- The Leela vs the Time War Season 15 trailer introduced a new variant of Time War Dalek - the red Dalek Majors. What is the purpose of these commander-class Daleks?

It's just occurred to me, was this the first time we ever seen Leela encounter the Daleks on screen?
It's so bizarre to me, one of the most iconic classic Who companions never had a story with either the Daleks, the Cybermen or the Master on screen...
@@conorcrilly1304Mostly because Tom Baker himself, ironically, barely fought any of his major enemies more than once or twice each.

@conorcrilly1304 Presumably, the writers were attempting to aviod repeating the Oversateratuon of Dalek & Cybermen stories seen during William' & Patrick' respective runs.
@@robotx9285 ah yes, we all remember the dreadful flop Backgammon of the Cybermen turned out to be. Enema of the Daleks wasn’t much better either, and the fact that the Doctor’s recorder was used in such a way is an image I’ll _never_ be able to scrub from my brain 🤢

Did anyone else notice how on the bronze Dalek grey is visible (as if painted over) and vice versa on the grey Daleks. Does this mean the bronze Daleks were once grey and black?

Could see Dalek Major been accompanied by pair of black/gray Daleks (one unit been equipped either special arm or gun) that act as Major's special units and sub commanders that answer to Major.
Oooo I love the comparison you made with the elites from Halo. Ironic considering I was brushing up on my halo lore during my journey to and from work today. I honestly would love some form of crossover one day.
Love the NSD Daleks in Grey & Black livery, would make the slats black though. I also like Red Dalek design, Red Daleks are the ground field commanders. Black/Gold Daleks are above them.
I saw the trailer i.e. Leela during the final hours of the Time War, and that Dalek was menacing in a great way.
I'd love to see the return of the Renegade colours return for Time-War era Daleks even for a Civil War as well, to show new Who viewers something like that if they haven't seen the Rememberance of the Daleks episode.

I would really like to see an actual Dalek geneticist appear. Not like the fan one that appears in that fan animation, but like an actual Dalek rank that probably works along side scientists which specifically conducts genetic experiments on captured species.
It would also be interesting to see a Dalek sergeant and probably a sergeant major. There is just something about Dalek rank structure that seems very interesting. Maybe that's one of the things I liked with the Paradigm Daleks they had a very distinct rank structure. With the supreme at the top aided by the Eternal. Then blow it the strategists and blow the strategists the Drones and then the Scientists on the side to perform experiments.
Maybe that is why if I ever create a Dalek spin-off which I plan to try and do once I have finished University as a way to break out into the world. I would make sure the Dalek have a very clear rank structure. It would basically go drone and special weapons Daleks, red Dalek lieutenant, then Dalek strategists which will be blue like the paradigm strategist, then Dalek sorcerer commanders, then Black Dalek leaders (supreme Daleks), then it would be my fan Dalek Strategist supreme, then the supreme Daleks (gold), then supreme council members, then finally the Dalek emperor. Then on the side would be Dalek scientists and geneticists who conduct experiments.
I don't know if anyone else has their own Dalek rank structure with colour demotions but I would like to see it.
I think Dalek scientists *are* geneticists.

Honestly, I didn’t know it was a different rank, I thought it was a simplified design for the Supreme Dalek which I found to be pretty lazy but knowing it’s a bridge-point between drone and supreme has softened my opinion on it.

I like how the Dalek Major looks a lot like the Red Dalek from Dr. Who & The Daleks. That was the inspiration for the Red Supreme Dalek's Design but the reference is a lot more striking on a standard Dalek imo
As a fan of franchises, I'm surprised I never made the connection between Dalek majors and Sangheili majors, even if it's just a coincidence.

When the Dalek Paradigm failed and the 2005 model returned too bad that it wasn't the Major Daleks.

Does anyone know what happened with the character on the left at 0:52? The alien is wearing a direct copy of the fallout salvaged T-45 power armor and super sledge. It's pretty blatant.

I thought the rank of Dalek Major was like a real life rank of Major in the military which leads a company or sometimes a Battalion as the units commanding officer. Silly me taking things serious.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm sure the vid is based on a source, but I really find the idea of Daleks having human military ranks kind of... meh. I don't know why. It just seems lame (commander is just about acceptable).
