- Shelby. It's a word that provokes a sense of performance. Most of us have owned or know somebody who has owned a @Ford Motor Company #mustang. Today, we take the final journey through Gary Thomas's amazing collection.Gary's collection includes, Mustangs, hot rods, ford hypercar and supercars, and other Ford performance cars.
The #Ford Mustang has been in continuous production since 1964, the Mustang is currently the longest-produced Ford car nameplate. Currently in its sixth generation, it is the fifth-best selling Ford car nameplate. The namesake of the "pony car" automobile segment, the Mustang was developed as a highly styled line of sporty coupes and convertibles derived from existing model lines.
Originally predicted to sell 100,000 vehicles yearly, the 1965 Mustang became the most successful vehicle launch since the 1927 Model A. Introduced on April 17, 1964 (16 days after the Plymouth Barracuda), over 400,000 units in its first year; the one-millionth Mustang was sold within two years of its launch.
The success of the Mustang launch led to multiple competitors from other American manufacturers, including the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird (1967), AMC Javelin (1968), and Dodge Challenger[9](1970). The Mustang also had an effect on designs of coupés worldwide, leading to the marketing of the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri in the United States.
Through its production, multiple nameplates have been associated with the Ford Mustang series, including GT, Mach 1, Boss 302/429, Cobra (separate from Shelby Cobra), and Bullitt, along with "5.0" fender badging (denoting 4.9 L OHV or 5.0 L DOHC V8 engines).

My goodness!... no idea how Gary can remember all of the details of his cars. Didn't realize this was a 3-parter. I hope he drives some of these and doesn't just look at them!
As a car guy, Gary's detailed knowledge of his collection is to be admired...thanks so much for sharing your collection with us!
Thanks so much I really enjoy a fellow Ford enthusiast taking the time to let me see his collection.
Gary is such and nice and humble guy. We need more Hobbyist like him
I thought Jay Leno had an impressive collection... Holy cow this guy is living with my Dream Garage
Gary Thomas you have a great collection so inspiring and lovely watching it
Big thank you for sharing with us
Glad you enjoyed it
My dream car I wish I could’ve met Carroll Shelby he was awesome
Wow what a collection! My dad had a little red 94' SVT Lightning when I was a kid. That truck was so fun to drive and it handled really well for an OBS Ford. We ended up putting 240K miles on the truck with the original motor still running good when he sold it. I would buy it back in a heartbeat given the chance...
Wow!
Just wow. That is undoubtably the nicest Ford - Mustang - Shelby collection in the world!
Gary is a wealth of information for any car person! I'm amazed that he remembers so many details about his cars, I would love to visit and see the collection in person. I have a 69 Mach that I need to restore and after watching this it has gotten my interests peaked to try and find the parts needed to complete my car! Thanks for sharing your amazing collection with the rest of the world Gary.
Holy cow! Yet another vid from Gary and Petersen Automotive.
Gary is awesome! His knowledge is both entertaining and informative.
I'm a Chevy guy (1970 Z28 and a 1965 'Vette and C-10 1978 truck 4 wheel drive) but the 1969 Mach 1 has always been my favorite!
Thank you! :)
I’ll take a ‘65 ‘vette over a Mach 1 any day of the week’
What an amazing collection of Ford automobiles. Thank you Gary for giving us this tour and affording us this time to view these beautiful examples of automotive excellence. I've thoroughly enjoyed viewing them...
This is by far my favorite collection I have ever had the pleasure of seeing
Mind blowing. No doubt his engineering background and education allows him to be completely detail oriented.
Could this workshop be any cleaner??? Love it!!
I think even old Shelby would have said- Holy Sh@T what a collection!
What an incredible collection ! Thank you for sharing it.
I noticed watching these videos and your cars at Kissimmee that the panel gaps and alignment are perfect,
more so than any Mustangs I've seen cross the block or at shows for many years. Incredible collection, best I
have ever seen. Thanks for the tour.
Outstanding collection! Thank you for sharing them to the world!

I could listen to that man’s voice all day. I’m not sure how many millions of dollars worth of cars he has there but I would be happy just keeping them nicely polished as a mere volunteer! 🙏😊
That is one great collection of
Fords. Thank for the look
My first car was 67 Mustang
390 engine. Love that 🚗
My dream car is the 67 Shelby gt500 and you just have like 3 or 4 of them laying around along with a lot of other mustangs I would love to own! You have an amazing collection and hearing your knowledge was great and inspirational I hope one day to have a collection as vast as yours and be able to have just as much knowledge of all of my cars just as you do…
Gary you have a beautiful Ford car collection!!! Nicely done man!
I only have one word for this man's collection: WOW!!!
Congratulations on a terrific collection!
I've always been a Ford guy all my life Very 1st car was a 64 Galaxie 500 with the big 390 and a c-6 tranny. It was a great old car. That was in 1971, but then I moved on up to another Galaxie 500 Xl.in 1972. This was the beginning of my hot rodding phase. With a 406, single 780 double pumper Holley on a mid height aluminum intake, Isky 3/4 cam, factory headers and some big cherry bomb dual exhaust with a 390 rear posi traction rear. I was surely in love with that all black on black beautiful girl. I wish I had her back along with the same number of years that has been. I'm impressed very much how Gary can keep all of the details of all of his cars. Hey Gary if you ever need a buddy that can drive real well to do any driving for you let me know, I'm real cheap (free) all I need is a hamburger every once in a while. Thanks for showing us your fabulous collection, I really enjoyed becoming jealous for a while.
Please, Peterson Auto Museum, share a story sometime about a ‘65 Thunderbird. ‘64-‘66 but for me, ‘65. Lol! Love what you do 💯🤘🏽
Excellent you have a amazing collection sir definitely caught my attention
Awesome collection sir. God bless you
When i was a kid i had a magazine that had a lot of the modern cars, with a red 1970 shelby 500 on the front, i used to stare at that car and dream.
Beautiful collection
Amazing collection of 32s!
Beautiful collection my dream garage
Just Amazing
I have never in my entire life seen a ford collection quite like this. I grew up with mustangs being restored all around me. My first car was a 67 GTA coupe. Wish like hell I didn’t sell it. And wish like hell I had a collection like this 😂
Also the 68 1/2 428 Ragtop my step dad actually owned one … if memory serves me right there we’re only 12 made
Wow, what a great collection! Would love to see it in person sometime if possible. Would gladly pay entry fee.

