John knew music was the food of love and boy did he portray a lot of love with his songs!! I really appreciate how you describe and react to #9 Dream , awesome awesome song !!! 👍👍👍❤️
My favorite solo John Lennon song, it’s not even close. So truly otherworldly without sounding like sci-fi effects. Beautiful with not a musical cliche in sight. I hear some Eastern influence in some of the chord progressions. It’s also very poignant, not a usual Lennon projection at this time.
I know this comment 2yrs in the Future but I read some where years ago that Lennon said this song was actually about a dream he had and the ah ba wah cow wah made no sense but it being sang in the background though out his dream…….pure Lennon genius!
Thank you for this info. Being a slide guitar sound, I always imagined it was George who played it. Jesse Ed Davis was special man... always breaks my heart how he died.

That orchestral sound is indeed other-worldly.😮
I was in love with Walls and Bridges.
Incredibly powerful song. Thank you.
A true masterpiece! The unusual chord structure, with its unexpected changes, creates the foundation for this magical song.

The beautiful guitar intro was provided by Jesse Ed Davis. I feel Lennon’s loss strongly through this song.
