@@goldenhourkodak Maybe that's why I like them but never liked Pearl Jam as a kid. I never understood (and still don't) Eddie's lyrics. I loved the music but just couldn't get their message. I can actually understand Scott. Never thought about them being a Pearl Jam knockoff but I get your point. Creed has excellent music either way and they sound pretty full, not cheap at all.

Well people hated Creed not only because of Scott's voice its also because of his scandals and some of his live performance in mid 2000s
Probably stems from overexposure to ‘Higher’ and ‘My Sacrifice’. Those played non-stop on TV and radio back then. Shame because every album has at least half a dozen great songs.

Creed was top of the game at this point in 99...the whole band was awesome from the drummer to the bass...Tremonti is one of the best guitarist to ever have walked this planet. Scott was a great singer who's voice always on point and distinct sounds that pulled you in and made you feel the music. Wish I could have been there to see this in person now I'm 40 and feel like I missed out.
Ripping off Eddie Vedder is the opposite of distinct
Scott is performing live again with other musicians...footage is on youtube. He still sounds pretty good. Also saw an interview from last year with Tremonti, that he's open to a reunion if the timing works out etc.

Having never seen live footage of Creed, I'm very surprised how good they are. Singer is on point. Gonna add some Creed to my play list.
I've probably seen at least 100 different bands/singers that have been on the radio (although admittedly, a good chunk of those were at Woodstock '99). Before Scott Stapp's issues, they were incredible live. The vocals, the music, the performance/interaction, the energy....they just absolutely nailed it. They are easily a top 10, if not top 5 when it came to concert performances for me.
Great band. They got a lotta hate cause they got real big. But real people will tell you the truth. This is an amazing group of musicians.

This is amazing concert footage of Creed. They have to be one of the premiere bands of our time. Creed knows how to rock on their recordings and especially "live" as shown by this Woodstock '99 concert. I am one of those fans that think Creed is the greatest rock band ever. Rock on!

I liked Creed, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Alter Bridge tho! In fact been my favorite band since my senior year of high school back in ’04 when they formed. I think Scott is a great vocalist but Myles Kennedy is on another level plus he’s a phenomenal guitarist and Mark is allowed to shred with Alter Bridge and his solo band “Tremonti” (whom is also one of my favorite bands) I love LITERALLY EVERYTHING Mark “The Tremonster” Tremonti has EVER done, he’s been my favorite guitarist for almost 25 years (which is insane to think about)

I remember watching this too. I didn't realize how awesome it was at the time, but they brought out the guitarist from the fucking Doors. Musically, this is probably the best set of the whole festival. To give homage to the Doors and the original woodstock by bringing this guy out to play was just really cool.

I was there. My friend's uncle had a party bus business and we all gave him money to take us up there and bring us back. The conditions were so harsh that we decided to leave early on Sunday. We left around 2:30pm and heard this on the radio on the way home. We got back hours later it was late turned on MTV and the place was on fire and we were glad we left. Can't believe I missed this 49:37

As a recording engineer, who was the bloody genius who miced up those awfully thin and bright loud hi hats? That's why there's so much feedback in some cases!! From My experience, less mics on a drum (especially not micing the hi hats) kit the better it sounds. The hi hats are like the only thing you hear on the drum kit bc it's the loudest in the kit spectrum other than the snare