I was watching an old TV show on RUclips called California Gold.. He was in a warehouse that had a lot of cars. Wonder if Gary has heard of that collection. In the back outside was a fully restored very old Pullman train coach built out to the max for some rich Airess.
Wow, what a unbelievable collection.
I know where an original 66 Shelby GT 350H which has been owned and raced by the current owner since the late ‘70’s.
A true 'drop the mic' collection. Truly EPIC.
Insane collection! Awesome.
GRABBER BLUE.. Hell yeah!! 3/16" gaps he says.. I wish I could say the same about my 2017 GT.

Just Awesome:)
This guy is a legend !!
Beautiful cars.
Wow i would love to have anyone of those cars very nice job.
What a beautiful collection I wish I was this Rich
Very nice collection
amazing collection godbless you.
Enjoy your videos Gary. Your description of the 1966 silver blue k-code you mentioned solid lifters and 371 HP HIPO in that portion of the video. I was the proud owner of a 1965 Mustang GT K-code which I purchased in 1967 when I was a senior in high school. As i recall the engine produced 271 HP. Were they producing a small block 289 with 100 more HP?? I still have numerous photos which I occasionally look at and reminisce days at MN dragstrip and evenings at the local A & W drive-in.
I caught that too. I think he just misspoke, what with all the amazing cars he has.
WOW that's a awesome collection I am a Ford guy through and through
God bless you sir. What a collection of ponies. Coming to Houston very soon would love to be able to see them live. Wondering if any of them are for sale please get ahold of me if so at your earliest convenience thank you
The Red on white 65 fastback with all the cobra engine add ons is right up my ally...i love a mustang on correct wheels with redlines..yummy.
Now I know why you can’t find a good mustang….this guy has them all…….
God bless you and cpllection is a great job this is a museum
Very impressive!
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system!
Gary, any chance you would let a couple old mustang Facebook groups in Houston come see this collection.
Probable 20people.
Consideration appreciated.
Nice video
Wow 👍
I have a 1971 ford100 sport custom short bed 302 original $12000 will look nice for your colección
I just wanna cry !!!!!!!
My favourite cars are Mustangs and E-types.
2 weeks ago, I was in Breman KY doing disaster relief and saw a 1968 bullet. it was in poor condition. Told the gentleman he could raise some much-needed cash and should consider selling. A shame to see these survivors fade away.
Blast to the past . Beautiful cars.
Very smart gentleman
The gold mine full of diamonds
Magnificent, 👍.
Love it
I got 6 ford fe s. 428 4 interceptors and 2 428 cobra jets 1 is out of a 1967 lime green gt500 with a matching numbers gear racial box 1 is of a 1968 gt 500 kr 428 cobra jet. One of the engine is on eBay for sale
Boss 429!
Wow!
How many mustangs can one man have
It seems lots and lots more 👍👍
My favorite cars were the svt cobra and the lightning 🤤
I was wondering if you where the guy that bought Ed Brady's boss 429 out of Knoxville TN. I was just wondering hoping it was in someone's hands that could take good care of it. It was one of the 1st 50 built out of the factory 🏭.
It was supposed to be mine when I turned 18 but my father would not let me drive it so Ed sold it. He got like 150k in the early 80's.
ASIDE FROM WANTING A BOSS 429 AND A 70 MACH 1 AND A 70 BOSS 302 LOL I MAY NOT HAVE ANY OF THE CARS FROM THE 60S BUT THE CAR AT THE END IS IN MY GARAGE LOL MY VIBRANT RED 93 COBRA THAT'S ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR EXHAUST WITH 22 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND THE FRONT PLATE WAS NEVER PUT ON THE CAR LIKE HERE BUT EITHER WAY I LOVE MY 93 COBRA #1409 AND MY BLACK 93 COBRA #299 BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT GOT STOLEN MANY YEARS AGO AND IT WAS NEVER RECOVERED BUT I DO HAVE MY VIBRANT RED COBRA.
Back in the late 60s a young in my neighborhood bought one of those coups it took him a week to absolutely destroy it totally thrashed it had huge dents and scratches all up one side after he rolled it was mint when he got it such a shame
Best hobby in the world !
I LOVE MUSTANGS!!! My first car was a Stang!!!
