midnight
Throw em into The God Complex!!
Love that one!
Turn left
Maybe watch the og stuff
Oof not treating RTD's angst-era explanation of regeneration as the definitive version. You don't need to go into that much detail, just say they regenerate into a new body and personality.
I would say that you should probably show them a more typical episode of Who, not just frontload all the experimental stuff. So not Midnight. The Empty Child/Doctor Dances is a good shout. I would also suggest Smith and Jones, Gridlock, The Eleventh Hour or Mummy on the Orient Express.
RTD's angst-era explanation of regeneration is my FAVOURITE one I love it
@@Justinfication You do you. Personally I consider it to be a deep misunderstanding of the themes and ideas of the show.
Blink next please
The show was always worth going in blind and not always whats the best, favorites, unless intentional details or if people want more writing comparison or more action or more emotional or other variations of concepts in episodes because it can be whatever it wants.
I think dialogue or not sci-fi ones make sense I guess. Like sure the lodger, blink, others with childhood fears maybe. Also 40 minutes of old Nu Who, different lengths of classic and mini series length of streaming service era yeah Boom was just a slog ofdialogue and not a lot going on and being in a small area is interesting to me but in other shows, not Series 14's Boom at all. Ruby could have explored more or Doctor could have tried many things, others bother him but nope just this result...... A theatre play level episode yawn.
It could have been someone else and the Doctor consoling them yes yes typical, or Ruby.
There is a reason Empry Child is much better at conveying the humanity, the virus, but oh it's WW2 and oh a charming character we can't have that in Series 14. We can't have it too dark of history.
But fhe misunderstandings in Boom ferl like a drama/romcom so much excuses to pad it out that aren't compelling but to others are because emotions/simplicity of shock value, yawn.
To me it was weaker of Moffat's writing/visuals to convey anything interesting regardless of the simulation or whatever point made.
I hate midnight but sure for them making a fool of themselves.
Library is better to do the shadows aren't that important but River as backwards to the Doctor is cool and the overly familiar but it is very deep stuff into the show so.
But the computer system aspect of the library I mean, and the fake reality is kind of cool. It's no social network or VR Chat kind of thing or an MMO but still.
I don't know whatever more normal, cheesy I guess works as episode recommendations of the old one.
2024 Who makes sense but it to me is so even as takiiit as a new viewer that ahd seen the past ones is just so but why? To me. Even matt Smith that rebooting type changss in a way were still fair.
I don't know like oh it has to be Riverton but if it were average old times history it would be boring but if it's a tv show referentce/situation and mention of the tv series ok like..... Sure ok. Feels very oh they said ghr popular thing, clip goes viral.
I know RTD did past news or tv show references but I never thought about them that way really.
At least the script isn't too overly dumb then could be. But it does a fair job I guess od similar aspects of child fears, for everyone sort of concept, history at times, sci-fi at times.
Human Nature of course while historical, being more the how the Doctor deals with being human is very interesting. How Martha deals with things.
Beast Below maybe the moral choices if thats even interesting at all to people I don't know.
S1 2005+ a lot is dated of CGI, plastic attacks only goes so far of interesting but essy to understand.
Especially woth online shopping these days beiyso common.
Surprised no Doctor Who shopping episode and whatever work conditions, delivery issues, fhe people, the computers, oh it would be just dot and bubble then probably huh....... Unless some other way to do it hmm.
Anything too much deep thinking on to other things.
I mean dot and bubble is ok compared to the long game being well news and 2005 felatsd fhen 2024 felated of social media nowadays even id it felt rather a not that great lens I think it maybe captured characters well of oh adventure/saving ewww why would we want that. We want to stay in our bubble.
Boom is ok of not showing war, being a very midnight or single room type episodes but I do find it rather dull. I mean fhere is being Disney friendly and there is being not that exciting on acreen or as if theatre and only getting so much across to viewers how they feel, when its a visual medium after all not just an audio medium.
History/deep sci fi ones sure are a bit far.
Also fans passionate for people to get into a show is typical.
People interested will go for it, people not won't. Just watch whatever looks interesting. Same as people skipping episodes on a rewatch.
Enjoyed your previous video on Dot and Bubble and also the various reactions here to Steven Moffat's Boom.
73 Yards is a must watch but it is good to see an episode where The Doctor and Ruby are very involved in the action.
Agree with you about Blink. BTW.
Recommend
Chris Eccleston in Father's Day.
David Tennant in The Unicorn and the Wasp.
Matt Smith in Vincent and the Doctor.
Peter Capaldi in World Enough and Time.
Jodie Whittaker in The Witchfinders.
Oh and Happy Birthday, Fay!!

Would be kinda funny to show them something like Love and Monsters lol
I'd love for you to show them a scary episode, maybe 'The Empty Child'
scary episodes coming up!
Cool. Me watching the gay black doctor standing on a mind for the whole episodes doing nothing but agruing. Seriously...???? I would rather watch Doomsday. Thanks you frickin shills.
gay people are the best man im so glad we can agree on that!!
@alexray03 Is this a bot account-?
@@BuppyBabsTag nope i’m not a bot! i’m just glad to see someone understand how cool it is we get to see a queer and black doctor!!
@alexray03 idk if you understand sarcasm. I don't like his acting and his representation for black and gays is just bad. I'm bis$xual myself and saying this.
Bad writing is bad enough. Show is dead
@@BuppyBabsTag hi i’m also bisexual i disagree?? so far we’ve had a queer love story where the doctor is just casually gay. this is actually great representation as it makes being queer feel normal - think about all those closeted queer kids watching doctor who getting to look at the doctor and say “hey he’s like me” that’s such a special thing!!
What a stupid place for them to start, you want them to LIKE the show, go and do it properly from series 1 in 2005. Dont jump around to random episodes with zero context. Especially not the 2024 rubbish
erm okay buddy 🤓☝️
@@Justinfication but it’s true though, I don’t get how you can ask people to get into and actually enjoy a show at any point other than the beginning. You can’t just plonk them in front of favorite episodes like doomsday, blink, waters of mars, good man goes to war etc etc and expect them to be wowed and blown away with zero prior context of anything that is happening.
If you want to get someone into a show, just watch it properly from the beginning, I don’t understand why this is so hard or such a bizarre concept?
@@obiwankenobi687 did you watch the video??? they clearly enjoyed it lmfaooo
@@alexray03 and what? It’s not where you start, ridiculous place. It would be like starting Star Wars randomly at episode 6, just…..do it properly. It’s not hard
@@obiwankenobi687 i started star wars at force awakens im not the right guy for that argument
also the reason i personally gave in and watched doctor who properly was because i had previously watched episodes out of order. the episode that broke me and made me wanna start the show was actually power of the doctor - an episode that i had no context to and that kinda made no sense at the time but i still had fun which is literally what they are doing here
Heaven Sent!
I’m so sad for you guys, that you think this is good Who. Everything that happens in this episode is completely incomprehensible. Everything that happens is stupid, and every person is stupid. And the Doctor just won’t stop fucking crying.
Yap yap yap. Notice how we all enjoyed it. Have you tried coping?
You’re an idiot.
Caleb, you’re not being objective.
And now the raven episode😢
